you need to look past the face to see the pure, deep emotion in buckethead's music. listen to it carefully. get a bunch of speakers in your room, turn the lights off and just listen to colma or electric tears. feel the music deep within you heart. to identify emotion in other guitar players is easy, look at steve vai, for example. but not buckethead. his music is so deep and it reaches into your heart, only if you don't care about the mask and bucket on his head.

That's the mark of a good musician. Being able to improvise on your music shows that you're not a robot who can only play a song the same way. Sure Buckethead could but he chooses not to and jams which is a lot more interesting to listen to then basically a recording which is what you get at some live performances of shit artists and you go home thinking "I could have saved $200 and listened to the record again"
