You also forgot one thing: in the '60s to release a sexually-heated song was not a sure business. For much less they threw out songs. They repeat the words bc if u want a WOMAN u need repeat her what u want from her... true ha? I remember in 1967 when I've heard first time, I was crazy about this song. If I hear it today, of course I wouldnt even notice it. Time has changed.
@ElBoogieAmworld Really? They just repeat the same words over and over and thats revolutionary music? WOW and im ignorant because I disagree with you? If you look at my channel of all different types of rock music on there.
I was so lucky to see The Troggs live in the days of hearing this stuff for the first time. The Copper Kettle in Andover, Hampshire was the legendary venue to see the band in the 60's.
Here's the beginning of Garage, Punk and Grunge all in one group. One of the best groups to ever come out of England. Highly recommend their 2 LP set of most of their better songs. What more needs to be said in a song??
@realgonzo1 if by beginning you mea influence then yes cause everyone knows iggy started punk, the bands in the fifties are where garage started(i don't know a specific band), and the sonic youth are the first grunge band
@thekillers1stfan You might want to rethink your historical accuracy before you put this as your answer to the PUNKROCK 101 final exam, cause it's a little bit more complicated than you realize. It would help if you dropped the labels like "punk", "garage" and especially "grunge". Also, check out bands like the Sonics & the Monks before you give all the credit to Iggy & the Stooges, as great and influential as they were, you might be suprised.
@smokeemonkee i was replying to realgonzo1 and when i say iggy started punk i mean that every other good punk band took influence from him and he really got the chain reaction started
The MC5 shamelessly ripped this one off as "I Want You Right Now" on KICK OUT THE JAMS. You can also tell Iggy & The Stooges must have been big Troggs fans as well. Definitely ahead of its time -- thanks for posting this!

Worst SONGS EVER! Did they put any effort into this track? The only thing that rocks is the guitar.
musicfan088 10 months ago
@musicfan088 They put more effort into this track than you did to get it. This was pretty heavy for 1966.

It's got a really great rhythm and where it's so heavy, you can hear how grunge came to be. :)

@ErtiaLedo I was thinking the same thing - downtuning just to make it sound darker and more meanicing - rebelious.

If these guys only had Marshall stacks!
The Troggs, Link Wray, Kinks, and the Kingsmen were all early examples of ass-kicking music.

This is what you get when you take rock and roll and strip it down to the core- Two chords, one verse, a very basic beat, and a guitar solo.
