  • @brokenhoghead

Get a grip on reality dumbfuck.

  • Sitting behind elementary schools, circa 1972, drinking warm beer we stashed in the woods, and fuckin jammin out to The Who. We had Live at Leeds / IOW out in the woods. Yeah......

  • I even love the Townshend nose !

  • ive watched this over so many times and i cant fucking believe this is a jam .... FUCK ME!! O.O... what a band

  • @MusicIsDeadToday some opinions are worth more than others

  • led zeppelin is better

  • @ClassicRockMan95 nahh chill man

  • pete:powerfull guitarrist.

    keith:sicho drummer.

    jhon:bass of hell.

    roger:incredible voice.

THE WHO:BEST BAND OF ALL TIME

  • @juan13579run someone in the documentary about said if they had saparetly different bands they all would be epic :D

  • pete= one of the most underrated guitarrist of all time

jhon=one of the most underrated bassist of all time.....

    :'(

  • @juan13579run

John is the bassist of the millennium, so he was definitely given the credit he deserves

  • I just bought my retriever a Who tee shirt. This one of their best shows and Entwistle is wonderful.

  • ENTWISLE'S STYLE IS TO BE IN THE BACK GROUND, LIKE SO MANY OTHER BASS PLAYERS

  • @twilliamsusmc His sound sure as fuck isn't in the background. He was easily the best musician in the band.

  • what an annoying camera gimmick; oh well playing is sweet

  • you won't find this on X Bollocks Factor !!

100% pure... Rock and Fucking Roll

  • moon, in any other band, sounds like SHIT... more john bt also pete made him sound AMAZING! Keith moon is 100 percent best drummer, same goes for the ox john entwistle! both masters of their instruments... townshend? kick ass riffs and even amazing lyrics that inspire so much bands!! roger? love u hahaha :D love the who though... their all amazing!

  • what song is this? IS it a cover or were they just improvising

  • @sulmagnificent - The song is called "Water," but it was born out of live jams. It was released as the B side to two different singles, "5:15" and "Love Reign O'er Me." It also appears on some of the remastered and deluxe CD re-releases.

  • @TuberOnTheLoose thanks a bunch, I found the studio version on "Odds and Sods" and on the deluxe version of who's next in case someone else is looking for it

  • @TuberOnTheLoose do you mean this song was born out of a jam session following on from when they performed the song water at some other previous occasion or something ... cos the song water sounds completely different to this jam and they performed that song anyway earlier in the set list of this very show so this cant be any part of the actual song as they would have performed it then ??

  • @arealOpia1991 - Everything in the first minute is from "Sparks" off of Tommy. Then Roger sings some lyrics from "Water." After that it does sound like total improvisation. Sorry for the confusion.

  • @TuberOnTheLoose cool thanks ... that's okay ... no offence tho but that's what i thought

  • YEP he really has got a big nose looks like a turkeys arse to me,anyone read his autobiography yet "PICTURES OF LILY".

  • Gosh Pete Townshend REALLY have a big nose. But he's still gorgeous and freakin' awesome ! (like the other three :D)

  • ♥ 1:15

  • 1:42 - He needs "Water, good good water"

  • @loonymoongirl Mesmerizing blue eyes...a trait Petey shares with my sweet babboo!

  • My sweet babboo has never made me hornier than at this very concert!

  • noooooo..... sounddddd toooo epic!!!!... NNOOOOOO!!!!!! *computer stereo explodes*............................... well seeing this video in exchange for my comp exploding was definitely worth it :D

  • Was Keith secretly competing for a wet t-shirt contest or something??

  • Oooooooow Fuck!!

    Rock N' Roll!

  • Super good !

  • to be quite honest kieth's drumming was unique no one yet has ever bested him i saw him live many times he was wonderful to watch

  • @adders45 anyone like who who has seen him play live ... fuck i cant evn say how lucky you are and how jealous i am ..aaaaaaaaa... and i totally agree with you no one has - he is totally UNIQUE

  • 333333 view yeah!!!

  • LOS MEJORES CUATRO MUSICOS PARA SIEMPRE.

  • Too fine for this place.

  • Did some one speed up the parts with Moon in this video ? Or is he just a ninja ?

  • why isn't entwhistle in the title of the video...

  • Comment removed

  • @Muzikman127 Just look at 0:42

And if you can't see him, just feel that bass, feel it, HE WAS, HE IS AND HE IS GOIN' TO BE THE BEST BASSIST EVER!

  • @mikeytheghostbuster better than Paul?

  • @DaveS12382 Better than Paul, Better than god

  • @mikeytheghostbuster I guess that blows roger waters out of the equation. Hmm, well if its any concellation Moonie is it for me as drummer just utterly and completely and funny how he predominately watches Pete and just riffs of him, as oppose to the classic"bass/drum section, he brings it on another level and to have who you think(and let me interject Jack Bruce) the greatest bassist is is sort of left on his own to play geniusly which I agree. So I'm guessing the Who are your favorite band?

  • @DaveS12382 They Are, for life :D

Of course there are so many great bassists, But you said it the right way, The Who = MY FAVOURITE BAND :D

    What's your favourite, btw? :}

  • @mikeytheghostbuster The Beatles.

  • @DaveS12382 they're a good band, I have to admit :}

  • did keith play without hi-hat?

  • Keith moon is really hot

  • Got this concert on DVD. Incredible amount of music from three guys and a singer.

  • beam me up , this is ROCK!!!

  • @NinjaKidLesPaulDude if you think passion and feeling trumps technique you could say joey is one of the best drummers in the world but he is no where near one of the best. so passion means nothing if you cant play

  • Comment removed

  • @NinjaKidLesPaulDude passion and feeling can only get you so far, to truley express yourself you need an understanding of theory and technique so you have a basis on which to go on when the passion comes out. If you play guitar you understand me perfectly, and if you don't - you're one of those ignorant posters with uneducated opinions.

  • This is one of the best improvisations ever...

  • wtf everyone forgets John Entwisle!! the greatest bassist ever. without him this sound crap (well actually, keith and pete alone still sound awesome..., but still you guys get the point)

  • @0funmaster0 : I'm with you. The Ox has no equal. I see that Roger is touring a "Tommy" show. I can't see how they could find anyone who will fill his shoes, not to mention Moonie's.

  • @0funmaster0 Agreed - they were all under rated as musicians, Pete is a simply incredibly original guitarist!

  • @0funmaster0 there are a lot of drummer jokes out there but really the bassists are the ones always overlooked :(

  • @0funmaster0 yes,in every genre the bass is the support of the music, and when you got on the bass to the greatest player of all times, you will have a great music, jhon "thunderfingers" entwistle are the best bass player of all times even on his dead R.I.P.

  • ive been looking up drummers all day looking for who i could call the best as far as rock goes and damn everyone keeps saying keith moon vs neil peart and hahaha to that keith moon sounds like every other drummer ive ever heard and has no technique what so ever . PEART ALL THE WAY

  • AHHHHH!!! FUCKIN MOONIE!!!

  • keith moon , que tipo mas simpatico y talentoso

  • 1:40 - I had no idea he drank water. ;)

  • @rossobass420 Or in the Who, BRANDY!

  • @johnandhisdog Haha, my point exactly.

  • The Who were the first heavy metal band! The first punk band! The first grunge band! Listen to all their stuff.

  • @johnandhisdog Nah, not first Heavy Metal band. Bands like Uriah Heep and Black Sabbath were the first.

  • Oy Townsend when youve done that ,come and finish painting my house!!!

  • Keith Moon has the look of a child playing. In the body of a God playing the drums.

  • sound quality blows

  • I don't need water, I need The Who to play a concert in Sweden!

  • ahahaha keep pressing 1.

  • @drumbs sooo true!!! It's happening the same thing to me!!! :D

  • The who and the beatles are my bands, but I may have the beatles by a little bit. RockON

  • from 1:44 to 2:00 Keith looks HOT!!! <3

  • @lyds97 Surely he does!!!

  • O......M.......G....... O.O

  • what fucking animals these guys were!

  • The best band I've seen live, and I was there at the IoW in 1970.

  • Oh my God I was born in a wrong time. Keith Moon is my idol! I should've been there at IOW, having wild sex with Keith! :(

  • Whether anyone wants to admit it, TOMMY changed this band for the better ! They were on fire '69-'70....

  • 2:25 - Pete invented moonwalk !

  • Comment removed

  • ooooooooooo I wish I had an SG with P90s.

  • everyone is playing in this, its unfair to call it a keith/pete solo coz john bass is going apeshit on bass in this

  • Why did God have to take Keith Moon and John Entwistle? Why cant he take Justin Bieber?

  • @Bballjunkie42

That's proof there is NO God dude. Cuz if there was Justin Beiber and Nickelback would never have been born and Keith and John, Jimi, Morrison, SRV, Lennon, Bonham, Freddie, Allman , etc etc would all still be alive. No God.

  • @AngusShanks And Bon. How'd I forget him?

  • Keith Moon. king of the fill.

    greatest drummer ever.

    R.I.P.

  • @wue2117

I know the guy was a specialist in that area. more faster then bonham and anyone else theres been IMHO.

  • Did Pete do a short moonwalk at 2:25?

  • Greatest live band ever. No one else is even close. Seeing this video is better than seeing another band live.

  • I really wish Pete would've pulled an Abbie Hoffman on the dude sitting on the stage who keeps acting like a damn fool and getting into the camera shot.

  • i can watch keith drum alllll day

  • awesome..but i would like to say..FUCK YOU to google, for ruining youtube, every other comment i make i have to type in one of those stupid things to make sure im not a fucking spam person or whatever

  • Keith is a freak back there

  • Thanks for the vid...Keith was really amazing...Pete also

  • i would like to say this is what makes the Who better than Led Zep...

  • @ultramagnus58 well..yeah haha

  • 7 people said no to somebody's daughter

  • @whyamiherewtf made my night..thank u very much :)

  • no Who without Keith.

  • Rock n roll used to be awesome

  • Lets all be honest. The who where pretty much shit after keith died

  • @wendywolfman kinda....but when Starkey came along they were great once again, they turned into shit after Entwistle's death....

  • Keith Moon was the Greatest Drummer of all time.

  • yeah, the rest of us are lame. 2 guys (pete and keith) were up on stage and delivered that, and what have i done?

  • What an absolutely smoking video, however, how is it called a "Townsend/Moon" solo?.....It should be called THE WHO!.......Thunderfingers is shredding just like everybody else...geez

  • John Bonham Keith Moon and Ginger Baker are the greatest drummers to ever bless this world with there gifts of sound=)

  • @leoru - Go check out a Buddy Rich solo on the Yube and it could change your thinking or at least add an addition on to your foundation. No one could play like Buddy and he did it all the way into his 70's. Moonie is my favorite drummer but Buddy was simply the best ever. The story goes that in heaven a drum solo was heard that sounded like Buddy and the guy waiting to get in said, is that Buddy? he isn't dead, and St.Peter said, no thats GOD trying to sound like Buddy Rich.

  • @Cooleemee43 oh hell yeah man buddy is amazing to i also like peart a lot but those 3 i listed are my favorites of all time =)

  • @leoru Roger Taylor, Cozy Powell, Ringo Starr, Zak Starkey...

  • 0:14 to 0:24 : Roger Daltrey sounds so much like Robert plant

  • @666tabarnak other way around dude plant tried to imitate daltrey vocal style, hair and how he dressed

  • @666tabarnak other way around dude plant tried to imitate daltrey vocal style, hair and how he dressed

  • There's a cut in the video and music at about 3:12 and again at 3:16. There must have been more to the ending bit that they didn't think was neccessary so they edited it together to end the song quicker. Boo!!!!

  • is this a song they wrote?

    its fuckin great

  • @eazyduzitjacob its their big my Generation finale, it's just a 15 minute epic jam.

  • i liked the way keith 's drums are shaking while he is playing and the middle cymbal stand that is leaning to the left.it shows how spontaneous these musicians were!

  • ridiculous drumming, the best in the world, best gutarist to

  • I'm guessing that wasn't water Keith just tossed down his throat..

  • It's a Townshend's Moonwalker at 2:26?

  • Being a bass player myself, John has a HUGE influence on me. And my gosh, I'd totally buy that skeleton suit. It's so badass.

  • Can someone please tell me the name of this song?

  • @marcchainb

It's an improv they came up with after performing My Generation. It's a thing they do most of the time in live shows.

  • PURE HARD ROCK

  • what song is this?

  • @qwerty09121209 its fuckin IMPROVISED!

    pure genius.

  • @eazyduzitjacob Ohh ohkay, I thought it was a video taken from the middle of some song, coz then id have searched out the full version :D These guys were fuckin insane \m/

  • Lol why the fuck is John supposed to look like a skeleton?

  • @ShotGunAnd

    he was wearing an outfit...

    not "supposed" to wear it...

  • @ShotGunAnd No one payed attention to him ever, so he dresseed up as an skeleton! And, well, it worked OK, though Pete and Keith still got the spotlight :D

  • CHECK THIS OUT AT ABOUT 3:00 MINUTES IN,

PETE AND KEITH ARE ONE....THIS IS THE MUSIC THAT CHANGED MY LIFE AND MADE ME PLAY DRUMBS.......I'VE SEEN "THE WHO" 33 TIMES , 28 W/ KEITH MOON , 11 TIMES IN THE FRONT ROW IN 5 DIFFERENT STATES....!! WHAT A FUCKEN BAND ! WHAT A FUCKEN VIDEO !

    THANKS FOR WATCHING / LISTENING.

  • @drumbs AHHHHHHH I'm SO JEALOUS, how lucky were you? To see Moonie with the Who, OMG Jesus you are so lucky

  • @drumbs How are your ears?

  • @drumbs Damn !!!! I think Moon is my fav Drummer of all! Pete aint to shabby a guitar man and Rodger,,, He he he, He is just HOT!

  • @inatizzy2 You better you bet Roger is hot! And huggable, sexy, snuggly & gorgeous, too!

  • @drumbs you've been in the front row 11 times? no wonder you're shouting.... you cant hear yourself anymore

  • Best band evar!!

  • You can see the mania in Keith's eyes as he waits to get going. Watch his staring at Pete. They were a band within a band. How utterly unreachably great were The Who?

  • The Who and Led Zeppelin are the best at improvising music on stage. They're not performing "Water", Roger just didn't know what to sing, lol.

  • All four were amazing. Together, they were a juggernaut! Roger - Chip on the shoulder, huge voice, killer front man, Keith - Arguably the best rock drummer of his time, Pete- Arguably the best rhythm guitarist in rock and awesome song writer, John - The best bassist in rock, and terrific Ox! - Mike

  • A chainsaw ripping through fucking daisies

  • listen to johns bass .. unreal

  • I've heard this song so many times and wished I was playing it. The are no bands around today that can touch these guys. They were the best. I was fortunate to see them in their hey day including the last time the four of them played at MSG(3/11/76). My kids and their friends just don't get it. There really is something to be said for teenage wasteland

  • @WHITEBOYPRODUCTIONS4 I'm with you, brother. Saw their show Aug. 4th, '76 on that same tour in Andover, MD. The power of The Who was shattering live. I'm glad I got to see Keith before he died. Keith was unbelievable. He, Entwhistle and Townshend put out more music than a six piece band. They were phenomenal, and today's players just can't come close in live performance to what The Who did live. You had to see it to believe it.

  • A prelude to thrash metal, The Who certainly were ahead of their time!

  • roger reminded me of plant in the beginning with the ba ba ba ba ba

  • with the camera already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The cameraman couldn't diside if he should zoom in or out ^^

  • These boys arent stoned. They were just a group of well adjusted young men from the english country side. Very proper and upright and against all things impure and wicked. After this show they probably went back to their hotel room and had a bible study group and a nightly cup or hot tea before bed.

  • which keith's kit was that ?

  • this is just awesome awesome awesome rock n roll

  • Sheer Class!

  • Moon.

I love that the drums look like they are actually in his way.

  • lol, Roger's reaction to Pete's voice at 1:26

  • Moon was a fucking animal on the drums. God Bless him

  • the one part almost sounds like zep

  • The WHO in its PRIME!! period.

  • man...i had the isle of wight performance on dvd...looks like i'll have to buy it again, the quality online is just not even remotely as good :(

  • sounds zepplinish..I like it

  • This song is Water! From Quadraphenia

  • @Jaysin13 thought water wuz from Who's next

  • @unreadmessage34 it is

  • @Jaysin13

it's an outtakes from Who's Next Deluxe Edition.

  • Man, never heard The Who play something this heavy. It's pretty cool haha.

  • @dahuterschuter ..LMAO..heavy..?..what eva you say..
