I think the england shirt should be based on the Templar Knights lol see how much that'd piss off the PC brigade! But at the end of the day our colours should be red and white! almost every other country does it (exception Holland as Orange is the Royalty's colour)

St. George all the way, the shirt should just be white with St. George cross (maybe offset) and white shorts red trim and either white socks or red socks! Keeping true to our flag! But it'll never happen

Fair enough then let`s stick a bit of lilac and pink in then . The blue comes from the Union Jack. Which incorporates Scotlands lag ....blue and white. Only recent years has it been realised Englands flag is red and white St George. Our arch rivals are Scotland they would not play in Englands colours similar Liverpool would not where Everton blue, United wear City`s sky blue and so on. The current blue is there because the three lions in blue is The FA`s emblem NOT Englands .

Ok as you know what you`re talking about tell me where the blue was other than the FA lions crest in the `66 world final kit if we have always had blue there ? Scotland have actually worn red on their kit on many occasions thus making their colours red, white and blue. What some people don't realise is that not every national team plays in the colours of their national flag, Englands colours are based on the Football Association's colours of red, white and blue. Considering that the English FA was the first in the world formed in the mid 1800's when the British empire was at its height then it's not surprising that the Union flag colours were used.

are you fooled? Slovakia was the game, but Umbro have categorically denied theis will be the new England kit, and thank goodness too. They are changing the emblem, making it lighter blue and lots of other stuff, th designers said they really are working on a design that's traditionald anf inspirational!

They even visited museums and got Capello in on it, if that was the result of all that talk, even the adverts of it, where just the words "new England kit" looking classic I'd be disappointed

Well this video was released before they said it was fake, however i'm not so sure. Maybe they are changing it now it has been leaked. The reasons for this are that the umbro crest is red, which is the new one and the thing in the bottom right corner is authentic. However this may be a training shirt or something. I can't be certain.
