Thanks for the tutorial! However, when installation folder is removed and I go to Site or Administrator the results are only a blank page. I was looking forward to something more :-). Any help is appreciated! -Henrik

is it possible to take your current host install of joomla and install on local machine? so that all my current contents can be downloaded to my computer?
@djcharliehoodfresh YES indeed! You need to first copy all of your joomla directory to your localhost, and then export your database to your computer and import through phpmyadmin. I will make a video soon of this.
@Romeowasbleeding1 I had same problem, but when you open mamp in your applications before pressing the open start page hit "preferences..." then press the "apache" tab then press select and find where your joomla folder that was unzipped from your download then press ok. The apache server and MySQL server will refresh, then open the start page and go to localhost:8888 without the mamp
Yes, great tutorial. Thanks very much!! Thanks as well to almohvm33 fpr his/her comment as it saved me a lot of frustration. For some reason Joomla puts your username in as your email address, but you need to change it to 'admin' in order to log in to the administration panel.

I get to step 4 :Database when installing Joomla, but get this in red:
message Some errors occurred while populating the database: Table 'mynewwebsite.jos_extensions' doesn't exist SQL=INSERT INTO `jos_extensions` (`extension_id`, `name`, `type`, `element`, `folder`, `client_id`, `enabled`, `access`, `protected`, `manifest_cache`, `params`, `custom_data`, `system_data`, `checked_out`, `checked_out_time`, `ordering`, `state`)
What can I do, to fix this issue?

Hi! The tutorial is great, but I have one problem.
I can get as far as 2.12 but then when I have to navigate to localhost:8888/ it doesn't work, I get an error.
I've installed mamp, and it says that it's working perfectly well.
I have no idea what to do, this is all very alien to me! Could you help?
Thank you so much in advance!
