  • yes, how is this tuned, excellent!!!

  • i like the sound of that guitar. What model guitar is that and what type of strings are you using? Do you have the guitar amplified? Thanks

  • @Enak12345 That's a J200 with coated strings. No amplifier, just straight acoustic.

  • Thanks for this, which is wonderful, and for your near-constant posting. Any chance you'll be able to do a lesson on this song. I'd like to get a better idea of what you're doing with right and left hand. I know, just another fan who wants something from you.

How about identifying the guitars you're playing. You seem to have an astonishing assortment.

Thanks again for all the music.

  • wow,you're tuned down quite a bit..a whole step??

  • Beautiful!!!

  • DIggin' deep brotha love it!!!!

  • You are now my guitar teacher.

  • Excellent as always. Yes, I've heard Bobby Darin's version. Great version. It sounds more natural coming from him.

  • Excellent choice - always loved "Flowers" and that whole Brian-infused era - Backstreet Girl, Sitting On a Fence, Ruby Tuesday, Out of Time, etc. Great as usual, man. Thanks for this.

  • @ottocarpenter Search YouTube for Bobby Darin's version of Backstreet Girl. It's awesome.

  • @privettricker Wow - thanks for the referral. That was outstanding. Who'da thunk?

  • @privettricker Wow - thanks for the referral. That was outstanding. Who'da thunk?

  • @ottocarpenter Agreed. Flowers is still my fave Stones LP. And only released in USA & Germany, if I recall correctly. I've played Backstreet Girl, Sittin' On a Fence, and Take It Or Leave It in duos & solos for about 40 years now. Just saw our host's channel for the first time today. Yes, it looks like he pulls alot of goodies out of the hat. Good job, privettricker.

  • Great job. Sounds awesome.

  • great song, thanks!

  • Great !!!!! Thank you a million times !!!

  • Hi man. I got this guy who does this song and the live version of 'Midnight Rambler' from get yer... in open G. Very interesting. I will try it but This version that you play has always been the way I play one of my favorite Stones tunes and Midnight rambler was always capoed at the 7th? and plated traditional E,A.D with some little riffs in there. Anywaywat this sounds great and I love this song. Well done!

  • @andy65guitar Neither of those songs is open G, both standard tuning.

  • @privettricker Yes I know I have played them both in standard tuning for years! Backstreet girl was exactly how I play it(only you plyed it better). The idea that these could be played in open G is kinda cool though. I am going to try both of them just for fun and see what happens? Hey I played 'Blackbird' in open G for years before I learned it the right way. It sounded great! What the hell? I always played' Winter in standard tuning until I saw that you play it in open G.

  • @andy65guitar The only problem with Backstreet Girl in open G is Keith hits that low E note, so you'd have to keep that low string tuned to E. In fact, I hate the way Keith keeps hitting the low E when he plays the D chord. You can tell in the video, I kind of resisted hitting that E. I used to do a version of Blackbird in open G, too. I'd do Penny for Your Thoughts and then we'd go straight into Blackbird. Sounded really nice.

  • @privettricker That is a good point about the E string but I will try it just for fun anyway. 'Blackbird' was always fun in open G. Backstreet girl will be fun to screw around with anyway and I can try to mute the E like you do with the Frampton tune that is like 'Blackbird'. I always thought that was in open G tuning too! Now I play it the right way and muting notes is not a problem for me. Could you do your version of 'Let it loose' from Exile? I love that tune

  • Great Song.
