  • Here is why Julia is so amazing. No she does not have the best vocal range for the Role..........BUT she Acts the shit out of it!!!!!!!! She is one of the best actresses to portray Elphaba and in musical theater sometimes being the better actor is a lot different than being the best singer. I've seen this show 8 times on stage and countless times on youtube and I will say sometimes I see girls who r terrific singers but their acting is just mediocer so the performance is not genuine. Julia ROCKS

  • I can't decide wether I like or dislike Julia's performance. I think she is clearly a good actress, and I can see why people like her Elphaba, but I just don't know

  • SHE IS ON MY TOP 10 LIST OF BEST ELPHABAS!!! :D

  • @jaszon28 I totally agree. Besides, who said in the first place that The Wicked Witch of the West had to have a beautiful pop-sounding voice?

  • Oh my god that last note is insane! That is some ultra fast vibrato! I love it!

  • MOST UNDERRATED ELPHABA!!!!!

  • for the record she was sick that night...but my gawsh her "BRING ME DOWNS" just do something to me...im in love with them lol

  • @RebellionBlooms

I just know that this is a joke.

  • @DivaBehavior

    I wish it would be.

  • @RebellionBlooms HEY DONT BE MEAN!!! CAN YOU SING IT BETTER THAN HER!!! THEN SHUT UP!!!

  • @stevmar96

I'm not mean little girl. It's MY opinion. And it's honest.

  • @RebellionBlooms and its my opinion that if you cant do better you should shut up!! get it?

  • @stevmar96

    How old are you? lol

Grow up and accept other opinions.

  • @RebellionBlooms exactly.. grow up and accept my opinion!!! are you slow or something?

  • @stevmar96

At least I know how to be respectful while writing down my opinion. You are just rude and immature and totally over dramatic.

  • @RebellionBlooms yes you were being ever so kind when you called me a little girl and said shut up and called me rude and immature... god bless you for your kindness... now let me grow up here and end this ridiculous convo with someone who is just a critic.

  • @RebellionBlooms

No, I've seen her in Wicked Divas (God, I just LOVE bragging about that) and she's a really good singer (and actress) but I think you said that because this wasn't a very good example.

  • I love how at 5:02 Kendra forgets to sing. She covered very well though. :)

  • @Selftime2007 HAHA NEVER NOTICED!! =] BUT UNLESS YOU ARE A DIEHARD FAN YOUD NEVER KNOW =]

  • Madame Morrible gave her speech on the wrong side of the stage, where was this?

  • @Hairsprayxoxoful THIS WAS IN ATLANTA =] it wasnt a permanent production so things change =]

  • @stevmar96 It was? cool! I just got back from seeing Wicked in Atlanta!!!!!!! I won the lottery!

  • @Hairsprayxoxoful Thats awesome!! =] Yeah Wicked has been there like 3/4 tiimes =]

  • Best last note EVER

  • She has an amazing, almost gutteral sound to her voice. So powerful and dramatic. One of the best for sure.

  • I hope she comes back. That would be awesome! Her acting and singing are great. I can't get enough of her.

  • for being sick, she's still kicking ass :D

  • I love her "...It's the wizard who should be afraid... OF ME..."

    soooooooooooo awesome!

  • he final riff is weird!!!!

  • She's great but too much vibrato.

  • way to much vibrato!!!!!!

  • @jaszon28 Awwwkwwwaaard! But, seriously, she only looks like her in this video! I looked up photos and she looks so much different.

  • @jaszon28 HA! I think she looks like my cousin!

  • Fricken incredible. Especially that end riff <3

  • @jaszon28 But her NGD from this date is just so chilling vocally and with the acting!

  • that last scream sounded like it hurts

  • @Baltodefyinggravity

Really? I think it's the best DG final riff I've ever heard from anyone. SO Elphaba.

  • @DivaBehavior

no I mean I loved it, but it sounded like it hurt HER,

  • Im seeing Julia Murney and Erin Mackey with the Philadelphia Orchestra on the 19th!

  • Where is this?

  • @shaqman145

    It's on tour, that's all I know.

  • @DivaBehavior It's at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA. I believe I was actually at this performance!

  • @shaqman145

    1st national tour Atlanta, May 23, 2006

  • @shaqman145 Atlanta, GA.

  • @shaqman145 I think Atlanta

  • @shaqman145 it was filmed in Atlanta 2006 wicked's first national tour.

    :)

  • @shaqman145 Its in Atlanta

  • I REALLY wish they let her keep that last note...it just added such a whole new power of emotion. I think her "ahaha, and Idina's just rock

  • @degeorgetitanic

What do you mean, "keep the last note"? She's always done it like that, I think.

  • @DivaBehavior nah, when she went to the Broadway Production she did it the traditional way (like on the OBCR) but here its more of a "yodal" but a powerful one that is drawn out, she did that on tour ALOT ;)

  • @degeorgetitanic

She still kept the "yaaaah." But I see what you mean -- It was less yodel-y.

  • @degeorgetitanic

what's the deal with that whole thing...she was told not to do that correct? i know she did it most of the time for her first few month but by the end of the tour run it seemed to be cut

  • @bwayindaburbs23 There are several theories (of course no one really knows except Ms. Murney and the producers lol) but one of them was that they (The Producers) thought it was too "Yodely" and wanted a clear legatto belt. ANother is that it just became to taxing on her voice to do all the time and eventually stopped. Another is that the Producers simply didnt like it or that she became sick of it....I personally LOVE it
