I recorded the exact same version of green is the colour from John Peel's radio programme in late 60's on a Grundig reel to reel. I think this version much better than the LP. Where did this recording come from. Is it available commercially.
I got this version from a bootleg record I bought from a street seller in Buenos Aires, they listen to great music in Argentina. If you send me your email address I can send you the song no problem.
Thanks for the kind offer but I've now found out there are many bootleg versions available for MP3 download. I can always listen to your recording again on You Tube whenever I want. By the way in case you didn't know this recording was made for the BBC on May 12th 1969. I still think it's the best, especially the spacy bit at the end. I didn't twig until recently that it's really "careful with that axe".
Much better than original, ending of "Green is the Colour" is unique, not quite as "Careful with that Axe...", cheers.
