  • youtube should start counting number of replays too :P

  • waoo what a voice and poetry.. love the music too

  • Every poet has been influenced by Ghalib but you cannot find a trace of Ghalib in Faiz style of poetry, even Iqbal who is larger than life. yet there are two poets who are so full of youth in their poetry, Ghalib and Faiz. and then we have the legendary nasir Kazmi and faraz.

  • Simply awesome..

  • There was there is no poet like Ghailb in whole world.

  • @FjordHawk

    this was Faiz!

  • SUBHAN'ALLAH........ v.bautiful kalam

  • no doubt Arshad Mehmood is a beautiful composer...awesome!!!

  • plz guys..faiz didn get no idea from anybody...he is describing exactly what happend with him...he is talking about army in pakistan...he used to write about army and thats why they keep putting him jail and once they kicked him out from pakistan...

  • @a4astroboy1

in last two couplets Faiz has used 2 lines from one couplet of Ghalib..

Ghalib's poetry has great influence on Faiz..Even his first book's name Naqsh Faryadi is from 1st ghazal of Deewan e Ghalib

"Naqsh Faryadi hai kis ki shokhiye tehreer ka"

And remember a poet becomes great only when he takes a stand on his ideas.he is still alive in our Hearts because he stood against wrong and said wat is right without any fear.otherwise he was also gonna lost in pages of history..

  • This is a lovely ghazal, but I am a little confused about the last part because it seems to be Ghalib's? Either way, the rendition and kalaam is still wonderful.

  • It is common practice amongst poets of urdu shairi to borrow from ustads. Faiz has cleverly used Ghalib's shair "hamain kya bura tha marna, agar aik bar hota" in his nazm. This is not piracy, rather an acknowledgement of the mood and message delivered by the Ustad. Faiz's kalam has also been used similarly by others'

  • This is not ghazal, it is nazm (poem).

  • it cannot get any better than this. beautiful! haunting!

  • this is deadly for people abraod , away from home

har ik ajnabi see poochain jo pata tha apnay ghar ka

  • kia baat hai tina puppu saadsani here

  • When I play this song, it comes to an end so quickly that I feel that the pain has only grabed half of my heart, it leaves me half way to paradise, I wish this song could last for ever. Thanks to Tina Sani, Thanks to Faiz Sahib and thanks again to Shahidmunir for sharing.

  • its wonderful.......... i can keep listening n listening to it n never tired...... such a melody

  • quite right Parshiwal, the melody is like a painting that remained in oblivion for so long and when all of sudden you dicover it, one thinks OMG its me there? really it grips my heart and fills the emptiness of my lonely nights.

  • Watch the pin drop silence and the audience are glued to their seats, thats what we call the magic of the melody. There is so much pain and hurt blended in this poetry, how will pay him for the suffering he went through just for the love of the country and its people. Thanks again for this very special upload mate.

  • Shahid Munir sahib don't knowreally how to thank you for uploading Late Faiz Ahmed Faiz Sahib's Ghazal, he was an unsung hero of Pakistan great patriot a great son of Pakistan, it might take centuries but people will worship him for his bravery and truthfullness and honesty. Tina sani is an outsanding singer and she has done us proud by singing this particular ghazal, she is a gem, God bless her with long life, happiness and prosperity, Her renditions in relation to faiz sahibs kalam r superb.

  • last stanza is really breath taking (if one survives to listen that....) ... all our efforts (who are away from homeland for better 'future' ... huh) are really worthless ............

  • yeh nazim hum awara gardo ki kahani biyan kerti hai.

" karain rukh nagar nagar ka"

  • har eik ajnabi say poocheen ,jo pata tha apnay ghar ka...janay kaab khatam ho gi yeh dar badari..........classic always loved it

  • thank you. faiz, tina sani, and arshad mahmood.

  • Long live Pakistan and Pakistanis, Zabardast.

  • 1 of the best poetry by faiz.

  • Kya baat hai. Khubsoorat shairi, behtereen andaz-e-bayan aru yeh mahol...lighting, sound dress..all are superb. dil khush ho gaya..

  • great composition by faiz...but it is unbelievable that a man of faiz's intellect was communist. You don't have to be a rocket scientist (on either side of the iron curtain) to realize that communism is an inherently flawed system.

  • communism was based on Marx's ideals which were not as bad as communism turned out to be. So yea just because Faiz was a communist (whatever that means) doesn't mean he lacked intellect or his intentions were flawed.

  • faiz was a great poet and a great man. no one will forget him. where are the army dictators?

  • Amazing lyrics. Faiz has been sung beautifully by both Tina Sani and Nayyara Noor. I am so proud to be a Pakistani to have such rich heritage of poetry and music. Bravo to all those who worked for this production. Thanks for posting.

  • very nice and soleul nazm. the singer has also done justice to the song.

sare kooay na shanayan aik achi bat kar gaye hain faiz sahib bhi

  • thanks for posting. very pleasant version. i prefer iqbal bano's version but this is also a delight in a modern way...

  • thanks a lot for this video, do you have other songs from this concert particularly one from nayyara noor
