This reminds me of my childhood. In first grade and earlier, a music teacher would come in and play songs and dance short little skits to them, like one time we pretended to be witches and warlocks to another tune. This one we pretended to be snowflakes, or fairies. Back when school supported imagination and was fun. Now it's all about sitting down and chopping stories into bits to analyze hidden meanings, never just enjoying or imagining stories.
i freakin' love this song. it reminds me of the times i sat in the computer lab in elementary school and just listened to this on powerpoint (they had this as a sound thingy to put in a slide...not sure why but yeah)! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE <3 :D (it reminds me of the christmas/holidays)
This song is amazing! It reminds of the clear winter night which sky is enriched with billions of twinkling stars! This song is the most atmospherical song I have ever heard! I like it so much! It's the best song ever made!
As much as I enjoy this, Sugar Plum Fairy always reminds me of movie "Crackers" Christine Barenski does a striptease to this fine piece of music. Hysterical.
@nfl972 I also liked this song and watched it and I'm also a 23 year old man and that doesn't make us gay at all. Everyone can enjoy this song. This song is made for everyone.
For people interested in other melodies from the Nutcracker I just uploaded a video I recorded of music from the Nutcracker played on piano by 20th century modern classical music composer, Professor Walter S. Hartley. It was his last selection at his final piano recital before he retired from teaching at SUNY Fredonia, March 1, 2000, Adams Art Gallery, Dunkirk, NY.
unbelievable artistry---and Mr. Disney's hand one ventures is guiding the whole thing---he thought with the soul of the child--most of us lose that as we grow older--I mean look at all those fanstic, whimsical details--one fairy drinking out of flower, another waking up and spilling magic out of her wand onto a spiders web.
My brother, who's 14, put down Xbox 360 joystick, came here and asked me to watch Fantasia... I'm really glad he was touched by art: this gives me hope for him.
I really wish that my band teacher would allow the band and orchestra (okay, more like a string ensemble cuz its only strings) to combime and play together this song. i love this song, it would just be awesome to play this with all of the right parts.
ETERNAL MASTERPIECE...!! This is when Disney really created masterpieces... this is so gorgeous & delicate it gives me goosebumps! too bad kids of today just enjoy violence i couldnt appreciate really tasteful & classy things these days! the images plus the superb music maestro of Tchaikovsky , it should be enough to make you cry of emotion!
I wonder what it would have been like to see Fantasia in theatres... Giant hour long jam session...? Would anyone even dare to eat popcorn for the crunching noise?
Death scares me b/c I can't imagine spending eternity ANYWHERE, not even a heaven. But I honestly think I could spend forever in the world shown in this video.

Yesterday I was playing myself some video games on the pc then this song came in my head for no reason...
I finally after 10 hours thought it was Yoshi Story music somehow. Well I was right, it's used in Yoshi Story Baby Bowser Lullaby.
Then a comment bought me to the original song we got here. fantastic?
