  • Have you heard about Ashwagandha? Rodiola and Ashwagandha seem to have alot in common. I appreciate your input, and keep up the good videos.

  • @flash2focus

    I have not researched Ashwagandha.

The impressive thing about Rhodiola Rosea is the researchers from the University of California, Irvine, have found that it increases the life span of fruit flies.

I an not aware of any research showing that Ashwagandha can do that.

    Thanks for your nice comment.

  • @tiatdivad Nice talking to you.

In a speech a few years ago, Abram Hoffer, MD PhD noted that he had some fourth year medical students come to see him to learn about his nutritional treatment for schizophrenia -- which he discovered more than 50 years ago, but it still has not been recognized.

Dr. Hoffer asked these students how much training they had gotten on nutrition in medical school.

They said they had a one-hour lecture. That's it.

No wonder doctors focus on drugs and not nutrition.

  • @tiatdivad Thanks for the tip on astaxanthin for inflammation.

  • @tiatdivad Unfortunately, the drug companies also pay some doctors.

You can search for your doctor by going to .propublica [DOT] org.

Click on "Dollars for Docs" at the top, then search for your doctor.

    It is all very unfortunate.

An article in the NY Times titled "Harvard Medical School in Ethics Quandary" revealed that many professors had been paid by the drug companies also.

One professor had been paid by 47 different companies.

So medical students are getting biased info towards drugs.

  • @tiatdivad I agree completely.

The drug companies also get the researchers and Key Opinion Leaders in the areas of blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes to keep lowering the cutoff points in order to define more people needing their drugs.

For example with blood pressure, the cutoff used to be 160/90.

Then they lowered it to 140/90.

Then they came up with Pre-Hypertension at 135/85.

Now anything over 120/80 is Pre-Hypertension.

It's all nonsense to sell more drugs.

  • @tiatdivad I agree completely.

  • @tiatdivad I agree.

Unfortunately, they scare people into taking blood pressure drugs, cholesterol drugs, diabetes drugs, bone-building drugs when most people don't need them and would be better off not taking them.

The people writing the national guidelines on blood pressure and cholesterol and diabetes and depression have all been paid by the drug companies, so all they say is drugs are the answer and more people should take them.

They never talk about natural treatments.

  • @tiatdivad You might watch the clips of "Our Daily Meds" where Melody Petersen is being interviewed by Bill Moyers.

She reveals a lot of stuff about the drug industry, about professional medical organizations sponsored by the drug companies, about Key Opinion Leaders in medicine being paid by the drug companies.

An article in the Los Angeles Times in 2004 revealed that over 500 scientists at the NIH had been paid by the drug companies.

You might watch "The Marketing of Madness".
