You obviously don't know how MMO's work. FFXI for the 360 doesn't use the disc at all during gameplay, only uses it for initial install, and to boot up.

There was actually some gameplay footage. The footage where they're on the ship and leviathan comes out is in-game footage. The game looks beautifal. They have some screenshots on the FFXIV website.
Although I'm looking forward to XIV as well, I'm not nearly to the point of pissing myself over it.
And it will be releasing on the PC as well as PS3 at the same time. And just like XI the servers are cross platformed so PS3 players and PC players will be playing together on the same servers.

Theres a reason behind the sudden switch to ps3 exculsive. Its "RUMORED" that SE wants to make FF14 F2P that means free to play btw. Xbox is known for making money any way possible so they wanted SE to keep a monthly charge on any MMO they make well SE didn't like that and PS3 being fairly desperate here in the US. Has features apparently that would allow a F2P game to come to it.

Im a huge fan of final fantasy and i was about to get FFXI cuz i just got online but my friend said they stopped the online service for FFXI online is this true because ive beaten every final fantasy exept for that one final fantasy durge of Cerberus or whatever (hated it) but i love every other final fantasy and i really want to play online...

Square-enix have stated that they will still be maintaining and updating Final Fantasy XI and that Final Fantasy XIV is aimed at more casual gamers. I'v played Final Fantasy XI and its a very time consuming game as it's not a game you can play for a quick hour or so to progress. FFXIV is probably better suited for those people with busy lives, jobs and families etc cus its not meant to be as demanding.

FFXIV is also coming out for PC, so you get the gist that it may come out for 360 sometime after its out for PS3; probably a backup plan if it doesn't do well on PS3. I really liked FFXI, so I hope SE is opted to enhance the battle system and make it more interactive. I welcome weaponskills and skill chains, but I hope there will be more to rival WoW's PvP.
Also, Nobou Uematsu, FF music composer for most of the installments, is making his return to compose for this game!
Also, I hope there's a better balance for the job systems because BLM/BLU/SAM/PLD dominated endgame, BLM dominated Dynamis, BRD/RDM/COR was a must-have for all events (tend to leave out WHM), and etc...
Game needs more auto-translates, and Ex/rare like Ridill needs to be easier to acquire... yes i was a WAR once.

for those that dont know- there is a youtube video out there of actual gameplay from a german(? correct me if im wrong) games event- it looks pretty good, shame it seemed just like a fanbased gameplay not much detail in it, but neithertheless the seems pretty good :) lookingforwards to it myself -- Also the ffxiv website has LAODS of info on there now about storylines, races and more so thats a good palce to look too :D:D have fun !!

"We are considering all options at this time," Square Enix senior VP Shinji Hashimoto stated, via translator, at a press conference today. He stressed that FFXIV should not be considered a PS3 exclusive, noting that "all options" includes Microsoft hardware.
Also, You can play on FF11 with a silver membership. I don't know what the problem is with it coming to xbox. more community = better mmorpg.

There was actually some gameplay footage. The footage where they're on the ship and leviathan comes out is in-game footage. The game looks beautifal. They have some screenshots on the FFXIV website.

Although I'm looking forward to XIV as well, I'm not nearly to the point of pissing myself over it.
And it will be releasing on the PC as well as PS3 at the same time. And just like XI the servers are cross platformed so PS3 players and PC players will be playing together on the same servers.

Theres a reason behind the sudden switch to ps3 exculsive. Its "RUMORED" that SE wants to make FF14 F2P that means free to play btw. Xbox is known for making money any way possible so they wanted SE to keep a monthly charge on any MMO they make well SE didn't like that and PS3 being fairly desperate here in the US. Has features apparently that would allow a F2P game to come to it.

Im a huge fan of final fantasy and i was about to get FFXI cuz i just got online but my friend said they stopped the online service for FFXI online is this true because ive beaten every final fantasy exept for that one final fantasy durge of Cerberus or whatever (hated it) but i love every other final fantasy and i really want to play online...

Square-enix have stated that they will still be maintaining and updating Final Fantasy XI and that Final Fantasy XIV is aimed at more casual gamers. I'v played Final Fantasy XI and its a very time consuming game as it's not a game you can play for a quick hour or so to progress. FFXIV is probably better suited for those people with busy lives, jobs and families etc cus its not meant to be as demanding.

FFXIV is also coming out for PC, so you get the gist that it may come out for 360 sometime after its out for PS3; probably a backup plan if it doesn't do well on PS3. I really liked FFXI, so I hope SE is opted to enhance the battle system and make it more interactive. I welcome weaponskills and skill chains, but I hope there will be more to rival WoW's PvP.
Also, Nobou Uematsu, FF music composer for most of the installments, is making his return to compose for this game!

Also, I hope there's a better balance for the job systems because BLM/BLU/SAM/PLD dominated endgame, BLM dominated Dynamis, BRD/RDM/COR was a must-have for all events (tend to leave out WHM), and etc...
Game needs more auto-translates, and Ex/rare like Ridill needs to be easier to acquire... yes i was a WAR once.
I don't care much about the trailer for FFXIV because it looks like Star Wars and FFXII, cool but cliche.

From what I've seen, there's Hume, shorter version of Elvaans, Galka like being (no tail), and a Mithra like character. Didn't see a Taru unfortunately.
Most important thing: Weapons need to have quicker attack speed! 8-9sec per swing from G.Axe is just too slow.

from what i understand, theres ganna be different servers for different countries. AND yes they will have level sinc from the very begining. at least thats what they said on an interview. and in the video theres no gameplay but the battle scene where theres a galka looking guy fighting some squigs, thats in game graphics. so...yeah...at least theres that much. and its supposed to come out next year so im sure it wont be long til gameplay shows up somewhere

i used to have both 360 and ps3 but after my 5th xblock broke i said to hell with MS besides psn is just as good as live!! yeah xblock has better games right now but my opinion is that the ps3 will be the dominating system in a year or so!! especially if they decide to cut the price which i think is the biggest reason why it throws people off .
