keep doing your thing man. I personally don't make kind of this music on my mpc, but this is clearly a bold and unconventional way of playing the mpc and I think it's ingenious. Fuck the haters bro
I find it a bit depressing how people make uncorrelated stuff like this to try and poke fun at genres like breakcore and glitch when they're actually really missing the big picture of how technically great it can be.
@DJeATt If you go to my "Podcast" page, you'll see links and sample audio files of some of my CDs. Though I don't have a CD of my MPC stuff up, but lots of other stuff is there. F7sound.com/podcasts.htm
@DJeATt Thanks!!! You can hear lots more of my stuff on my Difficult Listening Channel Podcast which is on my website: F7sound.com . I do have CDs available as well.
@makometeor Interesting... I never thought about it that way. I have no idea if anyone has this kind of music on their player. My guess would be that there must be some, somewhere. But I didn't create this with that intention. I just created it to create it. I had fun.
@F7sound I actually have some pretty idm things who fuckedup my ear more than this but what you play isn't melodic at all and it was the intention ! Nice vids
I understand what you were trying to get at with using the word troglodyte to describe purists of traditional music, but it doesn't make much sense. You should have probably used a word like snobs, as the current traditional form of music is not as primitive in nature as this glitch music. Also, when it trying to make your point, it helps to use correct spelling and spacing, or you'll typically come across as a moron with hardly any idea what he's babbling on about.
the problem with this video is that it's an MPC, so those viewing it are expecting some 4/4, snare on 2 and 4, hiphop beat with an old R&B fragment thrown on top, where they can be like "ooo! phat beatz dawg!" Open your ears, this guy is reimagining the use for this kind of gear. let go of your expectations and judgements, appreciate what he's done.
why are people hating on this? this is fucking great!! love seeing an MPC being used to truly mangle and craft sound rather than all the silly hip hop it normally gets used for. wonderful work.
YOU LIAR! You totally sped up the video. The unfortunate part (for you) is that you can see your cloths in this video. You can see them shift unnaturally fast. Regardless of how fast you are moving, your cloths don't ever move like that!
i think you wasted $700. im not trying to be a dick, but how in the fuck is this type of music appealing to anyone? the best part was when it was over. what is the purpose of this 'music'? i dont get it. enlighten me
actions usually have to have purpose or they are purposeless you see. the purpose of music is to bring about certian peak emotions and basically guide the listener through their own set of emotions and memories. you should take that madness and try to give it some purpose.
this music disregards normal forms of musical expression, such as constant meter, melody, harmony, and replaces it with sound in its purest form. it is sonic experimentation - taking aural fragments and reassembling them into kaleidoscopes of shifting phrases. i find this kind of expression exhilirating, and a true pleasure to listen to.
Thankfully! Someone is using the shit out of an MPC for more than 'bangin' out da beatz, yo..'
I'm trying to decide between an MPC (500, 1000 or other) and the Roland SP-555. Any thoughts? The Roland has a bunch of parameters that one can freak in realtime, but the sequencing is a bit wack. Any thoughts?
I haven't messed with the Roland products and this is my first MPC. But I chose the 1000 over the 500 because of the extra pads though I wish the 1k could be battery powered. Otherwise, I love the AKAI. I'm using the stock OS on it and it works great for what I'm doing.
I did try the sequencer on the MPC and it's pretty straightforward (though I'm not using it in this video). But, I can't say anything about Roland's comparable products.
:) NICE
