The fact that your opponent is left in a crumble state after u pull of the dark angel is a little overkill in my opinion. Never the less, badass as fuck :D
Looks like a cross between Weiss and Kamui from Arcana Heart 3. Combine that with the fact that its a male, right-handed heir to a demon legacy and you've got Vergil. o_O
@SoulDarknessKing Doubt it, you forget. Several characters who have teleports for instance or those who are fast or who can hit hard are going to finish him off in several hits before he even finishes up gathering all the evidence he needs. He is only a defensive character with little to no offensive capabilities against the majority of the roster who are about offensive all the way. Phoenix Wright fans are going to be humiliated when their favorite character gets owned the characters horribly.
@SoulDarknessKing There kinda really isn't a point since Dante, even in Sparda form from the first game, plays no differently than what the real Sparda would have played like. Rebellion/Alastor and Sparda share the exact same movelist and Sparda himself even used a pair of guns
@SoulDarknessKing Arkham would seem lie an okay addition to me. As for Lady, it's too little too late for her since Rocket Raccoon is here. And Chris.
i can't believe people are complaining about his voice acting... thats the real voice actor from his origin game, and i think it sounds amazing (minus his "I'm motivated" quote, i would have preferred "Where's your motivation?")
@VINCIEHALO Thank you! Everyone seems to think that it isn't Dan Southworth doing Vergil's voice. Why the hell wouldnt they have him do his voice again? Idk, but I'm glad they brought him back. :)
I hate to jump into an argument, but what exactly about Dan Southworths (Vergils Voice actor) performance here is Sub-Par? He seems to play the part of Vergil quite well if I do say so myself.
What people here fail to understand is that, not only does Capcom have a very limited window of time to record the lines before having to leave for the next company, and that every recording session cost ALOT of money since you have to record Japanese & English and that several MvC VAs are famous actors.
@VINCIEHALO Time frame is not a big issue, they can always rent out a time frame for another session. PS: I dont see the problem, sales are extraordinarily good for this game, in fact all their fighting games are doing exceptionally well in sales. I dont see why they cannot spend some more money on it. I dont see this UMvC bombing, and if they arent spending some more effort, its probably because they dont want to fork over the extra pay, even though the money they are making far exceeds that.
@NOEXEoriginal True, but that costs MORE money. Andsay Johnny Yong Bosch or Dan Southworth (both well paid actors) need a re-recording session, that costs several thousand dollars. As does each voice actor and each session, and in some cases each character they voice. That isn't counting the money spent to rent out the recording studio EVERY DAY. So that equates top up to about 70-800,000 dollars just for the actors, not counting CapCom employees, MARVEL character rights, or game costs.
@NOEXEoriginal Understand this is a fighting game. When recording for games, the actors go in the booth for several hours just to make reactions and different attack sounds. DMC3 had cutscenes and such, so they were a little more focused on the acting, plus they got to do the mocap for DMC3 so it was a little more natural. This is a fighting game so they dont really have all that to think about, and they dont expect the players to think too much about it either.
@soldierkei Yeah, I got over it. Not going to buy this though. Theres other stuff I want. Including SF X Tekken. DMC3 will always be remembered through my gaming experience, im just not fond of having something play back that isnt as I remember it being. Its like a contract, that read in a tone that sounded suitable, but when brought back for any reason to reread, you find it quit un-enjoyable.
Missing out on a game just because the VA didn't recite his familiar lines exactly as he did is a....really retarded excuse. You didn't get over it at all if you're still acting like a baby over not having everything exactly like it is when the only problem is the way the character says some lines from a game he hasn't looked at in years
@kaihedgie Hey, you buy it if you want. I hold Capcom to much higher standards after the shit they have pulled over the years. Im not going to go easy on a company that doesnt give a shit about you. Voice Acting's off, doesnt feel quite like the old Vergil, so im not playing it, whats wrong with that. So your telling me I should be forced to pay for the the newer version of MvC3, and play as vergil, and like it? Its not an excuse, not buying the Ultimate version, period.
@NOEXEoriginal Doesn't putting Vergil in this game and giving him his lines from DMC3 qualify as carrying about fans? I don't know who you think you are, but I don't think a fan would quite be this bitchy over a very minor detail such as this.
On the contrary, fighting game pros like Miles and the PR, Seth Killian states that although it's somewhat the same game, each and every character has been refined and tweaked and glitches have been removed and new modes have been added. Not the same
@kaihedgie FYI, not missing out on anything, played the first, dont need the second. Its the same fighting style in the end, the same game in general.
@kaihedgie I dont know if your trying to be sarcastic, but that was pretty well said in a none sarcastic way, since that pretty much makes sense, and isnt outrageous in anyway.
No, they're not the same. Even raging tards boycotting this game recognize that each of the MVC games play drastically from one another. MVC2 introduced the tag team trio concept, but did away with the Assist characters. All of the characters were pretty much required to fight at once rather than just pick two characters and fight till one falls and the other jumps in.
@NOEXEoriginal MVC3 introduced the X-Factor and the Aerial Rave and Aerial Tag Combo features, not to mention changing the entire button layout to resemble TVC's for a more easy to handle gameplay experience. To be honest, having to monitor and press six buttons is kind of a hassle in a fast paced and frenetic fight. While a lot of pro/arcade fans welcome the six button layout, you're going to run into a problem when you're trying to introduce a new generation/crowd to fighting games.
@kaihedgie UMvC3 is not introducing anything that is game changing from the original MvC3. Minor tweaks? Dude, not everyone plays like those "Pros" to begin with. Its not an easy type of fighting game some one can just pick up, it will test your patience, especially online. I cannot speak for anyone about UMvC3, but the core fans who paid for the special edition of the first installment, had more than a right to be pissed. Ill wait for the next five installments to notice a difference.
@kaihedgie The new mode from TvC is just a change to the controls, no new moves have been modified based on that control scheme. Those new online modes are something the original lacked, but there is no difference to the games core elements of basic three on three fighting, new lobbies, and easier connectivity, does not change the game at all, it just makes the online more convenient. The first MvC3 was a premature version of the game, and even had characters taken out.
@NOEXEoriginal Characters were "taken out" from the roster of MVC3 due to numerous factors:
A large portion of the cast in MVC2 over-represented a few franchises amongst many
A good portion of the characters were shotoclones or palette swaps of one another
Marvel said no to some of the characters people requested because they had no interest in them or there was no reason to promote them if nothing major was coming up for them
@kaihedgie This is like me saying that SFIV is not the same as SSFIV and SSFIVAE. They are the same, all that was done are minor tweaks to the characters, better online modes, and new characters. Nothing had changed. The first game was outdated in no time, and the gameplay still stood on its core elements. MvC3 is the same with UMvC3. There is nothing new, all that was added was minor tweaks to the characters, better online modes, and new characters. The same damn thing as SFIV. Nothing changed.
@kaihedgie What the fans asked for at the launch of this title, MvC3, was to not have expansions. As the MvC games before it, they wanted it to be filled with good fighters, a good online mode, and good controls. That was it, they didnt want DLC, they wanted what they saw at E3 and TGS. That is why the fans became so angry, and Capcom did it on purpose, because of the success of SFIV and SSFIV, they decided to take content out before release, and then sell it, expecting to release a new version.
@kaihedgie Not only that, but Capcom has a funny way of screwing over people who fall for their bait and switch tactic. They announced the release of DLC, jill and the tentacle thing, and they promised to release more. Heres where that went, being that RE5 was so successful, people actually bought the DLC for jill, mostly. Capcom knew this, and they also knew that they were going to release a new game, but they still released that DLC to screw the fans over and make some extra money.
I should also note that you can't always get everything right on the first try, so expansions are inevitable, either as DLC or new games and said expansions are the result of fan demand. What makes you think Mortal Kombat (2011) won't get an expansion considering that one of the things that they boasted about was their online modes, which ended up being a flop due to terrible netcoding. They've done this at least seven times before.
@NOEXEoriginal Or would you rather Capcom follow Square Enix's business model of re-releasing major titles and then withholding said games from overseas?
@kaihedgie So guess what, that DLC they paid for, coughing up that extra money, is now completely useless. So what is truely the intention of Capcom? They are releasing games with popular characters, not only because the fans are asking for them, but because they know that adding these characters, a few now, and more later, not fully addressing the publics desire in characters, so they can make more money.
@NOEXEoriginal "So guess what, that DLC they paid for, coughing up that extra money, is now completely useless." WRONG
Any DLC you have bought from the original version (sans Shadow Battles) will carry over to this game. I surely hope you went into this argument having already done your study about this game rather than going in blindly like so many other whiners.
@kaihedgie "Any DLC you have bought from the original version (sans Shadow Battles) will carry over to this game" The game is not released yet, so until it is released, I cannot say much more than what I have.
@NOEXEoriginal It was already confirmed in previous interviews. You would probably have a bit more to say if you actually knew about the game rather than just venting your hate over something so minor as a voice actor's portrayal of a single character. Maybe then I'd take you a bit more seriously.
@kaihedgie The game is nearing release, so many new answers to questions are appearing. I have not checked on anything for the past few months. Nor do I care to invest more time into reading reviews over the game as it stands now before it releases, since we do have to wait for it to release before I cant say if the move completely sucks or not. The game does look good, and I would play it, but I would not pay for it.
@kaihedgie Vergil was one of my favorite characters from DMC before Capcom handed it off. Because that Vergil was not the best it could have been in VA, which is what I admire about him, cool, calm, deep voice, and a skilled swords master, thats what I liked about vergil. VA is important to me, maybe not to everyone else as much, but its important to me. Also, the VA for Vergils Devil Trigger mode is missing, he doesnt sound like the Devil vergil, which is also a miss. Thats like the icing.
@NOEXEoriginal Um, I'm not sure if you knew this, but the series creator, Hideyuki Kamiya, had only done the first game (he never does sequels). Other people have gone off to do the other games and Ninja Theory is only in command of the art direction with Capcom handling the gameplay and story.
@kaihedgie The problem here, and I never really liked Ninja Theory, is that Capcom could have made it themselves, but instead they handed off the development of the game to Ninja Theory. Which is a blow to their reputation as a company. No one who played DMC from the beginning, in its respective time of creation, wanted the series to take such a drastic change. But it is an injustice to Ninja Theory, which makes Capcom more of what I hate seeing.
@NOEXEoriginal Devil May Cry started out as an action-oriented version of Resident Evil before it became its own thing and people would rather see a spin on things rather than see the same old thing over and over again. Yes, I dislike Dante's appearance in the game but I got over it since it still feels like a DMC game after having seen recent gameplay footage.
But answer this question: Did you hate it when DMC3 was re-released for a Special Edition that enabled Vergil as a playable character?
@kaihedgie I didnt like the bloody palace, because it lagged more than I could actually play it. Vergils move set wasnt to my style, I preferred Dante's Combinations, rather than Vergil's simplified structure of gameplay. Also, nothing changed from the story, that disappointed me the most. I loved Vergil as a boss character, and disliked playing him as in the special edition. vergil should not have been a playable character, since the story is about Dante, and Vergil shouldnt play Dantes role.
@NOEXEoriginal Even though Vergil is just as important to the plot as Dante is and people have been begging for him to be playable, and by proxy, Nelo Angelo.
It sounds like you've been playing the PC version. I never had any problems with the Bloody Palace. And Vergil's style isn't really that simple, or I'm guessing you never saw that famous combo vid.
@kaihedgie yes, I saw that combo video, its amazing. Do you know many people that can do that? I didnt think so. When you play as vergil, his move set is simplified. You have, what three basic weapons to use, and that was it. The combinations you could do where limited in comparison to Dantes. I played it on the PS2, it was new.
@NOEXEoriginal Not really basic since you're juggling with three weapons at once, using them while firing swords at the same time and trying to manage space with teleports.
If it's really as "simple" as you think, can you recreate what was done in that vid?
@kaihedgie No, what was done in the video takes alot of practice. Can you do what was shown, I dont think so. Im a good player for DMC games, do you think im a bandwagon player whos never touched a DMC game in my life? Ive played all of the DMC games, and I still hate 2.
@kaihedgie Juggling three weapons isnt impossible, the switching isnt that hard at all, its really easy to get a hold of such a combat system. Just like Dante in DMC4, which was more limited in combinations than I expected as well. Also, there is no damn Tutorial on doing those specific combinations as seen in the video, the player spends most of the time experimenting with what he finds he can perform. Dont bad mouth the skill of others, everyone had there own way of playing DMC3, its a fact.
@NOEXEoriginal And yet you're bagging on your favorite character's playstyle? Plus I wasn't insulting anyone. The way you worded it seemed like anyone could replicate what was done in the video
@kaihedgie No, the way im sounding is this: DMC3 was filled with Combinations that could be performed in hundreds of ways. I had my weapon of choice and stood to it, I learned combinations pertaining to the weapons I liked. I can move my fingers when I want to move them, its articulation of the finger, and the coordination a person has with them. Im a good player, i love playing challenging games. Have you ever played Shinobi for the PS2? That games difficulty is legendary, and I beat it.
@kaihedgie Yes, it was wrong for Capcom to do that. My hatred for Capcom, comes from the fact they dont make complete products any more. Its DLC, and money this, and patch that. Yatta Yatta Yatta. I rather wait a few years than a few months if it means that Capcom will make a complete game, that requires no extra expense. But that will never happen. This is why, I do favor other companies that make games enjoyable, and complete, rather than always having to worry about fan imput.
@NOEXEoriginal If so, then your whole hate towards Capcom with these re-releases kind of fall flat and become a bit hypocritical since the playable appearance of your favorite character was because of said business practice
@kaihedgie Also, that part about vergils devil trigger mode VA not appearing so far is something not everyone is catching on too. Its not such a minor part. Its just as much an improvement to the character as the tweaking they are doing over the characters in the next installment.
@kaihedgie About what fans ask for: Megaman was the number one asked for character on that list, in japan and america. On capcom unity, and on other gaming sites. But what did Capcom do, they didnt care about listening to what the fans really wanted. Instead, they put in other characters before him and stated they didnt have any record of seeing that anywhere. Yeah, way to go Capcom. Capcom is baiting this game, so they can release more characters for the public in DLC or a even newer version.
@NOEXEoriginal What Mega Man needs is a break from having annual sequels and spin off releases. Funny how you guys criticize Capcom for milking the hell out of something but when they cancel a milking product, you get upset and wave your battle flags.
@kaihedgie So, you may get some characters you want now, but I assure you, you will also see some others later, so long as you bring your wallet. Nothing is new, just more characters, an improved online mode, and some glitches and characters being patched, and a control scheme that is optional. Yeah, not that much at all.
@kaihedgie My point is, im tired of the Cashcow image Capcom is putting out. I dislike the fact that Capcom developers are leaving Capcom. Im tired of Capcom handing off franchises to 3rd party developers like square enix. Im tired of newer versions of games being released months or even a year after the first version. I havent bought anything from Capcom recently, and I do not intend to. I havent heard anything new over UMvC3 other than what is being said about what I have stated.
@NOEXEoriginal I don't recall Capcom handing off anything to Square Enix and only Inafune left the company even though others are free to continue where he left off (in fact, many of the Robot Masters and robots from the Classic series were designed by guest artists and fans). Are you even sure you know what you're talking about at this point? Do you even know that Capcom is working on whole new games that aren't sequels or spinoffs of preexisting franchises?
@VINCIEHALO No, that would be lidicriously high priced. The mistake isnt for every voice actor. And they rent out one room in the entire recording studio. That is only a few thousand dollars at best. They have equipment to do this type of stuff, they could have just done it any place that met the standards, and the people who are "famous" dont charge an outrageous price, If Capcom would allow that they would have highered some one even more "famous". They asked them to do it at a certain price.
@VINCIEHALO Also, the rights were bought way before the actual sessions were even planned. That comes with doing the game itself, not the voice acting. The rights are to use the characters and allow alterations in the ways that suit their needs, in other words, the rights are rights. Vergil isnt a Marvel character, and Capcom own the rights anyway. Capcom employees? it only takes maybe five guys at most to operate the recording, and thats including one for food, and one for drinks.
@kaseiyosenchi Vergil doesn`t have guns and only a Few Projectiles(Like three and mostly sword attacks). He is nothing Like dante if you played as him before besides Helm breaker and stinger.
@Tyrik73 the guns aren't the reason why Dante is broken..... that's just a nonsense thing to say. this video clearly shows that Vergil can do almost the exact same set ups for near infinite combos as Dante.
what's the point of having soo many characters that can kill a whole team just from getting a hit to start a combo. add that to the fact they lowered everyones life anyway and yes.. he is Dante V2 and now Dante users will have 2 of them on their team + Wesker or Akuma. Capcom #FAILS
Vergil doesn't nearly have as many as attacks as Dante does and he only shares about four moves with him.
Dante's game play is about chaining together a truckload of attacks for a lot of combo set ups. He can only do half of those other moves by chaining others first
Vergil on the other hand is less about comboing and more about range and power. He's slower attack-wise than Dante, but his normals have absurd range and he has better teleports
@kaseiyosenchi Instead of whining about how two characters are exactly the same, try and do your research first: play or watch some DMC3 combo videos of both Dante and Vergil. You might just learn something
@kaihedgie ok maybe I exaggerated by saying they're "the same" but the fact is he is similar enough to Dante that it's a bit of a cop out in my opinion. and yes he can do enough of the same set ups, and with his extra power and the universal life drop its really stupid. not that other characters aren't just as annoying btw, I just have a special hate for the DMC cast
@kaseiyosenchi I can see from the combos and the walkthroughs that he's a completely different character. That and the fact that I've actually played the game he came from that further validates my saying just how different the two characters
Of course you won't buy this "rip off" game, because it's actually not filling the game with Street Fighters, X-Men and other irrelevant characters but filling the game with a rather diverse and robust cast. You're just here for the attention, if anything
@kaihedgie erm.. don't make assumptions about me lease cos you don't know me. If you can't just draw conclusions from what was actually said rather than what *you* decide was said then you need to go talk to someone about that... it's pretty fucked up habit to have.
the game's a rip off because all of this should have been in the original rather than making everyone pay twice for everything.
not to mention this is like the 3rd or 4th time capcom has done it in a very short time period. done
@kaihedgie Critsising a game= whining? So if we don't give the game you LOOOOOVE we're whiners? Care to elaborate? Or are you still butthurt that we don't love this game the way you do because the original was unbalanced?
Then again, every gamer in this gen is "spoiled" to you, so I suppose anything we say to you would have brought your salty tears a flowin'
@kaihedgie No, i plan to buy the game. I just seem to get the impression that you think it's perfect, and any complaint towards it you dismiss as whining.
Also; this game will be even more unbalanced then MVC3, which is terrible, as that was already broken.
@Dragonage2ftw That's usually because most of the complaints are either invalidated due to it still being a WIP or just sheer willful ignorance. Last I checked, MVC3 was praised by pro fighters for actually being balanced in comparison to, say, MVC2. And here you are the one making assumptions about a lack of balance, as you don't even seem to be aware that even with the new characters being added, all of the vanilla characters are being tweaked to catch up with them.
@kaihedgie Doesn't matter, because all of the Nerfs and buffs are making OP characters broken, and weak characters useless, as Hsien-Ko, Spider-Man, Haggar and Tron are not getting any of their problems that made them crappy fixed, and Wesker, Sentinel, Taskmaster, and Amaratsu are getting even more powerful, which is just awful. Phoenix's broken DP hasn't been fixed, and she is getting nerfed to the point where DP is the only way she's useful. Wolverine is know useless.
@Dragonage2ftw Have you even looked at any combo videos or tournaments regarding all of these characters instead of just looking at vignettes and just stopping there?
Or did you ever stop to think that maybe it has less to do with them and more about you not knowing how to use these characters to these fullest?
@kaihedgie Spider-Man's moves leave him wide open, even more-so than the rest of the cast, and his web shot is slow, making it only useful as an assist. Tron does very little damage, has terrible HC's that are weak in damage and in attack range. Same with Haggar, except his double lariat hurts him, making him arguably worse. Hsien-ko's launcher misses half the time, and her moves have very little mix up, and her hypers are terrible, as is her "power up" move.

Virgils voice acting is so bad..... I mean really, couldnt they have done what they did in DMC 3? seriously? I am not buying this, forgive me virgil....
@gbtygfvyg Dude, stfu. you arguing with me is pointless. I dont like his voice acting, thats the reason why i liked vergil, and if capcom doesnt fucking care to work a few extra seconds to improve the voice acting, then they really are a piece of shit company. This whole game, like street fighter, is a cash cow. Im tired of getting crap at over priced values. So, its a fucking stupid excuse? your the one who needs revising on that.
@NOEXEoriginal Except that it takes much more than "a few seconds" to change ALL the lines that a character has.You seem to think that Capcom can just go into their sound files and somehow change the way a character says something when they first of all NEED the voice actor to redo the lines which costs MORE money and MORE time.
@gbtygfvyg When the initially record the voice acting. Im not talking about after. all it takes is a few more seconds for them to retry a line. DUH. but Capcom couldnt even do that right. It doesnt cost more, its just an example of a poorly done job. They should spend more money to fix their mistake because of the fact they were so lazy not to spend a few more seconds to do it in the first place.
@NOEXEoriginal How do you know if he's missing it since you apparently haven't been keeping up with this game and only four seconds of DT are shown in this vid
@kaihedgie He talks in Devil Trigger mode. Listen to it. They may fix it, who knows, like I said, it really is too early to say too much, other than what is presented here.
@kaihedgie Oh, sorry. This isnt the Video, there is another Video where he talks in his Devil Trigger voice. I watched in on the MvC3 website, I didnt watch it on youtube. Should have noticed earlier.
They should add Nero as well

Still...Will Phoenix have the.. *looks around* proofs to down Vergil? :O
SoulDarknessKing 4 months ago
@SoulDarknessKing Doubt it, you forget. Several characters who have teleports for instance or those who are fast or who can hit hard are going to finish him off in several hits before he even finishes up gathering all the evidence he needs. He is only a defensive character with little to no offensive capabilities against the majority of the roster who are about offensive all the way. Phoenix Wright fans are going to be humiliated when their favorite character gets owned the characters horribly.
foxmccloud07 4 months ago
@foxmccloud07
Indeed. Neverthanless, i am happy for having Vergil on here. Now all i need is Sparda and then i can die happy.
SoulDarknessKing 4 months ago
@SoulDarknessKing Sparda is a DLC costume for Dante
Also, Phoenix Wright has some amazing potential as demonstrated by Kilian. Foxmccloud07 is just upset because Mega Manz not here and Wright is.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie
I meant Sparda with his own movesets. After all , all of us would want to play with the DMC3 most notorious family, right?
SoulDarknessKing 4 months ago
@SoulDarknessKing There kinda really isn't a point since Dante, even in Sparda form from the first game, plays no differently than what the real Sparda would have played like. Rebellion/Alastor and Sparda share the exact same movelist and Sparda himself even used a pair of guns
He just would have been a clone
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie
now that you mention it.. i was forgetting that stuff. Thank you :)
Then, seems that Sparda would not make it, what about them Arkham or Lady?
SoulDarknessKing 4 months ago
@SoulDarknessKing Arkham would seem lie an okay addition to me. As for Lady, it's too little too late for her since Rocket Raccoon is here. And Chris.

BanditJing412 4 months ago
I hate to jump into an argument, but what exactly about Dan Southworths (Vergils Voice actor) performance here is Sub-Par? He seems to play the part of Vergil quite well if I do say so myself.
What people here fail to understand is that, not only does Capcom have a very limited window of time to record the lines before having to leave for the next company, and that every recording session cost ALOT of money since you have to record Japanese & English and that several MvC VAs are famous actors.
VINCIEHALO 5 months ago
@VINCIEHALO Time frame is not a big issue, they can always rent out a time frame for another session. PS: I dont see the problem, sales are extraordinarily good for this game, in fact all their fighting games are doing exceptionally well in sales. I dont see why they cannot spend some more money on it. I dont see this UMvC bombing, and if they arent spending some more effort, its probably because they dont want to fork over the extra pay, even though the money they are making far exceeds that.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal True, but that costs MORE money. Andsay Johnny Yong Bosch or Dan Southworth (both well paid actors) need a re-recording session, that costs several thousand dollars. As does each voice actor and each session, and in some cases each character they voice. That isn't counting the money spent to rent out the recording studio EVERY DAY. So that equates top up to about 70-800,000 dollars just for the actors, not counting CapCom employees, MARVEL character rights, or game costs.

NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Understand this is a fighting game. When recording for games, the actors go in the booth for several hours just to make reactions and different attack sounds. DMC3 had cutscenes and such, so they were a little more focused on the acting, plus they got to do the mocap for DMC3 so it was a little more natural. This is a fighting game so they dont really have all that to think about, and they dont expect the players to think too much about it either.
soldierkei 4 months ago
@soldierkei Yeah, I got over it. Not going to buy this though. Theres other stuff I want. Including SF X Tekken. DMC3 will always be remembered through my gaming experience, im just not fond of having something play back that isnt as I remember it being. Its like a contract, that read in a tone that sounded suitable, but when brought back for any reason to reread, you find it quit un-enjoyable.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Let's see:
Spiral Swords - Check
Judgment Cut - Check
Devil Trigger - Check
Voice actor - Check
Gameplay style - Check
Missing out on a game just because the VA didn't recite his familiar lines exactly as he did is a....really retarded excuse. You didn't get over it at all if you're still acting like a baby over not having everything exactly like it is when the only problem is the way the character says some lines from a game he hasn't looked at in years
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie Hey, you buy it if you want. I hold Capcom to much higher standards after the shit they have pulled over the years. Im not going to go easy on a company that doesnt give a shit about you. Voice Acting's off, doesnt feel quite like the old Vergil, so im not playing it, whats wrong with that. So your telling me I should be forced to pay for the the newer version of MvC3, and play as vergil, and like it? Its not an excuse, not buying the Ultimate version, period.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Doesn't putting Vergil in this game and giving him his lines from DMC3 qualify as carrying about fans? I don't know who you think you are, but I don't think a fan would quite be this bitchy over a very minor detail such as this.
On the contrary, fighting game pros like Miles and the PR, Seth Killian states that although it's somewhat the same game, each and every character has been refined and tweaked and glitches have been removed and new modes have been added. Not the same
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie FYI, not missing out on anything, played the first, dont need the second. Its the same fighting style in the end, the same game in general.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal So basically, to sum you up:

@NOEXEoriginal Regarding your reply to the other games:
No, they're not the same. Even raging tards boycotting this game recognize that each of the MVC games play drastically from one another. MVC2 introduced the tag team trio concept, but did away with the Assist characters. All of the characters were pretty much required to fight at once rather than just pick two characters and fight till one falls and the other jumps in.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal MVC3 introduced the X-Factor and the Aerial Rave and Aerial Tag Combo features, not to mention changing the entire button layout to resemble TVC's for a more easy to handle gameplay experience. To be honest, having to monitor and press six buttons is kind of a hassle in a fast paced and frenetic fight. While a lot of pro/arcade fans welcome the six button layout, you're going to run into a problem when you're trying to introduce a new generation/crowd to fighting games.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie UMvC3 is not introducing anything that is game changing from the original MvC3. Minor tweaks? Dude, not everyone plays like those "Pros" to begin with. Its not an easy type of fighting game some one can just pick up, it will test your patience, especially online. I cannot speak for anyone about UMvC3, but the core fans who paid for the special edition of the first installment, had more than a right to be pissed. Ill wait for the next five installments to notice a difference.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie The new mode from TvC is just a change to the controls, no new moves have been modified based on that control scheme. Those new online modes are something the original lacked, but there is no difference to the games core elements of basic three on three fighting, new lobbies, and easier connectivity, does not change the game at all, it just makes the online more convenient. The first MvC3 was a premature version of the game, and even had characters taken out.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Characters were "taken out" from the roster of MVC3 due to numerous factors:
A large portion of the cast in MVC2 over-represented a few franchises amongst many
A good portion of the characters were shotoclones or palette swaps of one another
Marvel said no to some of the characters people requested because they had no interest in them or there was no reason to promote them if nothing major was coming up for them
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie This is like me saying that SFIV is not the same as SSFIV and SSFIVAE. They are the same, all that was done are minor tweaks to the characters, better online modes, and new characters. Nothing had changed. The first game was outdated in no time, and the gameplay still stood on its core elements. MvC3 is the same with UMvC3. There is nothing new, all that was added was minor tweaks to the characters, better online modes, and new characters. The same damn thing as SFIV. Nothing changed.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie What the fans asked for at the launch of this title, MvC3, was to not have expansions. As the MvC games before it, they wanted it to be filled with good fighters, a good online mode, and good controls. That was it, they didnt want DLC, they wanted what they saw at E3 and TGS. That is why the fans became so angry, and Capcom did it on purpose, because of the success of SFIV and SSFIV, they decided to take content out before release, and then sell it, expecting to release a new version.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie Not only that, but Capcom has a funny way of screwing over people who fall for their bait and switch tactic. They announced the release of DLC, jill and the tentacle thing, and they promised to release more. Heres where that went, being that RE5 was so successful, people actually bought the DLC for jill, mostly. Capcom knew this, and they also knew that they were going to release a new game, but they still released that DLC to screw the fans over and make some extra money.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal You do realize that the people who bought the original are going to get a bonus when they boot up this game, right?
kaihedgie 4 months ago
I should also note that you can't always get everything right on the first try, so expansions are inevitable, either as DLC or new games and said expansions are the result of fan demand. What makes you think Mortal Kombat (2011) won't get an expansion considering that one of the things that they boasted about was their online modes, which ended up being a flop due to terrible netcoding. They've done this at least seven times before.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Or would you rather Capcom follow Square Enix's business model of re-releasing major titles and then withholding said games from overseas?
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie So guess what, that DLC they paid for, coughing up that extra money, is now completely useless. So what is truely the intention of Capcom? They are releasing games with popular characters, not only because the fans are asking for them, but because they know that adding these characters, a few now, and more later, not fully addressing the publics desire in characters, so they can make more money.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal "So guess what, that DLC they paid for, coughing up that extra money, is now completely useless." WRONG
Any DLC you have bought from the original version (sans Shadow Battles) will carry over to this game. I surely hope you went into this argument having already done your study about this game rather than going in blindly like so many other whiners.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie "Any DLC you have bought from the original version (sans Shadow Battles) will carry over to this game" The game is not released yet, so until it is released, I cannot say much more than what I have.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal It was already confirmed in previous interviews. You would probably have a bit more to say if you actually knew about the game rather than just venting your hate over something so minor as a voice actor's portrayal of a single character. Maybe then I'd take you a bit more seriously.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie The game is nearing release, so many new answers to questions are appearing. I have not checked on anything for the past few months. Nor do I care to invest more time into reading reviews over the game as it stands now before it releases, since we do have to wait for it to release before I cant say if the move completely sucks or not. The game does look good, and I would play it, but I would not pay for it.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie Vergil was one of my favorite characters from DMC before Capcom handed it off. Because that Vergil was not the best it could have been in VA, which is what I admire about him, cool, calm, deep voice, and a skilled swords master, thats what I liked about vergil. VA is important to me, maybe not to everyone else as much, but its important to me. Also, the VA for Vergils Devil Trigger mode is missing, he doesnt sound like the Devil vergil, which is also a miss. Thats like the icing.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Um, I'm not sure if you knew this, but the series creator, Hideyuki Kamiya, had only done the first game (he never does sequels). Other people have gone off to do the other games and Ninja Theory is only in command of the art direction with Capcom handling the gameplay and story.
kaihedgie 4 months ago

NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie The problem here, and I never really liked Ninja Theory, is that Capcom could have made it themselves, but instead they handed off the development of the game to Ninja Theory. Which is a blow to their reputation as a company. No one who played DMC from the beginning, in its respective time of creation, wanted the series to take such a drastic change. But it is an injustice to Ninja Theory, which makes Capcom more of what I hate seeing.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Devil May Cry started out as an action-oriented version of Resident Evil before it became its own thing and people would rather see a spin on things rather than see the same old thing over and over again. Yes, I dislike Dante's appearance in the game but I got over it since it still feels like a DMC game after having seen recent gameplay footage.
But answer this question: Did you hate it when DMC3 was re-released for a Special Edition that enabled Vergil as a playable character?
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie I didnt like the bloody palace, because it lagged more than I could actually play it. Vergils move set wasnt to my style, I preferred Dante's Combinations, rather than Vergil's simplified structure of gameplay. Also, nothing changed from the story, that disappointed me the most. I loved Vergil as a boss character, and disliked playing him as in the special edition. vergil should not have been a playable character, since the story is about Dante, and Vergil shouldnt play Dantes role.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Even though Vergil is just as important to the plot as Dante is and people have been begging for him to be playable, and by proxy, Nelo Angelo.
It sounds like you've been playing the PC version. I never had any problems with the Bloody Palace. And Vergil's style isn't really that simple, or I'm guessing you never saw that famous combo vid.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie yes, I saw that combo video, its amazing. Do you know many people that can do that? I didnt think so. When you play as vergil, his move set is simplified. You have, what three basic weapons to use, and that was it. The combinations you could do where limited in comparison to Dantes. I played it on the PS2, it was new.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Not really basic since you're juggling with three weapons at once, using them while firing swords at the same time and trying to manage space with teleports.
If it's really as "simple" as you think, can you recreate what was done in that vid?
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie No, what was done in the video takes alot of practice. Can you do what was shown, I dont think so. Im a good player for DMC games, do you think im a bandwagon player whos never touched a DMC game in my life? Ive played all of the DMC games, and I still hate 2.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie Juggling three weapons isnt impossible, the switching isnt that hard at all, its really easy to get a hold of such a combat system. Just like Dante in DMC4, which was more limited in combinations than I expected as well. Also, there is no damn Tutorial on doing those specific combinations as seen in the video, the player spends most of the time experimenting with what he finds he can perform. Dont bad mouth the skill of others, everyone had there own way of playing DMC3, its a fact.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal And yet you're bagging on your favorite character's playstyle? Plus I wasn't insulting anyone. The way you worded it seemed like anyone could replicate what was done in the video
kaihedgie 4 months ago

NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal If so, then your whole hate towards Capcom with these re-releases kind of fall flat and become a bit hypocritical since the playable appearance of your favorite character was because of said business practice

@kaihedgie Let me answer your question
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie Also, that part about vergils devil trigger mode VA not appearing so far is something not everyone is catching on too. Its not such a minor part. Its just as much an improvement to the character as the tweaking they are doing over the characters in the next installment.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie About what fans ask for: Megaman was the number one asked for character on that list, in japan and america. On capcom unity, and on other gaming sites. But what did Capcom do, they didnt care about listening to what the fans really wanted. Instead, they put in other characters before him and stated they didnt have any record of seeing that anywhere. Yeah, way to go Capcom. Capcom is baiting this game, so they can release more characters for the public in DLC or a even newer version.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal What Mega Man needs is a break from having annual sequels and spin off releases. Funny how you guys criticize Capcom for milking the hell out of something but when they cancel a milking product, you get upset and wave your battle flags.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie So, you may get some characters you want now, but I assure you, you will also see some others later, so long as you bring your wallet. Nothing is new, just more characters, an improved online mode, and some glitches and characters being patched, and a control scheme that is optional. Yeah, not that much at all.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal First: I got who I wanted except Mercury and I quite welcome the unexpected choices, makes people more aware
Second: ALL of the characters from the original game are being tweaked. Not just damage and property changes, but new attacks and Hypers as well.
I'm here to play, not to whine. What I do with my money is my own business. Same with you.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie My point is, im tired of the Cashcow image Capcom is putting out. I dislike the fact that Capcom developers are leaving Capcom. Im tired of Capcom handing off franchises to 3rd party developers like square enix. Im tired of newer versions of games being released months or even a year after the first version. I havent bought anything from Capcom recently, and I do not intend to. I havent heard anything new over UMvC3 other than what is being said about what I have stated.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal I don't recall Capcom handing off anything to Square Enix and only Inafune left the company even though others are free to continue where he left off (in fact, many of the Robot Masters and robots from the Classic series were designed by guest artists and fans). Are you even sure you know what you're talking about at this point? Do you even know that Capcom is working on whole new games that aren't sequels or spinoffs of preexisting franchises?
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie I didnt say Capcom handed anything off to Square Enix. I said Like square Enix. Read damnit.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@VINCIEHALO No, that would be lidicriously high priced. The mistake isnt for every voice actor. And they rent out one room in the entire recording studio. That is only a few thousand dollars at best. They have equipment to do this type of stuff, they could have just done it any place that met the standards, and the people who are "famous" dont charge an outrageous price, If Capcom would allow that they would have highered some one even more "famous". They asked them to do it at a certain price.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago

NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago

Tyrik73 4 months ago
@Tyrik73 the guns aren't the reason why Dante is broken..... that's just a nonsense thing to say. this video clearly shows that Vergil can do almost the exact same set ups for near infinite combos as Dante.
what's the point of having soo many characters that can kill a whole team just from getting a hit to start a combo. add that to the fact they lowered everyones life anyway and yes.. he is Dante V2 and now Dante users will have 2 of them on their team + Wesker or Akuma. Capcom #FAILS
kaseiyosenchi 4 months ago
@kaseiyosenchi You couldn't be anymore wrong :P
He's slower attack-wise than Dante, but his normals have absurd range and he has better teleports
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaseiyosenchi Instead of whining about how two characters are exactly the same, try and do your research first: play or watch some DMC3 combo videos of both Dante and Vergil. You might just learn something
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie ok maybe I exaggerated by saying they're "the same" but the fact is he is similar enough to Dante that it's a bit of a cop out in my opinion. and yes he can do enough of the same set ups, and with his extra power and the universal life drop its really stupid. not that other characters aren't just as annoying btw, I just have a special hate for the DMC cast
kaseiyosenchi 4 months ago
@kaseiyosenchi The only thing they're similar in is in physical appearance, but beyond that, they're two completely different entities.
How do you figure he can do the same set ups if you've never even played as him or even seen any walkthroughs regarding him?
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie ok AALOW you and your nonsense. if you can;t see if from the combos done in THIS video then I don't know how to explain it to you.

kaseiyosenchi 4 months ago
@kaseiyosenchi I can see from the combos and the walkthroughs that he's a completely different character. That and the fact that I've actually played the game he came from that further validates my saying just how different the two characters
Of course you won't buy this "rip off" game, because it's actually not filling the game with Street Fighters, X-Men and other irrelevant characters but filling the game with a rather diverse and robust cast. You're just here for the attention, if anything
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie erm.. don't make assumptions about me lease cos you don't know me. If you can't just draw conclusions from what was actually said rather than what *you* decide was said then you need to go talk to someone about that... it's pretty fucked up habit to have.
the game's a rip off because all of this should have been in the original rather than making everyone pay twice for everything.
not to mention this is like the 3rd or 4th time capcom has done it in a very short time period. done
kaseiyosenchi 4 months ago
@kaseiyosenchi But whatever the case, Vergil and Dante's styles don't seem to be similar in the slightest

Dragonage2ftw 4 months ago
@Dragonage2ftw There's a differencing between "criticizing" and "whining" about a game.
You seem to have me confused with yourself: you're the one who's whining about spoils and crying salty tears :p
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie No, i plan to buy the game. I just seem to get the impression that you think it's perfect, and any complaint towards it you dismiss as whining.
Also; this game will be even more unbalanced then MVC3, which is terrible, as that was already broken.
Dragonage2ftw 4 months ago
@Dragonage2ftw That's usually because most of the complaints are either invalidated due to it still being a WIP or just sheer willful ignorance. Last I checked, MVC3 was praised by pro fighters for actually being balanced in comparison to, say, MVC2. And here you are the one making assumptions about a lack of balance, as you don't even seem to be aware that even with the new characters being added, all of the vanilla characters are being tweaked to catch up with them.
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie Doesn't matter, because all of the Nerfs and buffs are making OP characters broken, and weak characters useless, as Hsien-Ko, Spider-Man, Haggar and Tron are not getting any of their problems that made them crappy fixed, and Wesker, Sentinel, Taskmaster, and Amaratsu are getting even more powerful, which is just awful. Phoenix's broken DP hasn't been fixed, and she is getting nerfed to the point where DP is the only way she's useful. Wolverine is know useless.
Dragonage2ftw 4 months ago
@Dragonage2ftw Have you even looked at any combo videos or tournaments regarding all of these characters instead of just looking at vignettes and just stopping there?
Or did you ever stop to think that maybe it has less to do with them and more about you not knowing how to use these characters to these fullest?
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie Yes, I have watched tournements, and yes, I have spent time to learn many of the characters. Their still weak/OP. Explain how they aren't
Dragonage2ftw 4 months ago
@Dragonage2ftw Somehow, I doubt you have
Explain to me how they're weak
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie Spider-Man's moves leave him wide open, even more-so than the rest of the cast, and his web shot is slow, making it only useful as an assist. Tron does very little damage, has terrible HC's that are weak in damage and in attack range. Same with Haggar, except his double lariat hurts him, making him arguably worse. Hsien-ko's launcher misses half the time, and her moves have very little mix up, and her hypers are terrible, as is her "power up" move.

@NOEXEoriginal You do realize that it's the same voice actor from DMC3? So I dont see why you shouldn't buy this game. :/

Virgils voice acting is so bad..... I mean really, couldnt they have done what they did in DMC 3? seriously? I am not buying this, forgive me virgil....

@NOEXEoriginal "1 character's voice acting is sub par, I'm not buying the game because of this"
That's a really fucking stupid excuse.

NOEXEoriginal 5 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal Except that it takes much more than "a few seconds" to change ALL the lines that a character has.You seem to think that Capcom can just go into their sound files and somehow change the way a character says something when they first of all NEED the voice actor to redo the lines which costs MORE money and MORE time.
gbtygfvyg 5 months ago
@gbtygfvyg When the initially record the voice acting. Im not talking about after. all it takes is a few more seconds for them to retry a line. DUH. but Capcom couldnt even do that right. It doesnt cost more, its just an example of a poorly done job. They should spend more money to fix their mistake because of the fact they were so lazy not to spend a few more seconds to do it in the first place.

@gbtygfvyg Before you go any further and get Thumbs up or what ever, VERGIL IS MISSING HIS DEVIL TRIGGER VOICE.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@NOEXEoriginal How do you know if he's missing it since you apparently haven't been keeping up with this game and only four seconds of DT are shown in this vid
kaihedgie 4 months ago
@kaihedgie He talks in Devil Trigger mode. Listen to it. They may fix it, who knows, like I said, it really is too early to say too much, other than what is presented here.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie I havent been keeping up with forums and site news, I just watch what is presented. Thats keeping up with video footage, not blogs.
NOEXEoriginal 4 months ago
@kaihedgie Oh, sorry. This isnt the Video, there is another Video where he talks in his Devil Trigger voice. I watched in on the MvC3 website, I didnt watch it on youtube. Should have noticed earlier.
