Deleting the hateful comments would be the same as pretending Dan doesn't encounter this sort of ridicule and misunderstanding in his everyday life. For many, Dan is difficult to understand. People fear what they don't understand, and that fear turns into hate. The goal of the doc is to enlighten these sorts of people, but some people are clearly not willing to learn.

Dan looks like a big 4 year old toddler kid thats off to see the circus. He'll see it but won't understand it. He so desperately wants to fit in with normal people.
