  • I must admit to being a bit of a Jamiroquai-Stu-Zender snob, but this version of hooked up has completed changed my opinion of Paul's playing. Lush bline!

  • wow !!! it all i have to say f. WOW !

  • Jamiroquai fans are so spoiled by all the great music troughout the years, that many of them can't even enjoy great Jamiroquai-performances anymore without criticizing it and referring to the "good old days".

  • @AZZARITI4 I totally agree :)

  • I've just realised what song they've mixed into this, it's been bugging me since I was there watching it. It's Dexter Wansel - Life on Mars (featured on the Jamiroquai Late Night Tales Album)

  • The sound is not as the same as their "golden" days. But anyway, I think it just marks their new era !

    I like this one :) !

  • OMG how can you possibly say that this is the worst ever version of hooked up? It's awesome. In my opinion Jamiroquai are better now than they ever have been. The horn section is back, Jay's voice is awesome and the whole band are as tight as a drum! I was there at this gig. I like the work that Rob does with jamiroquai and think that the whole arrangement in this performance is great. you just need to stop living in the past! Every band changes with time otherwise it would get boring =D.

  • I've just watched the 1996 version recommended below - this is punchier and far better, for my money.

  • some weird points of view to me below - this is the best version I've ever heard of this song. Love the heavier sound.

  • Ok.. Jay.. umm. I hope you know this barely passes for an acceptable performance of "hooked up". Tbh you should had skipped this and played something else such as "Cosmic Girl". Brass section is out of place, I dont even know what the middle part was about 2:06-2:30 does not sound anything like it.

  • @ShadowRave

I don´t think its his fault, but the new musicians. They can´t interpret the older tunes the same way as Toby and Stu did. The bass player is particularly dumb, I can´t count the number of errors I´ve detected in his bass lines for older tunes. Some get totally distroyed.

  • @Breezeaired Jamiroquai is my favourite band but this is the worse ever performance of hooked up, compare this to the 1996 Albert Hall version. This is a complete joke.. everything is wrong about it musically, Jay is great with the singing and dancing but.. cmon.. the musicians have no idea how to perform this right.

  • @ShadowRave

How can you compare this recording, probably taped with a cell phone from a big distance and with allot of background noise, with a big concert in a hall with great accoustic?

  • @AZZARITI4

Jazz Cafe was a special gig and I watched the DVD numerous times - but that was a one-off occasion to have brass section with themselves. Listening these recordings from the past 2-3 gigs makes me think the guys realized that the should be driven by bass, Fender Rhodes and brass again and Rob"s contribution to the sound is not as heavy as it was before. I love this new sound!

  • @Breezeaired

Don't forget Simon Katz - I think his departure and Rob's arrival should be accused for the rocky sounding in the past years.

  • @zsomalino

yeah dude that guy was stylish. And Dodds was funky as hell. Rob ... Comercial. But what can we expect from a guy that worked with Robbie Williams?

  • @ShadowRave

Mate - I think you should look at this from a different angle: at least they realized that they should play their early sh*t and not the ones like Don't Give Hate A Chance or Runaway. TYTD is back on the setlist just as WYGL, yeah they rearranged this track a bit but you'll need to understand that they never gonna sound the same like in the golden days. At least appreciate their efforts of bringing the old tunes back;)

  • @zsomalino

I think many so called "fans" are so bussy with their nostalgic feelings, they forget to enjoy Jamiroquai in the present. Don't get me wrong, I love the old Jamiroquai but I enjoy Jamiroquai anno 2010 just as much. If I watch performances like the Jazz Cafe 2006, I just know the band is still super-funky . I'm gonna watch them live this summer, and this Hard Rock- show promises allot of good stuff. The horns are back, this can't be bad!

  • Badass moves from a man at his age:D

  • Thank you very much for uploading this! It's awesome :). I was there and I thought that Jay and Jamiroquai were great, as usual. Jay Kay's dancing is fantastic here! Thanks to you, i can re-live the moment :D
