this song means more to me than any other song I've heard in my life. It helped me with two deaths that happened less than a month apart to cancer and miscarriage. Hearing this still hurts, but it gives me strength to look at the people I have now and that the ones I lost are not really gone. R.I.P Aunt Polly and Gabriel Shadow!
On the way to the cemetery to bury my brother, this song came on the stereo, it wasn't planned but he loved 'Sevendust' he introduced me to their music. R.I.P my beautiful big bro. xx
I've heard this song about 500 times and it somehow always gets better. Especially when u understand the meaning. Especially when your own personal experience is involved. Thankyou 7D. I will not forget..
lol Anyone with a good voice rocks ... no need to bring race to music ... it's the one thing that brings us together ... please try keeping that way >>>> peace
these guys are the most under rated act on the planet, every time I see them in person they get better and better, it pains me that they dont get the recognotion they deserve.
@ronhagberg It was also written for Lajon's brother who was killed in a shooting... The wrote it for both of them. Thats one of the main reason Lajon tears up and/or cries after almost every performance of it. Every once in a while if you watch certain videos you'll see Lajon's parents in the front row balling along with him over it. Its quite a emotional and touching song when it comes down to it
@JeevesMorris1 Lajon's brother died after the song was written. I worked security at one of their shows, had a chance to meet them, and their crew. I heard the story of the song and what it means to Lajon.
@ronhagberg Really? Huh. Thanks for the correction. A buddy of mine thats listened to them for a long time told me that was one of the meanings. Glad I know the real one.
@JeevesMorris1 the song did take on new meaning when his brother died, and he sings it for both of them now, so that's why Lajon cries when he sings the song now, so that part was correct.
there are certain songs that bands just shouldn't cover simply out of respect. This would be one of them, it's just not right, it was written for a specific person, and was written to be sung by a specific person and performed by a specific band. Cover Bitch or something, come on man.
I've seen Sevendust 6 times and they kickass each and everytime. I would love to see them incorporate a little acoustic into their set just to see it once. Seeing them again in three weeks, i'm pumped!
This is such a great performance. He has such a powerful, raw voice that just really gets to me. And his face contorted in a emotion as he sings. I fucking love it. Not to mention, I find the lead singer so damn sexy. :p
Just seen them last night! As a special treat for paying full price for my ticket (they changed the lineup after I got mine) Sevendust played two songs acoustically for us before the show. This was one of them, and I have to say it is absolutely incredible to see performed in person.
Bradley? are you talkin about Brad from Sublime? cause this song is about James Lynn Straight, the singer from Snot... although brads damn sweet too. Both are huge losses
I absolutly LOVE Sevendust. They can do no wrong! Haha
I've them 4 times and they are BY FAR the BEST live band I've ever seen. They fuckin Rock! <3xoxoxoxo
