  • just use jb weld....works WAY better than gorilla crap..Lol just jokin..GOOD VID!

  • stupid americans its not a pole its a rod a pole does'nt use a reel and u dont cast out with it

  • @ItsReelFishing ..get a life ass wipe

  • @rrssmith just saying americans r retarded

  • not that you duumy

  • Get a real good rod and its all covered under warranty.

  • Silverstein in the background :D

  • The second method is to use a carbon fibre material. Use a stint as in the first method. Make sure after the stint is inserted add epoxy to the break. Let it set til it gets sticky then wrap the carbon fibre around 2 or 3 times depending how big the rod blank is. Add a coat of epoxy then put heat shrink tape around the area and let stand for 8 hours. Sand ,then paint.

  • I looked at the video and there are 2 ways I found to fix a broken fishing rod. The first way is to first clean the break and cut both pieces at an angle to fit together then add a stint ( as I call it) about an inch and a half. Epoxy the stint and the 2 pieces together. Find a piece of an old rod to slip over the break ,epoxy over the break. Sand it down a little but not to much so the fibre breaks loose from the rod. put a finish epoxy on then paint it whatever color the rod blank is.

  • R U kidding me thats the crappiest repair job I've ever seen and would never hold up to a fish. I have repaired a lot of rods and trust me this is NOT how to do it.

  • @FishNFoolLures

where is your video then smarty-pants?

  • u a dick in the uk we call that a rod

    lol

  • This might work up towards the tip but if the break happens along the mid point or further down towards the butt then that wont be strong enough. A better fix is to find an offcut of a blank to use a a sheath or ferrule and glue it to the pieces over the top of the break. bind over the top of the whole thing and use a strong rod epoxy over the top. the advantages of doing it this way is that itll be stronger, look better, there will be less of a flat spot and proper epoxy wont perish as fast.

  • i have a carrot stick that just broke 7 guides up (the last 6 inches of the rod) and its hollow... and it is also no where near a guide! if i do repair it with thread it will loose its sensitivity, and that is why i bought the rod! could i use shrinking plastic to fix it? or do i have to stick with the "thread method"? i also need it to be *amazingly* strong, because the lake i fish there are too many lilypads in the water to *not* get hung up... HELP!!!

  • very useful tip thank you. i had a rod that broke that i was hoping to fix. it is very important to me. thanks for sharing your tip.

  • Thank you. this video was very useful. I had a rod that was very important to me that now i can fix. great tip once again very useful.

  • One of my favorite 10' 6" steelhead rods broke about 1 1/2 ft from the top. I've been trying to find a dealer to fix it but there is no one around here. The pole broke right off (no where near a guide) Do u think this method of repair would work for this type of break? I really don't want to move my guide, and the rod was repaired by some dip shit at a sporting goods shop about 10 years ago and last wkend just fell apart .

  • hmm. I dont think it will. It might take a bit more than work, what is the pole made of?

  • @BELLDOGG2 So you broke your pole, got it fixed and the fix lasted 10 years? I would say you should take it back to THAT guy - but calling him a dip shit, you don't deserve someone that can do that kind of work.

  • @BELLDOGG2 i did the same thing, thought of a great repair, but you need an old rod you dont use anymore.

i used tube cutters to cut out a section of the old rod (the section has to be slightly smaller than the broken section of the rod to be repaired) and inserted them into the broken rod, making sure to really jam it inside so its a snug fit.you might need to trim the tips shorter as you go to make it fit perfectly. then, tape it with a strong fibrous tape,i used hockey tape, wrap fuckin tight

  • what is guriala glue? i dnt think thy have it in the uk anyway my crack is nowhere near an eyehole but would this still work? and what did u use just nylon thread and glue? ill try.

  • That type of glue is much like super glue but more ridgid. In any case, try using small pieces of metal ( example: the metal clip on a ballpoint pen) any piece of small gauge metal should do. Bend the pieces of metal to fit the contour of the part of the fishing pole. Then follow the rest of the instructions in the video. :)

  • its called Gorilla Glue, its sold over the counter at any hardware shop.

  • what if my pole has a crack length ways?

  • thats an interesting question, im not sure how that could happen but never the less. i suppose you wouldapply a thin coat of appoxy down the length of the rod and clamp it tight then go from there.

  • did you step on it?

  • Thanks for the tip and thanks for taking the time to tackle an issue no one has posted a video for (at least not in my preliminary search). There's one rod I'm very fond of that I'd hate to toss. Have u had a chance to test the repaired rod in the field with water and other elements?

  • unfortunatly I have not had a chance because of super cold weather here. I am planning on going out fishing in the near future. as far as the gorilla glue is concearned, I can, with fair certainty, say that the gorilla glue with not be harmed by freshwater. the gorilla glue is extraodinarily hard when it dries so i dont forsee it being a problem. I will post a new video when i test it. be looking out for it :)

  • you talk too much and show to little

  • sorry you feel that way because the point was clearly demenstrated. Use your intelligence to figure out what you need to do next. I gave you all the knowledge its your job to figure out how to apply it.
