  • Great photos! What type of slide you used?

  • Thanks again for your response. You should write a book on all the countries you had stayed there (with photos).

  • Hi Mr. Rogge, It's me again. Did Hong Kong honour you any award for all your master pieces ? If not, shame on them.

  • In the early fifties I won prizes in HK for my films Rain, Sunrise, and Turn of the Tide. Lately there has been some interest from the media.

  • Mr Rogge

Thank you for all the films and photo on youtube. You wake me up for some collective memories. I was born in HK in 1954 and moved to Canada with my parents in 1970. HK is such a fascinating city. I hope you can publish all these wonderful photos record and films for the younger generation.

  • 1954...my granny was just 17!

I read your interview on SCMP=) Seriously, you should really write a book on all those places you've visited. I'll definitely buy one=)

By the way, it was Mid-autumn Festival last night, and tonight we are going to 追月 ("chase the moon") as it's the 16th in the lunar calendar. Look at the moon tonight if you have time=)

  • never see old photos such clear and colorful! thanks Michael!

  • Your picture which starts at 0:33 is mirrored, check the chinese characters.

  • Sorry, I don't know chinese characters. I hope viewers will forgive me but it is too much work to do it all over again.

  • Don't worry about that, it is fine to see all those great pictures, and appreciate your effort posting all these lovely old Hong Kong videos and pictures. Thanks again for your hard work!!! In my opinion, Hong Kong people owe you a big favor!!!

  • At 0:13 is a view of the old buildings east of the Central Fire Station. The buildings were eventually replaced by the Hang Seng Bank Building. A thousand 'thank you' for this posting.

  • And a million 'thank you's' for posting details of my photo's.

  • Thanks!

  • thanks a lot!
