  • are u from new york u have that akcent

  • @iflynitro Nah NJ near Philly!!☺

  • I swear you said "Obama Gas" haha! My grandfather use to clean his tools with Coke. At least that's what I remember him doing. That Obama Gas is amazing. I like how you label your parts too, that's smart, I have to start doing that.

  • @kookiemoose Yeah sometimes I don't get back to a project for years if at all, so labeling helps alot!!☺

  • how hard are the old hit and miss engines to work on compared to th newer small engines

  • @V8power923 About the same, some are not as complex!!☺

  • Sounds like Racer dont have alot of confidence with you and stickers! lol! Amazing how nice that things looks inside, I'm sure It'll look brand spankin' new when ya get done.

  • @draywanda Thanks Buddy!! Lil Racer is just covering his bases eh!!☺

  • it looks to be in good shape. dont fix what aint broke is what dad told me.

  • @MrBlueroads Dad's right!! The paint is broke, so that's all we're gonna fix!!☺

  • @805ROADKING dads allways right, father knows best.

  • @wolfsheadoil Thanks Mike!! It is quite relaxing listening to the Jukebox and drinking a cold beverage while tinkering with it!!☺

  • That Obama gas works great for stuff like that. It's gonna look nice when it's done, looks in great shape as it is!

  • @1972FordF150 Yeah Matt, I was surprised what great shape it was in!!☺

  • Lol nice use of the nyrtlye gloves it's amazing how well those work to keep you from getting all nasty when you're working on things. I still don't get the fascination with those hit&miss motors though, is it just that it's interesting how simple they are ? or that they are that simple and that old and the basics of engine principles. You know i ran across something the other day where they use dry ice to blast parts clean with. it's simple and better for the environment than sand blasting

  • @daddytech Yeah I like the nitrile Gloves, in case I gotta answer the phone or take a leak. Ya don't get grease all over everything!!☺

  • @805ROADKING yeah those are one of my major tools which reminds me i think i need a new box now.. lol

  • cool project buddy :)

your not gonna bore me .

make more videos on it .

  • @500passwords thanks Buddy!! We're gonna try to make ya proud of us!!☺

  • i need to find myself an old hit & miss

  • @outdoorsman310 that would be cool, they're alotta fun to play with!!☺

  • Nice engine!! That is an "Economy/Stover" engine. Yours has the teardrop shaped holes in the flywheels where stover CT-2 has the round holes. The top of the water hopper is more rounded on yours. Stover "Coffin top" engines have sharper edges on water hopper.. These were supposedly made for sears & roebuck.. I love the "Obama" gas your using. "That is about all it is good for nowadays"..

  • @9020powrmax Yeah this is the 3½ HP the same as the CT-3!! I'm glad I found a good use for the gas because all it does is screw up the carbs on all my engines!!☺

  • Can't wait to see it all painted up. I know it's gonna be sharp.

  • @RamblinAround Thanks Jeff!! We're gonna try and make ya proud of us Buddy!!☺

  • Billstmaxx on youtube is another good guy for stickers. He's also into old hit miss engines.

  • WEAR GLOVES when using gas for cleaning parts. My Doctor told me that after years of cleaning parts with gas might have something to do with me having Leukemia. But I did it when gas had Benzene in it.

  • @231flash I hear ya Buddy!! When you're young ya don't think about that stuff. I Painted cars for a living when I was a Kid, didn't think twice about cleaning something or washing your hands in lacquer thinner, enamel thinner, alcohol, MEK, trichloroethylene, gas or any other chemical ya can't pronounce!!☺

  • @805ROADKING I've done it all too. I painted cars also , sometime without a air mask.

  • I should try using gas to remove paint on my Ariens engine!

  • @craig1974 Give it a try Buddy!! Let us know how you make out, or make a video of it!!☺

  • You have a nice collection there. Looks like you do some good work. Thanks for sharing.

  • @mdlrr1 thanks Buddy!! thanks for checkin' it out!!☺

  • Its going to be nice all fixed up.

  • @ShawnCFarm we're gonna try to make it a Show Stopper!!☺

  • damn thats in nice shape!

  • @1944johndeerel It must not have seen much use at all, all the gears and bearing were like brand new!!☺

  • Hey, how about a video of the Empire running now that its cleaned up, painted, mounted and presumably running right?

  • @userunavailable3095 We can do that!!☺

  • very cool. i'm sure ive told you before but my grandpa did small engine repair for a good 20 years in a shop and then out of his house all of his life practically. made some good cash just as a side job. neat to see whats inside those old buggers!

  • @paradoxdesigns Yeah I remember ya mentioning Grandpa!! me and him would have gotten along great!!☺

  • Looking good. Id love to get one of thees engines...Wow gas makes a great paint stripper...who would have thought...

  • @IHcubcadet Thanks Cubby!! The old gas never did that, it must be the ethanal at work!!☺

  • @805ROADKING That explains why the paint on my gas-tank got all messed up.

  • I would love somthing like this set up on a permenent stand at the end of my workshop rather than alot of "common" Lister and Petter engines. great work! will have to try that petrol stripping at some point.

  • @crankupchris I don't know how well your petrol will work, over here in the U.S. they're making our gas with ethanal. It only lasts about a month in an engine, but it does take paint off pretty well!!☺

  • Wow, you're not kidding! The engine is in fantastic condition! I've always soaked parts in gas to clean them. That's the old school way buddy! Very cool decals. I can't wait to see this project all complete!

  • @greggfla That's what I was doing, I just wanted to get the grease off but this new fuel took the paint off with it!!☺

  • Well, that's a lot of work for rebuild a engine like that, I think on some there go's a lot of time in :)

  • @MagicCadillac Yeah it shouldn't take us too long to finish it!!☺

  • Don't worry about cramming this engine down our throats...This is facinating.

Thats a clean engine bud! It will turn out nice.

    Great vid bud

  • @mbyr31 Thanks Buddy!! I knew it had great compression, but I was really surprised how nice and tight everything inside was!! if you guys keep watchin, I'll keep postin'!!☺

  • Nice engine.

I must say, I really would take the head off and scrape the carbon out, I bet it will be thick with carbon. Other than that, as you say it's all in such good shape!

I'm restoring an Amanco at the moment, but thats not quite so good as this...

  • @steamwally You're right Phill, I'll probably take the head off. I have it tore down that far, I might as well do it right!!☺

  • sweet little engine what the age on that do u know

  • @demojoe13694 It was built in 1935, so about 76 years old!!☺

  • Sure does look good for such an old engine. Do you know what the engine was built to power originally? Do you think the paint is original or maybe someone repainted it with a cheap paint and that's why it's coming off so easy?

  • @edzgarage Nah Don't know what it was use for, but it wasn't used very often!! Someone did spray it with a cheap spray bomb but even the original paint is coming off easy. I doesn't look like any type of primer was used though!!☺

  • looks shar

  • @picapop12345 Yeah it's in pretty good shape, should look good when its done!!☺

  • Do you bring these to shows. wow he done a great job on the Decays. how many of these engines do you have. looks like ya have a lot from this side.

  • @larrythelookout Yeah we show them, got one this weekend to go to!! I have 4 big hit and miss type and about a dozen smaller antique engines!!☺

  • @805ROADKING i have to dig deep then...in to your videos to catch a look. Thats if ya made a video of them.

  • Nice project gonna be nice to follow this .

  • @VE9REJ thanks Reg!! We'll try to keep it interesting!!☺

  • Thats a sweet old motor buddy. How many horsepower them old motors put out

  • @200mmonster Thanks Buddy!! That is only a 3 1/2 HP!!☺
