  • i was searching for this song before this was put up, amazing 50000+ views in one year, people still love going back to oldies like this

  • Let's fly way up to the clouds One More Time 0:00!

  • Zero dislikes FOR A REASON <3

  • Bryl-creem and cuff links!!!

  • This was a more up-beat version, two years after the original in 1958. Personally I liked all versions of this song, a song that was hard to screw-up.

  • This was a great version of this tune as it was a kind of crossover song to pop/rock for the younger generation to let everyone know that both the young and old could enjoy it...that's the way I remember it anyway. Love Dean Martin's version too!

  • This version of this song is my favorite!!Bobby did a few versions also, but i like the speed and the beat of this version.

  • This is the first record I ever bought. I played this over and over. My parents must have covered their ears after the thirtieth time.

  • Yeah baby, this song is so cool...!!!!

  • this is THE BEST VERSION of Volare ever - so young so bouncy full of fun and joy- Bobby your the BEST!!

  • I don't know why but every time I listen to this song I always think its a Christmas song or it's Christmas

  • Bobby brought it to us kids...he let it swing and made it the sound of the times.....classy stuff from a great entertainer in the classic vein of Jolson and Dean Martin...

  • Bobby had a great voice, and face to match, his astronomical vocal talent! They just don't make 'em like this, anymore!

  • I just saw Bobby with Frankie and Fabian in Reno and he has the same great rhythm today even though he is noticeably aging (of course). He was the best of the 3. By far, the best singer. The only disappointment was no background singers so I missed that because that was a big part of the song. But, love this song and love Bobby. He was gracious tp the crowd and they all just had a great time performing.

  • Domenico Modugno and Franco Migliacci wrote the song and Domenico sang the it in 1958 and won at the first Grammy awards that year for song of the year and record of the year. It was his signature song. I do love Bobby's up beat teen style and Dean Martin's version is just the one we remember so much. Dean was one of the greatest singers ever.

  • cool

  • I love Dino as well, but I just LOVE this version even more! I was born in the wrong decade I think!

  • This Song reached # 4 on the Hot 100 in the Summer of 1960.

  • I consider this version of Volare to be in the top 3...excellent job done by Bobby!

  • You can't beat the 50's and 60's music.

  • Can't help but think of "Vamp" when i hear this song.

  • I've heard all the versions and this ones my favorite dam I wish I lived in the 50s I envy the older generation

  • @1ARMANDO3SS Me too friend. I too love to live in the Kennedy era and have such a great life then.

  • it would have been nice to live in the 50;s.. no worries, men were men and wives knew their place!!(just joking!!)BUT,,,, they had nice cars then......

  • hes so CUTEEEE (:

  • In my opinion, Bobby Rydell does the best version of this song out of everyone who has ever covered it, including the original. Met him last year after a great show he did here in Australia and told him, he was quite chuffed! Got his autograph, spoke to him briefly, he's an absolute gentleman. Great voice and stage presence, a real showman and a funny guy. He was cracking jokes throughout his performance and had the audience laughing a lot. Michael Buble couldn't hold a candle to Bobby Rydell.

  • @MrRockabilly70 IN ENGLISH, YES...But each culture makes it theirs. Peace Via Music VIVA MARIA!

  • @magcarril

Yes, I agree, different cultures interpret music in their own way. For an italian, Domenico Modugno's original version might be better, I don't know. I can't speak for anyone else other than myself. So, for me, the best version of this song is Bobby's even better than the original italian version!

The music, the back up singers and Bobby's voice just set it apart from the few other versions I've heard.

  • @MrRockabilly70 Since I'm a translator, I see things from behind-the-scene and the translation of the song into English besides Bobby's voice make it unique..Peace Via Music.

  • @magcarril

    Yes, very true. Well said!

  • GREAT cover version of the original Italian (Dominico Medugnio) version. And the

super-hot female backing vocalist on his hits was WILLA WARD....a Black woman

who originally sang gospel with the Clara Ward Singers!

This song was originally titled "Nel Blu di Pinto di Blu"...if I've got my Italian correctly. Good song to cheer one up on a cloudy day! :)

Too bad we don't have record labels like CAMEO-PARKWAY anymore. They

had some of the best musicians ! And a heavy rhythm section.

  • Bobby is great and the back-up singers make this version excellent !!!

  • Bobby Rydell had such a great voice. In my opinion, if he had chosen a different career path, he could have been one of the all-time great crooners - right up there with Vic Damone, Jack Jones, and well, you know the rest.

  • love this song

  • I hate todays musics guess people dont have a taste of music

  • known to his mom as robert ridarrelli

  • (Dino) Dean Martin did the song justice this rendition is okay but Dean did it right with his actual Italian lyrics!!

  • @allGtoG Dino was a great singer as was Bobby Rydell. Who was better on which songs? Opinions vary.

  • @John1948TwoB1a I like Bobby's better. All American just like they say

  • @John1948TwoB1a Bobby Darin doing Beyond the Sea.

  • @John1948TwoB1a Now, Dean Martin is my absolute favorite singer of all time. If i'm in a slow going mood, i'll listen to Dino's version. If i'm in a more up-tempo mood, i'll listen to Bobby's version. Depends on how i feel.

  • @John1948TwoB1a Also, Bobby Rydell IS a great singer. He's still alive.

  • @uzuhl2 Yes, I know. I would love to catch his show sometime.

  • @John1948TwoB1a i dont like Rydells version, but i have to say he has a great voice. Dino's version was Ok but domenico modugno version is the best. its in pure italian sung well.

  • Back when people can sing............He's so yummy

  • @FalseDisposition so ture

  • I'm 56 years old, and I remember hearing this song on the radio when I was a youngster...It's still one of my favorite songs!

  • Try to find voice like this today. American Idol can't even find sound like this.

They all sound the same on it

  • lov this song!!

  • This is song is amazing. His voice is awesome. :D I wish I lived in the 50s. :((
