I am a 28 year-old college art/animation student and I grew up with the Image Comics guys!

They rule!

People who bash the Image Comics guys don't really read comics anyways.

The bashers are a bunch of 14 year-olds who would rather play x-box than read comics. The only reason that they know who Rob Liefeld is, is through these youtube videos. So the bashers are all posers!

@Rcinch1 Hell yeah!!! Image comics if you think about it dude...ette, is the frickin' umbrella corporation for all comic companies these days. They probably didn't plan it out this way, but each founding member either branched off and made their own company i.e, Top Cow, ex-Wildstorm, Aspen, and if they don't own one they're a co-runner of one-like Jim Lee is for DC. Not to mention: Rob Liefeld is one of the few guys workin' for Image, Marvel, and DC at once. So yeah, they run this shit.

I wish comics were still made the way they were in the 1990s.

Nowadays, almost everything coming out of Marvel that is not made by an Image associate looks bad.

(not insulting Liefeld) this actually really looks good. I've got a few sketches and then inked images of his. Trust me, hes actually a good artist just not great at inking. Neither is Neal Adams.

I'm not sure why people dog on Rob because of the fact that he didn't recieve any formal art training, considering many other top artists didn't have formal training either. David Finch to name one. And I can guarantee he isn't a schmuck at drawing.

I still like his work his old stuff not his newer white negative space in the background stuff. Rob you should try using a Pentel Kerry for layouts and a pentel p205 for details I tired everything Clear Points don't cut it =)

@thetum You are so full of shit. people loved Liefeld so much so he even had a comercial. The 1990's was one of the most popular times to collection comics. Alot of great artists and a heck of alot of great comics and story lines. Not to mention the 1990's is when they started making the special covers on comics.

Not sure if you still visit Rob, but I got to wonder why you take so many steps to draw a page? To each their own but I personally find it easier to sketch out your layout, then draw your details and inks over it.

Is there a particular reason you draw each character seperate, then sketch him in the large image, then trace it onto the final drawing?

Hi Rob, I have been a fan of your Artwork for ages, I still remember the first time I saw your artwork and how you exploded onto the comic book scene at your young age. You are a great person and really part of the pioneering Artists who changed the Comic Book industry around when needed most. You are on the top of my best Artists lists that have influenced me.
