the secret to mastering is listening to the sound. since he placed his tutorial up, watch and listen carefully to sound it makes. it's easier than just watching everyone else do it. jecht stops his attack less than a second whenever he does a combo, that means thats the time you press the next button and the button after that and the next

I think ground combo is the hardest and also the red circle indicates that you pressed the button, NOT press after you see it cuz it will never show up unless you pressed 1st :P

nahh, afaik the window for button press in duodecim gets wider. Combos are easier. Same combos, and there is an addition of Jecht Beam to his HP attack.

you can actually pull off a jecht blade with the "ultimate jecht shot" ground combo, you have to charge it for a second or two, then jecht will rise and hit the unbalanced opponent. This is good for lower level jechts that dont have ultimate jecht shot or jecht blade aerial and are left with the 2 grasp combos.

i time it buy how many times he uses his sword. for jecht shot it when he throws it it spins fast three times at the end and i listen or watch, for jecht blade he spins with the sword three times at the end, and for T Grasp he slices twice at the end

@ darnell16player the timing for the ground combo's is pretty tight on the first couple of hits, like it says in the description, listen for the hits and time it, it takes practice, i've been playing jecht for about a week, and its just practice.

How I do these is press the correct buttons at the right time. This takes practice. Then, when his last attack of the third attack end hits, press the HP attack.

For example, while in air, press O. Ater the first two kicks, hit O again. After his corkscrew attack, there will be a slight pause. At that time, hit down+O. Right when his second down slash hits or slightly before, do Triamphant Grasp. As I said, takes a little practice, but I mastered it in an hour. Hope this helps.

I think you missed one possibly combo, just like the ground combo instead of hitting O again do up+O and then after the second kick hit down+O and then whatever button is mapped for triumphant grasp

I know this is an old video, but on air combo 1, you could have shown the Triumphant Grasp when you weren't locked on because the air attacks are up + square and down + square. It's only ground moves that are towards opponent and away from opponent.

For some reason it didn't work, try it if you want. Either way i could have just set TG shortcut to just SQUARE without directions, but i'm too lazy lol. The important thing on that part of the vid is the timing of the square attack anyway.

The circle only appears AFTER you've done it, to signify you've done it right.

If its a faint red it means you did it too fast/too slow, if its a vivid red it means you did it just right. This is because Jecht has a lot more combo options than just these, but these are his only Brave>HP ones and are worth mastering.

But as an example: Ground->Chase combo

O, O(perfect timing), O(slightly fast timing) -> Chase

@lightangel18 For Ultimate Jecht Shot, don't double tap O, tap it after the first hit, then press Up + O, wait until he throws his sword up and you hear two hits, then press whatever you have Ultimate Jecht Shot set to. I use just regular square. As for the other ones, you're getting the first one right, but there's 2 that you need to get: one after the first hit(s) and the other after the first little combo/spin. I'm having a bit of trouble with the first ground combo, O,O,up+O,UJS. I've done it a few times, but then most of the time, Jecht will leap into the air himself instead of throwing his sword, meaning I can't combo into UJS. What I can't figure is what I did wrong when I did this - I don't notice a difference in my button presses, I THINK I'm just hitting up+O, but I can't figure why sometimes he throws his sword and sometimes he leaps after.

No, the 3rd brave attack in UJS combo is the Blade Throw which has three(3) hits... during this animation, Jecht swings his sword upward which makes the first hit, then while the opponent is airborne, he throws his sword upward which does another two consecutive hits in the air... press the UJS command on the third hit/sound you hear during this Blade throw.

Notes that might help:

- you have to press the UJS command while Jecht's sword is STILL airborne

- in the video, when the BG gets dark, it means you should have already pressed the button.

- if I'm not mistaken, that the "Uaaaaah!" sound you're referring to is when Jecht catches the meteor, it's way too late. I'm referring to hit sounds, not Jecht's manliness screams. ^^

Good luck, just keep trying, even I can't perfect it during my first few days of playing Jecht.

they key point here is when Jecht's sword leaves his hand, wait for the two hits. That's what I'm trying to tell the others to look out for.

To clear things, after you get the 2nd red circle, there are three more hits to look out for, but out of those three hits i... like 69KAYO69... wait for the last two hits(which is the actual blade throwing) for the timing, see other videos with SLO-MO if you wanna look for it.

I'm having the same problem as ChocolateNaruto. I can get the combo to the sword throw part, but for some reason I can't connect Ultimate Jecht Shot with it. He just shouts "Go flie!" and finishes the combo with a bravery attack upwards.

don't look for the circles in-game, it's hard to time it based on that, the red circles are for the video preference, press the right button exactly when the red circle appear IN THE VIDEO.

So... I noticed the whole, red circles being equal to when you should press the next button in the video.

Not exactly sure since I just started using Jecht about 10 minutes ago, but I'm pretty sure that they show up AFTER you press the button, sort of indicating you got the timing correct.

And to everyone, is it just me, or does it seem that the air combo's are just... easier to start with considering timing?

No one told you that because that's not how it works. The red circles appear when his combo continues. They just "ching" if you did it with good timing.

The ground and air combos have three sets of strikes. If you press O after the first set with "bad" timing, the red circle will appear and you'll do the first set again. If you did it with "good" timing, the red circle will "ching" and you'll do the next set. You can do up to three sets. You can do a HP after the third set with "good" timing.

Try attacking without continuing the combo and you'll notice that there are NO red circles UNLESS you push O (w/wo a direction).

It's like this:

Set one + good timing -> Set two + good timing -> Set three + good timing -> HP

It could also go:

Set one -> Set one -> Set one

Set one -> Set one + good timing -> Set two

Set one + good timing -> Set two -> Set two

The red circles will appear when the next set starts, but it only tells if you did it right.
