  • It's been so long since I had a onigiri, but I still think that the 7-eleven onigiri is one of the most brilliant innovations in history----you unwrap the onigiri and the nori is fresh and crispy as hell. 2-thumbs up to whoever came up with the idea. I miss the tuna and mayo onigiri!

  • ahh i see. i wish they salled this in australia. :(

  • does that mean ongiri is made fresh every day? if you have to eat them before the day ends?

  • That's right. And if it's left unsold, they will throw it away. But usually it'll be sold out, coz it's like a Snack for japanese people. And during the busy days, it's very convinient to eat them as lunch.

  • MMM!!onigiri's are my FAAAVVOOORRIITTEEE type of sushi!!!there so...delicious!

  • a person in America that doesn't know a lot about Japanese culture could learn a lot from you.

  • Thank you. It's my pleasure to share this culture.

  • mine isnt crunchy like that

  • where did you buy it? It depends on the wraps, the rectangle-shaped one are usually wrapped in such a way that it's still crunchy when we open it. But the rounded one are usually not double-wrapped so the nori (seaweed) became damp from the rice. :D But both are tasty!

  • Very nice those videos you record..fun to watch and full of usefull leasons..though a citizen of the world I suppose you are..till now I didn't hear anything bout Belanda..though its a part of Indonesian history..I regret to say for some preferrably a part to be forgotten. Anyway..I can't wait till the video in which kamu bicara bahasa Belanda sedikit2..sampai.

Have never seen this here in Germany but looks like a great snack ... more healthy than chips and the other stuff you can get here as a snack ;o)

  • lol, yeah i think so.

it is indeed healthier, maybe japanese snack is one secret behind their healthier body weight. we even prefer to drink non-sugar tea than cokes to accompany our snacks here. ^^

  • hehe, I drink tea never with sugar and only sparkling table water ... but my problem is the good tasting food here ;o)

  • I have always wanted to take an onigiri back to America to show my friends, but it would be spoiled by the time I got there, so now I can show them your video instead. BTW, Nina just watched this video with me and now she keeps saying, 「おにぎりほしいの!おにぎりほしいの!」I guess I'll have to go buy her one.

  • It looks like you are eating the wrapper.

    Lol.

  • indeed she was...

  • I look forward to eating these in Japan. For now, I will have to be content with the ones sold at May0May, on Pell Street, across from Transfiguration Church (on Mott) in CHinatown NYC, and perhaps in Mitsuwa Mart, in Fort Lee, NJ.

  • I didn't know how to open then at first (many many years ago) So, I would open them wrong and they would fall apart.

Lots of gaijin don't eat the のり. I think, they think you're not suppose to. So the onigiri falls apart...

  • hahahahahhahahaa that's funny. :D

  • No time left to eat at midday either.

Anyway my stomach could have resisted if my heart didn't have already surrendered.

  • hehehehe jaman dulu aslinya bulet, pas masi dibuat pake tangan, sekarang pake mesin jadi rada susah, mbungkusnya juga susah kalo bulet. jadinya segitiga dehh..

  • yah ketawan deh.

  • gak papa deh yang penting nyampe...kehkehkeh

  • I was caught a little offguard when you bit into the outer rapper not knowing that it was edible and according to your post it cost less than a buck, that sounds like a great little meal.

  • I like it with wasabi n soy sauce n tea. oishi ne.

  • Now that Im hungry.

  • Nice vid! There is actually a much better way to peel off the packaging. Then you dont have to be oily or sticky on your hands. :)

    - Robert
