  • @7noonaliciouz ok iam her cousin and she got 970 pounds no jokes her mother told us and she is in egypt with us right now

  • @7noonaliciouz sorry sorry i meant 9600 not 960 pounds little mistake =)

  • " avoided by better communication on both parties"?!?!? that's bull

  • abercrombie is selling sex and anything that disrupts this image has to be diminished , what did u expect ? its a company , all they care about is making money

  • Those clothes at Abercrombie and Fitch are rubbish!! It's cheap American clothing made by yanks!!! It's shit!! I would rather wear Hackett instaead of that shit clothing. Atleast Hackett is British!!! Abercrombie and Fitch = Abitqueer & Faggish

  • see this is why we dont like english people

  • @Darthfloor why would this make you not like English people you fucking scum bag

  • haha i know her :]

  • Look Policy is clearly defined monthly with a new packet sent to each store office explaining what is acceptable and what is not. A more thorough explination of the Look Policy is written in the hand book given out upon being hired. Every shift has a 5-min meeting with a manager, covering the days Plan and goals, and a look inspection. Clearly, Look Policy is not a surprise. Yes, the company is an advocate for store-diversity. However, general expectations remain the same.

  • My friend got sent to the stock room for a day in 'hollister' (A+F's sister store) because she had a spot. LOL! True story!

But these obnoxious individuals only get jobs because they are 'beautiful looking people' anyway. More often than not they are thick as two short planks. Getting a job there is near enough equal status to securing a photo shoot as a model.

C'est la vie! 'Beautiful people' work in fashion. That's the way it is. Sorry. I'll do something with my brain, instead.

  • @GoldenbanjoDJ LOL!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS? HOW BIG WAS THE SPOT AND WHERE WAS IT? ON HER FACE? LOL

  • @PopCulture20

    forehead! made me LOL

  • @GoldenbanjoDJ I hate "beautiful people" in fashion who think they can get away with anything. which is why I always make sure my statutory rights are protected ;) I've gotten a store manager fired once, because she tried to restrict my rights. and she was one of those "beautiful people" too. cest la vie indeed!

  • At work we have a Liberian guy who constantly bangs on about all the shit he did during their civil war. Mass rape, murder, mutilation- we just can’t avoid the depraved, graphic detail no matter how hard we try.

We’ve asked our line manager, but he says that to complain would be defined as ‘culturally insensitive’ & even ‘racist’- we could lose our jobs as a result!

I’m a father & every day I have to listen to his story about raping every girl (“even the ugly ones!”) in a village school

  • OVERPRICED AVERAGE CLOTHES. Now I feel stupid. I should apply the same formula and open a fucking store selling shirts from Honduras at 10 times the original price.

  • What image? If you aren't lily white and skinny they won't hire you? "Sorry you aren't white nor are you skinny. You don't fit our "image" policy. I guess you can work at ugly people stores like Aeropostale" What snobs. And you people defending them should be ashamed of yourselves. Discrimination is wrong.

  • its very obvious that A&F hire hot people model lookung people

so it obvious they want a certain look

    they dont hire ugly people

if they do they put them in stockroom

but hey what can you do

similar to allsaints they hire hot looking people

you dont see people doing a case about that

    what can you do

  • This is beyond anything. She's misusing her disablity to her advantage to hopefully get some bucks by winning a law suit. I still don't understand why people are still so pissed about when they don't get hired by a&f they want a certain look and if you don't have it or don't agree with how they hire. Go work at target or some other store

  • @basket4life2 The main issue here is the fact that that stupid-ass stereotype is still being promoted as "successful". That kind of mentality keeps alienatiing society with labels, which is nothing but a voluntary form of mental retardation.

  • This store fucking rips u off they dont fucking let u use ur 50 dollar gift card after u spent 100 bucks the company owners are faggots!!! I like Lacoste better abercombie is a pathetic store

  • To-to-to-to-today junior!

  • Yeah well what about ugly people?

  • I can't believe how many people are defending A&F. Almost everyone knows how condescending people who work in A&F can be. I don't feel like I'm a valued customer in the store...I feel like someone they "allowed" to come glance at their oh so amazingly(average) clothing. This is not the only case of this kind against the store either...not to mention the recent news about the poor pay the models receive. A&F is a snobby store and I make sure they never make a dime off me.

  • @Skatingangel44 your talking out your ass, everything you said is bullshit and i dont understand why people view the store and its employees that way. it seems like only the people who work for the brand know wat its really like

  • @nexongamecard Ummm my best friend worked at Ruehl for a year and my other friend is currently employed at A&F...I'm not "talking out of my ass" ...I'm talking from personal experience and from employee experience

  • @Skatingangel44 well im sorry that your friends are "condescending" snobs and treat customers poorly and with discrimination. i know me, personally and all my fellow co-workers, including mangers and along with the store itself are not in the slittiest way anything that you have described.

  • @Skatingangel44 And I don't see how A&F is still in business after so much discrimination came from that company over the years.

  • the interview woman didn't do her research very well! she kept getting it wrong! ha FAIL

  • Thats bullshit. This had nothing to do with her "disability", IT HAD EVERYTHING TO DO WITH HER CARDIGAN. Way to take advantage of that "disability".

  • i swear the the woman interviewing kept getting it wrong! nearly ever time she said something, the two guests had to correct her! :P

  • I don't see how A&F actually attacked her for having a prosthetic arm. So they talked over the problem and they okay'd a cardigan, the problem was that she most likely hadn't picked the right cardigan. A&F also does not simply give away clothes... that's just not how it works.

A&F gives you a booklet on the 'Look Policy' which clearly states what is okay to wear. If you don't dress the part, the store usually sends you home. At least she was able to continue her shift in the backroom.

  • ok...they sent her to the stockroom because of the cardigan. not her missing arm. so...???

  • thats very unfair

  • well the only thing i hate about abercrombie and fitch is the fact that the pictures on the walls are naked i thought they were modeling clothes?? if they are they shud have them on , they shud not be holding them butt naked??

  • shes lying.

  • to be honest, ive been a manager of Abercrombie & Fitch in Toronto and these kind of reports are pretty bullshit. issues like this occur at every retail store, or restaurant, or club but those places don't get slack for it. Abercrombie is just an easy target because society interprets it as a mostly white, all-american brand. I am NOT white, and we have taken several courses, workshops and company-wide education calls to become more aware to avoid issues like this. so, don't believe these people

  • She is gorgeous, A+F are fucking horrible, evil racist bastards. If you dont look like a perfect, tanned supermodel you get glared at by everybody.

  • They can't discriminate on the bases of having a prostetic arm.

    This is discrimination

  • Why would they hire her in the first place? They don't have to tell you the reason for not hiring, just say she didn't get the position. I know someone with a prosthetic leg that works at abercrombie...she's a great employee and she's treated like everyone else.

  • abercrombie is a SCAM. If your gonna go there look carefully for what you get. Oh yh you look like a fucking idiot wearing a big hoodie with furry letters stuck all over it saying 1992 or whatever. DONT LOOK GOOD !

  • She's pretty which means she got the look but apparently if you are disable that disqualifies you on the spot. For what it seems, The "look" also includes NOT being disable. For shame~! What a disgrace having those douchebags from Abercrombie & Fitch representing our country with THEIR small-minded so-called American lifestyle overseas.

  • @Cargo1273 Don't be an idiot. Any store has standards. Especially stores like abercrombie and fitch. They hire workers that give their clothes an appealing look. Any store would do the same. This girl didn't get fired because she had a prosthetic arm, she got fired because of her cardigan. There is no disability "discrimination" here, just a girl using a cheap and dirty scheme to get a few cheap bucks. If anything the girl should be ashamed of herself.

  • its not really news worthy is it... well i guess it is GMTV soo

  • she's actually a very pretty girl

  • Like, regardless of how many arms you have, you're absolutely beautiful and are an asset to this world. You go, girl!

  • The look policy on a cardigan would be to wear an Abercrombie & Fitch one or one with no logos or designs which fitted the A&F look. Also the look policy states it must be the right color, all upper clothing must be either a shade of grey, navy or white (sometimes red is allowed & certain selected clothing).

It's very likely that this cardigan didn't fit the look policy so she couldn't be on show and had to be in the stock room.

The problem is the cardigan not the false arm.

  • @thomasbrunskill I'm a law student, and I can tell you that the court will have verified all of these possible excuses before ruling in her favour. English courts and the European Court of Human Rights take a very strong stance against discrimination of any kind, there really wasn't any excuse on Abercrombie's part.

kudos to Riam for standing up for her rights! those looking for excuses for A&F, you sound like absolute idiots. at least find out how the law works.

  • @thomasbrunskill the essence of the case was A&F's unreasonable & differential treatment against a disabled employee, not a silly cardigan. are you employed by A&F to post such silly comments? I can't believe members of the public can be this stupid.

  • People who work for that company are going to defend it. There IS a specific image they they have to keep, but there should also be more opprotunities for people to work there. For my lowly town, there's a spectrum of people who are employed by Abercrombie. Surely other areas are the same way.

  • What Happens If You Arent Wearing Their Look Policy And They Tell You To Go Home And Your Start Cussing At Them ? I Know Its A Dumb Question But I Want To Know (:

  • @MGMTkiddd Depending on how rude you are, you can get a warning or even be fired.

  • tbh if she didnt ave the look then fair enough, but she s really good looking so im surprised they wouldnt give her a job, cause she is very pretty

  • She's hot

  • dude i'd fuck her still

  • Her face looks as fake as her arm

  • if they wouldn't have hired her then she would have sued still for that would go against the people against disabilities act (at least she would claim that)

the problem that arose happened because she wasn't wearing an A&F cardigan she was wearing one that was from another producer

If ANYONE were wearing that they would be sent to the back to do shipment or sent home

I work there and have been sent home for not wearing the correct jeans and yet i didn't sue

  • whats discrimination?

  • That's why hate A&F. She's really nice

  • the reporter gets everything wrong lol

  • @neverxneverx Then they should not have hired her in the first place.

    They brought this on themselves.

  • @AllorNothing129 if they wouldn't have hired her then she would have sued still for that would go against the people against disabilities act so she had a plan either way for suing

  • @neverxneverx you would have bombed so hard as a lawyer on this case for either side.

  • @neverxneverx yeah, like you can't be a man and work at hooters (at least not as a waiter).

  • @neverxneverx its like burger king promoting meatball subs

  • So people Abercombie and Fitch have a history of discrimination that dates back to 2002 (google it) against latinos, blacks, asians, middle easterners, and even europeans.

  • @ferdjmax123... learn how to spell. then talk to me.

  • When associates are not in Look Policy most likely they're sent home.. That goes for anyone, so i think they were at least nice enough to let her finish her shift.

  • She's too attractive to work there, most of the 'London' models are plain.

  • @samabercrombie Are you joking?

  • @LewisT92 No, I am serious. She is better looking.

  • Abercrombie and Fitch is a bunch of shit....like most designer labels. You're paying for a stupid name.

  • @1flamerz you like balls

  • Lol walking in to an A&F store is like going to a cheap dance club - only with slightly more arrogance expected.

  • british want to be like americans? yehh alrite jogg on. twat

  • i think it's reversed...or should be. i'm american. =\ sad time. shit.

  • Bitch.

  • Also Lace Face has commented on alot of A&F videos. If A&F happened to see the things you have been writing you would probably be fired because someone that says the things you have been saying does not project the image they want.

  • I worked at A&F on the floor at 2 separate stores during college in 2003. Each store was a bit different about their expectations in clothing. However, it was both clear you HAD to buy their clothes and wear clothes IN SEASON, thats why they gave you 40-50 percent off 3-4 items during season change. But maybe her store was different. Ive heard managers joke when hiring they are to ugly for floor, they will be in the back... This is a practice at alot of A&F stores.

  • @pele0069 you worked for A&F in 2003? a whole lot of shit has changed since 2003 buddy

  • I'm sorry you feel that way. Our business makes plenty of money with the image we have chosen to promote. : )

  • so what's the ideal image you "models" are trying to portray ? you guys are just full of shit.

  • Associates are ENCOURAGED to buy clothes from the store, but not required to. What we wear to work is like our uniform, just like any other professional business. The cologne, the darkness, and the loud music are all a part of what we call, "store experience.". Whether people are saying how much they love our store or how bad they hate it, they're still talking about us. The more talking, the more curiosity...the more curiosity, the more potential sales. I worked in the home office for 3 years.

  • first of all ur not aloud to wear ur own clothes so they wouldnt have told u to buy ur own cardigon, also weve had girls in there that have borrowed cardigons to cover there tattoos so there wouldnt have been a problem at all! im also sure this girl was in impact so the stock room is where most of the impacters work :-s confused much

  • sorry second post. yeah i dont shop there cuz i hate that store. i only get jeans there cuz of the qualility.. and its usually online cuz i cant stand the stench in abercrmobie, its like jeeeeeeez. lower your prices and lower the cologne/perfume

  • Even though its stupid, the store does have an image... I'm suprised she won, even though with the disabilites act (idkwtf im talking about), cuz i know people cut from american eagle bc they didnt have the look..

  • i just hate their look policy. i once went in to print my schedule, and i wasnt wearing their attire, and they just bitched at me b/c i wasnt wearing their clothes and my flip-flops. And it was in the middle of january. how the hell am i going to wear sandals in the winter.

  • LaceFaceAR, it was about her disability, if it wasn't then why did they constantly bring it up to Riam? Why did they ask her to buy a cardigan to hide her prosthetic? If you look at previous law suits against Abercrombie & Fitch, it goes to show that their so called "looks policy" is something straight out of Nazi Germany.

  • @someguy6481 hahaha you fail at life

  • @xeno865

the fact you defend a racist and fascist company shows you have truly failed at life.

  • This wasn't about your disability. It was about a specific "look policy" that A&F has. First of all, Abercrombie and Fitch doesn't sell black-so you can't wear it. They probably suggested that you buy a cardigan so that they didn't have to have a conversation with you about you "arm warmer"-because THEN you would have had a reason to raise hell.

And yes... You are definitely wearing too much make-up to work there anyway. : )

  • Good for you, well done and all the best in your future....

  • Good for you. Not enough people have the courage to take on these corporate fools.

  • Well done, Riam - standing up for your rights is incredibly important!

  • good on her, glad she won her claim!

  • i love gmtv
