Gruesome cinematics but that's not how VX actually works. It's a nerve agent no blister. Your skin/body will appear normal, except it shuts down your nervous system and eventually all major organs.
My favourite action movie, love this scene. I feel bad for the guy that is left behind when the glass ball of VX gel/gas breaks. It was either him or everyone.
@JASONN46j There Force Recon marines, and you would be suprised the amount of hi-tech stuff they have, it's just most of it is too costly or too much of a burden to use.
To my knowledge VX is not a vesicant (i.e. it doesn't "melt" skin). And if it was, atropine would have no effect to stop the melting of the skin.
Also, VX is a single substance that is, by itself, deadly. However, VX2 is in the form of two substances that mix together prior to being released to form the deadly chemical.
I can tell you that withe VX, that man would've been dead before he hit the floor and skin started to boil...ESPECIALLY with the highly concentrated amount that soldier received in that enclosed gas chamber. Moreover, he wouldn't be able to look out the window or see the blisters forming on his skin, as a vesicant of that nature causes teary eyes and they would more or less rot out in seconds. Besides, on a raid like that, they'd prob do it in MOPP 4 with atropine injectors.
Well, there are PRIVATE companies that build NBC shelters for people AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. Any attempt to provide Civil Defense against WMD died with the presidencies of JFK and Ronald Reagan. But I couldn't agree with you more on your comment.
I'm glad there are intelligent people on youtube willing to give helpful advice instead of argue like the majority on here... What are the affects of direct contact with VX? and how affective is the atropine? The gas really interests me
I'm not an expert in chemistry by far. I went thru CBRNE (Chemical, Biological,Radiological,Nuclear,Explosive) training as an Army Medic. You can search VX on Youtube and there are documentaries on the subject. I CAN tell you the a drop of VX the size of Lincoln's eye on the face of a penny on your skin would be fatal in minutes without atropine (or whatever equivalent the Army's using now). VX acts by blocking the chem. synapses in the brain that control your ability to control you muscles.
vx gas is real. it was invented in the UK. America traded nuclear weapons in the 60s for VX gas. 1/8 of a raindrop of this gas is enough to kill a man.
@muzikscud23 If not your country, then another would've developed it, just like the nuclear age. By developing these weapons, it allows antidotes to be made. Unfortunately, there's no antidote for a nuclear blast.
it's the most poisonous nerve-gas on earth I think. but in real vx doesn't look like this. there are 2 liquids which react. it doesn't look like these green pearls.

the craziest part is when he's banging on the glass then looks at his face and realizes what's happening to him.

Scary stuff then. If people would spend a tenth on saving people instead of devising ways to kill them Id be happy.

I believe it actually holds the world record for "World's most dangerous substance."

I believe Risin is more powerfull,
there are also many other GB nerve agents that are more deadly then VX.
VX is nothing more then purified pesticied delivered in a aresol, all nerve agents are basic Organophosphate chemicals.
