so what are your impressions of the new r1? any diff from yours other than the obvious traction control??

@frostyisag10 there is hardly any change other than T/C for this bike. its really sad. a couple of design changes as well. most people can just save cash and buy a used one instead of the new R1.

@frostyisag10 Smoothed out ECU, more torque in low rpm range and slightly better handling on road/track due to revised rear shock. Better stock bike overall.

@Adeysworld would you say its worth the extra $2k in getting a 2012 or should i just get a leftover 2011. i plan on getting an exhaust and pc5 after a few months so i think the low end power and powerband itself should be very smooth.  so really i guess is the traction control really worth the extra money?

@frostyisag10 The traction control is not worth $2k. Get a 2011. You can buy a bazzaz z-fi TC or get the ECU reflashed to YEC spec. Either option is about $600 and you can use the rest of the cash you saved to buy a full exhaust with money left over for a dyno tune.
