  • i came to watch this cause everytime i do a single precision and don't really land it perfecly my ankle hurts as fuck, probably fucked it up real bad cause i've been training last month without doing excercises etc... Thanks for showing excercises and stretches i hope my ankles will survive and get strong!

  • Dogen, go see a chiropractor! I had the same diagnosis, then I sought alternative care. The chiro told me that because of my multiple sprains I had "frozen" my ankle joints. After him forcing the joints to move again I began to experience less and less pain. That in addition to your workouts have brought me back to confortable movement!

    We have to work out that we should be training our feet like every other muscle and joint. Bit gay really, but I'm doing this from now on. Also, i got here from DemonDrills

  • I already have shin splints! Any idea of what I should do? Does the shin splints go away if I do these exercises? 

  • @1ableL0 If your shin splints aren't too severe, just don't do anything that makes them worse. These exercises will help them heal and help prevent them in the future.

  • this is gonna be amazing for me :) my ankles need strengthening so badly, when i do parkour or freerunning i usually only do big stuff, stuff that really wears away at my ankles, this could be a good breakthrough for me as my ankles seem to start giving way after most training sessions, thanks :)

  • @joPe243 I saw it before I got injured, but I don't blame his tutorial. I injured myself at a school wrestling practice not tricking or doing Parkour xD but anyway some of these exercises are ones my physical therapist gave me (I cracked my tibia and my growth plate)

  • @parkour4enthusiasts I started doing squats about a month ago and since then I haven't felt any pain in my knees. I recommend starting with around 3 sets of 10 (or so, I do about 5 sets of 15) it will build both your thigh muscles and your knees will be stronger.

  • I do parkour, and what I do to strengthen my ankles is barefoot training and lots and lots of rail squats. Seriuosly rail squats will give your ankles such a burn and make them really strong. I'm gonna add some of the shin muscle exercises to my training regime too.

  • @123Steaky Yep thats exactly what it is, make sure you're balancing on the balls of your feet when you do it

  • oh dude that's funny, i already do a majority of this stuff out of habit lol. and another exercise that i do pretty often is to find some stairs or a small ledge. i place the balls of my feet on the ledge, with my heels on the lower one. then i use my shins/calves to lift myself up and repeat that about 30 times. this really strengthens them.

  • You know you might want to give Pranic Healing or Reiki a try. I know they're very controversial, but hey, trying never hurts right?

    I was certain I did something to my ankle once, some Pranics cleared it right up. When the injury occurred, it was an agonizing pain. ... But you just never know, what might work...

    I realize it was probably not an ankle sprain, even for the amount of pain, but something has to be said about the pain relief it gave me.

  • Got the same diagnosis "everything looks fine" :/ sucks big time...

    still it helps a lot to strengthen the ankles muscles and stretch them, it already lessened how often i get the pain.

  • im lucky, ive got rubber ankles, but i really need to work on keepin my heels off the floor when landing.... not my strong point after 7ft upwards... thankyou very much for this video. AMAZING SONG TOO

  • @CoolParkourName Please condition your ankles, I couldnt train for 6 weeks because of an ankle sprain. I did these excercises for a full month, and now its alot better.

  • i did a front flip and i landed on my foot fingers and landed with my knee. If i hadnt followed this tut i would have surely sprained my knee. Thnx dogen!

  • my angkles have been in pain for awhile, and i had my angkle sprain twice on both legs, this helps, my ankle seems to be better! thanks dogen! awesome tutorial

  • A month of recovery, really? It took me about two weeks before I could trick again with no pain. I guess it's just a matter of how fast your body heals.

  • got nothing to do with how fast your body heals, just how bad you injured it, especially when it comes to sprains like that. i never hurt myself and always heal quick, messed up my ankle once and and couldnt practice pk again for about 4 months.

  • I've got these feet glove things called vibram five fingers. Used to have shin splints and clicky ankles but they've sorted em out a treat. It's like walking around barefoot all day

  • Does foot tapping (like drumming) during free sitting time help, btw i usually use both feet and can go at medium to fast speed for hours (its a habbit lol)

  • amazing for freerunning. I do that more then trick, so its insanely good for it, helps my jumps, wall plants, wall runs and all that

  • lol i did this for 5 weeks, then i did a gainer and landed on my ankle and twisted it completely. it went every which way but the wa it was supposed to, but what do you know, in a day there was no pain, and just to be sure i stayed away from trikcing for a week, and just did more conditioning overall, and that was that, no injury, without this i woulda been so screwed. Thnkx man.

  • For wrists, you can basically apply the same tecniques. Grab a 5 or 10 pound dumbel, hold your hand out in front of you with your palm down, let your hand hang, then lift it up and towards you. Do the same thing with your palm up. For knees, do knee-bends, that sort of thing. Y'know what I mean?

    I've sprained my ankle about 20 times now.

    The pain goes away after about an hour of resting though.

  • Yep, but don't over do it, if they get too sore, have a rest for a day or two.

  • this takes way too long... im standing there for like 5 min. leaning against my door and lifting my toes up and still no burn. waht other ankle conditioning can i do besides these things cuz i really really really conditioned my ankles a lot back when they were really weak and i always twisted them and i was going into wrestling and i guess it stuck with me same for my neck.. anything i can do thats harder?

  • Hold something heavy and do them. Try using only one foot if you aren't already. Try getting an empty bike inner tube and using it as resistance to lifting up your toes or w/e.

  • I suggest you really should use knee warmers, I do, and it helps out a lot. They keep your knee warm and filled with liquid, wich is like motor oils for the knee. You should try it out.
