Nice video.. i see a ranger kiting with damage bonus finally not running backwards or sideways like many noobs out there...

I have a question regarding the video footage... I believe u used fraps to capture the ingame scenes but can u tell me pls what codecs program u used to get this quality video for a streaming site? I agree, it's good to see the right kind of kiting. It is really hard to blame folks though. When I started I did the typical strafe/backpedal because I didn't realize how Aion works. The auto-facing abilities make kiting a dream in this game once you get the hang of it.

Something i've wondered for really long is if you can change the size of ur character all the time? Maybe not while playing exactly but if u log out and u can change ur size then? I meen the height of the toon/character :).

you can change the size during the creation but after - never, (at korean server you can pay real money and change appearance again only after that)

Ranger's natural accuracy is enough.. for pve..

at low level some rangers use accuracy buff for pvp, but at high lvls accuracy is enough for both pve and pvp.

if assasin starts the fighting first at high lvls 95% that you are dead (if you are mage or ranger) nothing will save you.. just stunned, you cant run

You think that Aion's pvp happens when you want? (you come to abyss, find some guy, etc)

You're peacefully grinding solo or in party on YOUR land (not in abyss). And some bitch alone or with somebody (asasin) comes from shadow from behind (you cant see it, you cant know when you will be attacked), 3-5 seconds and ranger is dead. 5-8 seconds and mage is dead.. At high-lvls (38+) at my server assasinations happen every 15-45minutes.

At 45+ assasinations happen every 5-15minutes.

And they make you pissed of! cause you cant do nothing (cant run, cant drink hp potion (stunned), your cleric is sleeping), you just stand, watch your death and smoke....

he will wait when they become busy with mob Then he'll appear kill you and maybe them or kill you and run away.

Glads, templars and healers are not so easy to kill but assasins are not stupid. They stand near you invinsible and wait until the mob cut half of your hp and then they attack.

There is no protection from this.. There is no anti-invisibility skill from 2 lvl invisibility (only assasins get it at 40 lvl, it works 30 sec, 10min cooldown time)

how do you tell the differences between the types of mobs (like elite, normal, heroic, boss), and what were you fighting?

that mob was elite.

Do you see mob's hp?

If that line is narrow it is usual mob.

If that line is wide and has that thick frame, it is elite mob.

Boss's hp look same as elite mob's hp but line is longer.

Heroic boss has the longest line and there are little wings on the frame.

Do you see the circle on the left and points in it? It shows the strength of monster (mobs of every type can have different number of points in circle)

Cirle is red, that mean that mob is agressive, green circle - passive

And if its not asking too much i have a few questions for you about the game and the class.

Iam playng as a ranger and iam still at lv10, and i feel pretty weak, ive been told rangers only shine after lv 25 thats about right?

also, is that monster you killed some kind of special mob? i took a while for you to kill him by yourself, maybe iam just spoiled by Wow, but levling like that can b slow

Rangers have problems in pve only at low lvls when there is not enough skills, but dont worry about it.

There are 4 kinds of monsters (different hp bars):

1. usual (1 player can kill it)

2. elite (party 2-5)

3. boss (4+)

4. heroic boss (24)

Elite mob is a mob who gives the most exp.

Most classes cant kill it solo, they have to find party or do quests or kill usual mobs to level up, it is very slow.

Better to kill some elite mobs solo (as rangers ans spirit masters do successfully)

Ranger and SM are very strong in pvp.

But at high lvls assasins own all. (undetected invisibility + stuns + amazing crits + godly attack speed)

Another classes as gladiator or chanter are bad in pvp before they get 44lvl+ and normal equipment, after that they become much stronger, but assasins still own all xD

so from what i saw in videos in aion we have 3 range dps classes (ranger,sorc and spiritmaster) and someone told me that ranger 99% kills the sorc in pvp and that spiritmaster is weak in abyss cause summons cant fly..is that true?can u tell me what u think about this 3 dps classes from your experience in aion

Well.. Ranger really kills sorc in most situations. But if sorc will catch ranger during grind by "hellfire" from the sky under sorc's and mob's attacks ranger will die.

SM is NOT weak in abyss. He dont need pet to own. He is a kind of mage (forget l2!). He deals most of his dmg by awesome debuffs that he can cast when he is ruing/flying, root and slow are also casted very fast during running/flying.

Sorc cant do that he needs to stand and cast stand and cast. SMs are afraid of ranger's silence but if you play SM good you will own the ranger, but if ranger plays good too he dont let you to own him xD SMs are really afraid only of assasins at high lvls. Moreover it is hard for them to kill tanker.

But sorcerers are owned by most classes if they are first attacked by them .. it is hard for them to protect themselves.

SM can protect himself very good by "fear" skill, but not from assasins at high lvls.

Talking about ranger: imho ranger is stronger in pvp than sorcerer (not because of damage but because of good surviveing) but a bit weaker than SM, SM is a master of controls and his dmg is higher than ranger's dmg. Moreover ppl become disoriented when SM is with his pet, they dont know what to do often.

But rangers have invisibility wich helps them a lot if they want to attack in the most comfortable situation and if they want to escape from tanker/glad whom they just cant kill at high lvls cause of high pdef/hp,high glads dmg.

Anyway, i will dissapoint you also.

All these three classes are owned by assasins at 45 +.. Rangers dies faster.. 3-5seconds..

Nobody switches between ranged/melee weapon. Melee weapon is uselees for ranger.

Yes his damage with melee is the same as assasins but you forget one thing:

1. assasin has controlling skills (stuns) and he can easily get to the target's back to use "backstub" that helpes him to survive, ranger cant do that

2. Ranger has defence even weaker than mage (mages have shield buffs).. if you go to fight with asasin on swords even if he has 1 sm of hp and you have full hp he can own you at 3 seconds.. you will just cant do nothing while standing at his stuns.

Talking about gladiators and tankers.. you will do nothing with the dual swords to them.. their hp and defence is amazing moreover glad's attack is rather strong .. one time you will fall at the ground next time he rushes you into air after that you are almost dead. The only way to win - to keep distance. In battle with ranged classes they will slow and root you with duals and you cant stop them.

talking about mobs:

1. Assasin has big problems in pve because he has to heal after eath mob. ranger has problems with mp you want to have problems with hp too??? (this is only about usual monsters)

2. Assasin cant kill solo elite mob. Ranger can.

That mob on this video could kill me with 2 hits ;) Ability to kill solo elite monsters is the ranger's advantage over other classes. It is faster than grinding on usual mobs/questing/playing in big party

Moreover buying 3 good weapons (bow+dual swords) is too expensive. I can do that but i wont.

I've really never seen a ranger who used dual swords (im playing different characters from november 2008)

Though you can use dual swords at low levels when there is not enough skills for bow.. but i'd recomend you to buy one good weapon and make it +10

At high lvls rangers have enough skills for bow, they dont need melee attacks.

To reply to all of those I do find it rather expensive to keep up with bow/dagger though I find them quite efficient in fighting. Though my fighting style is far different from yours so it is a matter of interpretation. At higher levels it's not really needed since there are so many bow skills though if something gets close it is more efficient to simply dodge,counter,backstab, retreat slash. Also Melee can do as much, if not more damage than bows when it crits. Depending on gear of course.

You can use WASD, besides you can make practically every button on your keybord do what you like. (just write it in options of the game)
