One prediction I have is the creation of a "citizen army" by the Obama Administration. I have $1400 in debt from a TV/game console I bought like 8 months ago before any of this crap was really going on...I have 3 years to pay it off at zero interest. I've followed the webbot stuff and even have a copy of a recent ALTA report. I'm finding the whole thing pretty iffy right now, I have to say.
That being said, I do believe this is a year of transition. Some experienced it in 2008, but I think it will go mainstream in 2009.
I don't care what the price of a TV or BMW will be, but I care about necessities, and I think in the April-June frame they'll go way up, and this will cause BIG problems. I think we'll see unrest because of it. FWIW

I think the Russian prediction can be safely discounted simply because it was on CNN, which would probably not have been allowed to be broadcast over the "mind-control box" by the higher- ups, if it were part of their plan.

They say govt employees will desert their posts if they aren't paid but I'll try to stay. I fix public transit buses and that'll be an increasingly important vocation as the depression progresses. I have a frugal attitude and can sometimes repair a part as fast as replacing it. As parts become more scarce that will be an important skill. I suspect We'll be getting part of our pay in IOU's or coupons in the future. I've arranged my finances so I'll be able to live on it. I'm ready!
