  • Enjoyed your video.  I have spent 55 years in the telephone business. The Motorola Cell Phone that you refer to as the "brick" phone was the first hand-held analog cellular phone in commercial production. It was developed between 1969 and 1973. It was a joint venture between Motorola and AT&T (Bell Labs) The FCC would only license the analog cell phone as "Experimental" I made my first call on the "brick" in Chicago, IL in 1974. It took 10 years for the FCC to license the first system.

  • Fun video man, I'm older than you and so far I knew all the answers (even the "brick"). The monopoly was Southwestern Bell and phones were a stylish black. Wouldn't bet a lot on that though.

  • LOL! I hear ya! My earliest one that I remember was tan. I wasn't aware of the black until a few people posted on the Facebook page. I agree on the Southwestern Bell. I had a few different answers on that too!
