Why did Bernie Madoff plead guilty? It doesn't make sense unless he struck a deal that they wouldn't go after his family. No indictments for Gollum (Ruth), Uday and Qusay (the sons), Peter and Shana (haven't come up with nicknames for them yet). If no one else in the family gets indicted then you know that is the case.
