I've heard of this method a few times. I have a .hack//infection game that doesn't look too bad, yet isn't working. I'm gonna try this for sure over the weekend. I'll leave another comment with the results. Whether it works or doesn't, it was pretty much a waste of money.

Stop using fluoridated toothpaste brush your teeth with. Fluoride toothpaste is not good for your teeth and gums.

Never clean your disk in circular motions. You'll mess it up. Clean it with a rag in up-down motions.

When using a certain kind of toothpaste, don't use whitening or any kind that contains crystals. Used whitening and it nearly destroyed my disk. Other wise it should work.

try putting toothpaste on it and polishing it from the center out for a while. it took me 20 minutes of polishing, but I finally got Sonic Adventure 2 Battle to work again.

just putting toothpaste on the cd for a few minutes probably won't do much. The polishing action in my method should work.

Letting it sit won't make it better, rubbing the toothpaste is what buffs out scratches. its because toothpaste has silica in it that polishes your teeth.

This worked perfect on an original XBOX Rainbow Six disc i had.

As for those complaining (and getting upset) about this not working, don't be such asses. How can you be upset when a game disc didn't work before you tried to fix it?

Also, some CDs may not be able to be fixed because they're too scratched.

i just tryed putting rubbing alcohol on a ps2 disc (Ford racing 3) and now it works perfect. idk if it will help if ur disc has scratches but if it has those weird spots or dirt or anything it will fix it.

It works better with plain white (or so they say). Apparently, anything but regular white with fluoride is too abrasive, and reacts differently than it does otherwise. I tried it on the touch surface of my iPod Touch, and it seemed to help out a little. Not a lot, but some :)

I had to do this again on an old Photoshop disc, everything worked fine using Aquafresh Extreme clean with the micro action bubbles ^^
