This is YouTube, there are no rules or guidelines here for commenting. I'm trained in music, but I really wasn't in the mood for writing a critique or a praise of the song. I just went with what I felt and wrote down something with little concern to what others would like me to write.
I don't think it has to do with PJ at all. My guess is that the guy just hates religion. There are comments like this on Beck and Nick Cave youtube videos too. (Those two with PJ are my favorites).
I read somewhere that this is about JD Salinger's story "A perfect Day for Bananafish" It's in his book nine stories and there are some similarities, also he has another story called "pretty mouth and green eyes"- and she uses that line in "angelene"
pj is a voracious reader, of multiple genres, and a significant intellectual. Almost all of her songs have literary genus. (check out her song "the garden" and let me know who you think she is singing about) My world is definitely a better and smaller place due to her music, compassion and worldliness.

PJ Harvey is one of those artists who are sadly underrated and obscure. She's a genius. A true pioneer and a brillant guitarist. So few people even know who she is nowadays. It's sad. I've been a fan since 95' & she's never given me a reason to stray.

PJ aint underated, she just isn't pop. I don't think she cares as she has made more than enough to make what she likes. I saw who with crowds of about 10000 1 time. This song is a favourite of mine and she is smokenly sexy in intrigueing. Great sounds. :-)

PJ Harvey is one of those artists who are sadly underrated and obscure. She's a genius. A true pioneer and a brillant guitarist. So few people even know who she is nowadays. It's sad. I've been a fan since 95' & she's never given me a reason to stray.

While I partly agree with you (PJ is definetly the most inspired female musician out there, and also my favorite musician of all time), I still advise you to take a look at some other female musicians of her caliber: Bjork, Patti Smith, Lucinda Williams, Erykah Badu, Neko Case, Sleater-Kinney, Siouxsie Sioux, etc. I don't disagree with you entirely, I just think you're over-generalizing a bit

Oh, I adore those gals, too! Bjork is one of my fave vocalists ever, and what she does with music is art. I also love Beth Orton, Regina Spektor, Imani Coppola, Ani DiFranco, Portishead, Mystic, Patrice Pike of Sister 7, and Kay Hanley of Letters to Cleo. Well, I dabble in everything, but those are my picks. ;) I love most underground music in general.

OK since you've started reading this its too late to stop. in 2001 a 15 year old girl was killed in a clearing in scotland. nobody knows who or what killed her but there is scratch marks all over her body and she looks horrific. she is said to roam around the world and can go 2 places at once. if you dont post this comment on 5 other videos or websites in ten minutes she will suddenly attack you and kill you in some gruesome way. this is scary coz it happened to my friend. please.
