Confucius has regained much of his former strength. He cannot yet take physical form but his spirit has lost none of its potency. Concealed within his fortress China, the Lord of vain Bibble Babble sees all. His gaze pierces cloud, shadow, earth, and flesh. You know of what I speak, a great Eye, lidless, wreathed in flame. He is gathering all evil to him. Very soon he will have summoned an army great enough to launch an assault upon Middle Earth.
It is Confucius's teaching that became the dominant force in Asian politics and social structure, particularly in East, Southeast and South Asia. The idea of the importance of filial piety, respect towards elders, harmony within the family and putting to priority the good of the community before that of self bear their roots in Confucianism. Of course, this has been a cause of much ideological conflict with the West of which philosophy stand in stark contrast.
I'm so thankful for this video. i used this for my report in English 175 class in MSU-main campus Marawi City. Because of this, my professor appreciate my report. A million thanks sa nag-appload nito.
I did the exact opposite for this. For a class, me and my friend wrote up a paper on how bad Confucianism really was. There is this great paper by a guy titled "The dark side of Confucianism". Google it, its a great read.
:) To be honest, I don't really agree with it either. This was just for school. The whole 5 relationships thing I don't like too much. I'll be sure to look it up! Thanks! :D
@eventercrazy isn't that a little contradictory? saying you don't really agree with Confucianism and saying in your prior posts that he had "amazing quotes" and you "could only choose a few favs for times sake" ?
I think Confucius had quite a lot of intelligent philosophy to share but at the same time, you gotta be selective and not take everything at face value.
and btw, I'm sorry if that's not actually what you meant by I don't really agree with it either. :)
haha I didn't mean to contradict myself there. I believe he's said some very valuable quotes that serve as life lessons in general, but his over all ideas and goals, such as "loyalty" and "the mandate of heaven" simply don't seem right. I guess I should have said that I agree with a few choice things he's said, but not all.
The title is exactly what it is. The info describes exactly what it is. ;) These are quotes that Confucius said. If you do not know who that is, you need to look him up and learn about Confucianism! Anyway, these were some of his more popular quotes and sayings to make my project more enjoyable.

@FireEyedMaidOfWar Uhh... ok.... You have way to much time to take that from Lord of the Rings and edit it like that... ???
eventercrazy 9 months ago 2
@eventercrazy: Nope as the one ring of power was a mere symbol for the one China as is the Dark Lord Sauron modelled after Confucius!
