@symphonicmind87 The best tone by far is an SG style guitar with chrome-cover alnico pickups into a Laney tube amp. It doesn't need 2 B Gibson, just set-neck all mahogany =) Ori's tone is NOT the best U can get, & certainly not 4 the $, as PRS is INSANELY overpriced. The Laney with the SG thing gives all the scream & chunk of other fancy setups, but with the advantage of very detailed & complex mids & stuff =D Ori would sound even BETTER if she used that setup.

You're not a bad teacher, you just don't know what students need. Check out the old Guitar Express videos for a great example of how to teach guitar. Great playing -- keep it up.

@SoCalStringPlyr VERY true. If I were her, I probably wouldn't have it in me to dedicate SO much time to a fanbase, and would probably wind up only answering an occasional question, posting the odd "Cheers, heres whats up" vid when theres news to be told.
This is the kind of thing that everybody warns about with hitting it big. Taking care of a fanbase can sometimes run into your schedule with shows if you let it.
And then everyone says this is what agents are for. To run your fanbase for you.

"telecaster" is too generic. Get an American Fender tele and tell me its not great. That is, if you want tele sound. If you just want to shred then there's no substitute but Jackson, Schecter, or ESP. Much cheaper than PRS, wider selection of body styles, paint jobs, and CHEAPER.
You may play well, but you're no good of a teacher. Telling watchers the first fret and then just playing it doesn't help at all. Maybe throw a tab on the video? maybe play note by note SLOWLY. By slowly I mean what a less able player may be able to discern note to note what you are playing easily.
Learning scales just doesn't cut it for some guitarists. I'm speaking from a teacher perspective, since I am. To me this may be an elementary lick to pick out and master in a matter of minutes but to many guitarists it isn't that easy.

Actually thats very true. You cant really compare them even with their different styles. But lets be honest here. By musical standards paul gilbert is a virtuoso. I have yet to see if orianthi is even close to that. Shes still good but does she match up to the technical skill of paul gilbert or the sophisticated songs he writes.

"telecaster" is too generic. Get an American Fender tele and tell me its not great. That is, if you want tele sound. If you just want to shred then there's no substitute but Jackson, Schecter, or ESP. Much cheaper than PRS, wider selection of body styles, paint jobs, and CHEAPER.

You may play well, but you're no good of a teacher. Telling watchers the first fret and then just playing it doesn't help at all. Maybe throw a tab on the video? maybe play note by note SLOWLY. By slowly I mean what a less able player may be able to discern note to note what you are playing easily.

Learning scales just doesn't cut it for some guitarists. I'm speaking from a teacher perspective, since I am. To me this may be an elementary lick to pick out and master in a matter of minutes but to many guitarists it isn't that easy.

Jennifer Batten is the girl you're thinking about. Orianthi is only 25, she's been playing since she was six so there's no way she's been with him long (too young). From what I heard he came across her on here and hired her for the This Is It tour after auditioning her. Jennifer Batten is also very amazing, you should look her up.

i know with the songs AFTERLIFE, SEIZE THE DAY and CRITICAL ACCLAIM solos, theyd blow my mind. But that doesn't mean that Orianthi Can't defeat Syn Gates. Orianthi is only 25 while syn is 29 which means that Orianthi will be better if she grows up.

Ill only rephrase it because its insulting. Synyster gates imo is mediocre and over rated. Now i honestly dont care about which magazine rated who this or who that. Sure their lists are sometimes good but they arent the hierarchy of great guitarist lists. And if he even is fast, its only one component which is speed. And im sure that their are way more guitarists that top him in speed. Some who arent even famous.
So not to insult your taste or synyster but i feel he is over rated.

Actually thats very true. You cant really compare them even with their different styles. But lets be honest here. By musical standards paul gilbert is a virtuoso. I have yet to see if orianthi is even close to that. Shes still good but does she match up to the technical skill of paul gilbert or the sophisticated songs he writes.
IMO i rather paul gilbert.
But thats all it is and all it'll ever be. An opinion!
