Sure, but they The Destroyers were added for the game. The movie came out in 1979 and there was no mentioning of some gang called The Destroyers from Long Island. Even in the game The Warriors defeat all the Destroyers and waste Virgil, and this before the gathering takes place, which is the beginning of the movie.

I saw the movie as a little kid, years before I played the game.

The game is still the best game based on a movie in my opinion.
