These are the very first generation HD 4850's with the single slot cooler design. They were designed to run this hot. I own a second generation HD 4850 from XFX with a dual slot cooler and it idles at 40C, while at load it does a max of 70C. And for reference, I also own a first generation 9800GT from PNY with a single slot cooler that does 72C on Idle and over 100C during load.

its normal temrature for you card then you are playing game you should only worry if it goes up over 75 degress i had the same card

Wow. My HD-4890 idles at 40c with the fan only at 45%, and has yet to go pass 60c on full load...
