  • Does this steam loco still run??

  • Comment removed

  • @pianomanmaestro Yes it does. People are still filming her, running.

  • And 1522's legacy lives on as the bell on 3751 sounds like 1522's bell

  • not very enviromently friendly are thry???

  • @saabnut98 who gives a crap? and they polute less then you enviroMENTAList's prius so quit whining.

  • @saabnut98 More enviormental than any car.

  • @saabnut98 Besides, these behemoths are a part of our history. We should admire that our ancestors were able to construct these iron horses without all the technological wonders we have to aid us now.

  • @saabnut98 What comes out of that locomotive is about 90% water vapor. What comes out of a car is pure carbon.

  • Awesome!

  • slightly unfortunate that the passengers got standard amfleets with no amtrak dome, but i guess that's better than nothing. i'd love to see it lead a surfliner in service for kicks.

  • Question, is the steam shooting from the top just access steam being vented from the boiler in the beggining of the video?

  • @waterglass016 this is the safety valve venting excess pressure.

  • Wish I had been born 30 years earlier to see these works of art passing my house every day.

  • i would love to see the day when these magnificent pieces of american history will run the rails again

  • awesome.

  • So, is there a reason why this train needs the Amtrak P42DC?

  • @Guser223 The P42 provides power to the passenger cars, and is there as protection power in case 3751 encountered a problem.

  • @ConrailJon ok

  • Aw yeah. Love seeing that black smoke billow out of the stack.

  • I think the diesels and the electrics lack the aura and soul of these steam locos

  • You couldn't be more right.

  • @nxtvctm couldn't agree more

  • @nxtvctm Well put
