@37reformed Yes I do. Search on Youtube for the following video: "Atkins Diet Quick Hits: Portion Sizes or what does a cup look like?" Let me know if that is not what you meant.
I know this video is a little old school, but I just made this recipe for the first time and its AWESOME! Just a few questions; first is the crust safe for owl, second I used torani sf vanilla syrup (all I could find) and was really good; any difference from the davinci's and lastly is this recipe rated at 2g net carbs per slice with crust or without? Thanks again, your the man! oh yeah by the way, added cinnamon to the crust, perfect match! LOL
great recipe. I forgot to add the whipping cream before pouring it onto the crust. It still taste great, but I can only eat a small piece or it just becomes too much. Overall, this is a great recipe and better than any no bake I have ever tasted.
An even easier low carb cheesecake. Mix 8 oz of cream cheese, 1 bowl of cool whip, 1 8oz carton of sour cream, 1/2 cup splenda and 1 tsp vanilla. Blend well and chill and enjoy.
sorry, If I didn't explain clearly, make sure the jello you are using is sugar free jello!:) and mix it with hot water just like you were making jello jelly then pour it in the strawberry cheesecake mix. you can also pour a layer of strawberry mix after the cheese cake is chilled just to have the layer of jelly on top like a fruit cake:)
hey, I'd like to share with you some ingredients you could add to make it more creative:) in this cheesecake you could add some strawberry jello mix and you don't have to add geletine:) and it becomes strawberry cheesecake:) and you can add coffee powder, and it becomes coffee cheesecake:) I just can't live without cheesecakes lol:D try it and i hope you enjoy it;) cheers
I just made this and it is hands down awesome! I am the only one in the family doing atkins but they all loved it too! Thanks for sharing the recipe and video!
I lost 50 ponds on the low carb diet AKA Atkins Diet. That was over five years ago now. I gained back a total of 8 pounds. I am trying to lose that now. I am watching Carbs again. I totally dropped sugared soda when I was on the diet last time. I have not drunk regular soda again. I have kept the pounds off by watching what I eat. Sugar is my down fall now. I started using Splenda, because it taste good. I will try this cheese cake this weekend it sounds good.
Kuchenrolle, that is only for the first two weeks. then you start taking in carbs. Atkins does not = no carbs that is only for the first two weeks then you move into a low carb diet. to maintain the weight lost. I know how Ketosis is acieved. Lived it all. have maintained my weight. Some people think you it is an all meat diet. Not true.
right, and you can explain nicely instead of being so rude thanks. and in this diet, you get your energy from fats more than your carbs. and yes I did my homework and i know about the ketosis thing.....
This looks like it will hit my sweet spot perfectly. thanks oh and I laugh each time I hear your theme song (Love AB) and am watching him and you at the same time. Where's can I find a link to your menu blog?
If you hit my latest videos, you'll see a link to my blog (network dash admin dot n et). Add "menus" after the slash. That's my menus blog, which needs to be updated as well.
Thanks for watching, and I agree AB is great. The science behind why things taste great is fantastic.
I understand the whole carb-thing, but what about the calories!?
Do those not matter?
I thought the whole point of a diet (using the term loosely) was to cut back on what you eat. Not eat chicken (fried) and cheesecake! Even if it is low-carb, wouldn't it be easier to just eat an apple? So much healthier, you don't have to worry about "Saving up" your carbs or whatever....Just my oppinion.
The whole Calories In Calories Out argument has fallen short in so many studies and has so many holes that swiss cheese might hold more water. What you eat matters as much how Calories are in there. Low carbers eating the same # of Calories as High Carbers lost more weight, more FAT, and less muscle.
The point of any successful is diet is to teach you how to eat healthy. Good advice "eat a apple" - why don't you eat just apples? The body needs more than just apples.
The cheesecake is just a treat. I can count the number of times I have made it this year on one hand with a few fingers left over. Some people need a dessert to pass them through or celebrate, and that is what this recipe is for. If you have questions what at least one Atkineer eats, you can visit my menu blog.
@bowulf -- Hello. Can you please help me find your menu blog. I tried to follow directions you gave someone else but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I'm new to YouTube so I don't know the tricks. I really need to put together some kind of starting point. I should mention that I am learning to cook as well. : )
Thanks for watching and commenting! This is a super simple recipe that is so adaptable to different tastes as well. I actually made this last night parfait with a hint of SF Strawberry jam. (a night OWL treat)
If you haven't read up on the science behind how lc works, then you don't "understand the whole carb thing". As for apples, they are surprisingly high carb.
Sounds good... Just be aware that your carb counts includes some fiber grams as well. I am always happy when someone improves on the standard and makes it great.
OMG! Yes yes! I'm Sorry, you are so right. I was speaking in terms of total carb count. After doing the math.... it's actually about 1.7-to-1.8 NET CARBS per total cake! Which sounds much better. My bad. Thanks for the correction. Enjoy guilt free folks!
Wow.. I bet that is an interesting cheesecake. I keep meaning to try the recipe with the English Toffee flavor DaVinci syrup. Thanks for giving back and letting us know about your experiment.
Correct - with the crust it is not allowed in Induction. You could put the cheesecake without the crust in cups and chill, and it would be legal Induction legal dessert.
Nice vid!! And I enjoyed the one with you showing your results from low carb life style. Today is my first day and I ruined it....with jello, I thought all jello was carb free and I ate a total of two and when looking at the calories intake I saw each serving had 17 carbs and I had two servings
:( so 17+17+10 (ten from when I was doing good)= failure. what can I do now?
Since today was your first day, just do another 14 days straight after this. At that point, you can decide to progress to OWL or stay in Extended Induction.
Great recipe! I would love to ask you some questions, I have been on low carb for about 4 days now, I have cut out everything except an occasional piece of fruit, I know on atkins, thisisn't allowed but for someone who wants to continue to eat fruit, do you think that I will have any success doing this? I was really addicted to carbs, that is basically all that my diet consisted of before now. do you think that I can have weight loss success by doing it this way? Please help.
Myself personally, I would cut it out for the 14 days of Induction, and if fruit was the first thing you wanted to add back in you have a great time to evaluate *definitely* how much you can have as you add 5g of it additionally per day. That's my best recommendation for sure fire success and is totally in line with Atkins.
Not everyone wants to do Atkins.. In that case I would still get 10-20 net carbs in veggies and track how much additional in fruit you are eating.
If you aren't losing or losing fast enough, cut back the fruit carbs to every other day. Could you lose successfully with 10-20g of fruit every day? Probably... Unless you happen to be metabolically resistant. Low carb is really diet of personal taste and a bit of experiment to see what your CCLL (Critical Carbohydrate Level for Losing) is.
i was jsut wondering so when you say if you want to do this in the induction stage you need to cut out the nuts do you meen taske out the almond flour?
Yes, the almond flour would not be Induction legal. The other ingredients in the crust would be, but would be more "cookie-like" than crust like. You might also need to watch the portion amount that you don't exceed your daily cheese amount.

I've always been against making anything that seems like a desert or treat with the Atkin's diet. It's a novel idea, but I don't think it sets a good example. I think eating things like this maybe on weekends could be a nice thing for relaxing. Otherwise, it's not good for the psychology and doesn't help prime the person for future success and staying away from junk.
I respectfully disagree, Robot. Had it not been for a sweet treat like this low-carb cheesecake during my 180-pound weight loss success on Atkins, I would NOT have made it. I hear what you're saying about sweet, but some of us need it.

16g of carbs with 12g of fiber to equal 4g net carbs. I would definitely not want to substitute soy flour for the almond. The almond flour makes it much closer to a graham cracker crust than soy would.
I love your vids. However, due to specific nutritional limitations (medical) that I have, I have had to adopt the Atkins lifestyle, only VERY low-fat, which as you know takes a lot of the fun out of it. How might I adopt this recipe to keep the carbs low, while greatly reducing the fat? Thanks much! :)
I typically use the Low Fat Cream Cheese, which has one-third the fat of normal cream cheese. I would also eliminate the pie crust which due to the butter and to some extent the almond flour adds a significant amount to the fat content. I would serve the cheesecake as perhaps a parfait rather than as a cake then too. You might try less whipping cream than the full cup. With those subtractions, it might be as low as 5g of Fat per server.
I use DaVinci's SugarFree syrup, and you can find the vanilla flavor at even Walmart SuperCenter. You can find it next to the coffee and tea aisle. That's the cheapest place I have been able to find it. Otherwise, you can always purchase it online.

@chartii The 2g is just for the crust. The nutrition facts for the filling is:
Per Serving: 368 Calories; 37g Fat; 7g Protein; 4g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 3g Net Carbs
Yes, the crust is fine for OWL. The only difference between the Davinci and Torani is the taste. Both are acceptable for Induction.
I am glad you liked the recipe, and the cinnamon is a good tip.

Atkins is not= zero carbs. even during induction, you are allowed 20grams of carbs a day:) without carbs you will have no energy.
violinist881 2 years ago
That's just a load of crap. You don't need carbs to have "energy", whatever that's supposed to mean. And your brain will be supllied via ketosis.
And "No Carb" ist a dietary form, which pretty much means carbs < 50g and is not the same as "zero carbs". Do your homework before you post.

How many net carbs per serving?
MrsDoll411 3 years ago
With granular Splenda:
Per 1/8 Recipe: 153 Calories; 15g Fat; 3g Protein; 4g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 2g Net Carbs
Per 1/12 Recipe: 102 Calories; 10g Fat; 2g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 2g Net Carbs
bowulf 3 years ago
From what I calculated, the total NET carbs for the entire pie is about 40 grams, give or take a gram.
1 Cup cream: 5.5 grams carbs
Philly Cream Cheese: 24 grams
Walnuts: 4 grams
Butter .1
Splenda (non-liquid) 1 gram per packet (5 grams)
These numbers take into consideration fiber already.
So, in my calculations, 1/12 is 3.3 net.
And 1/8 is 5 net carbs... but who's counting at that point. :) I'm already done. I could save up my carbs and eat half of it!

Congrats to your wife! I wish her much success. I too have a supportive husband in this diet and it makes all the difference in the world.
