I just found this group tonight. Boy, I'm glad I did. They're probably one of the best bands I've come across in such a long time.
And, for some reason, at :56 when the song started to pick up, (wow this is embarrassing), I was just so overwhelmed by this bands quality that I..might've..sort've..started..tearing up..
They are ridiculously incredible.
My life has just become a whole lot better with their music now in it.
And I look forward to exploring their other albums. :)
I hate reading comments on youtube. I've been listening to their new album, then I read a comment that offended me, now whenever I hear that song I always think of that comment.
i don't know how careful you listened to it, so there's no offence here.
when i listened to helplessness blues (the song) i thought the same as you. but i started to get into the album, via the shrine/an argument, and now i really admire the stuff. and in comparison to the first album... well i don't know. i'm trying to imagine: how would i feel about "helplessness blues" if i didn't know "fleet foxes"? i think i'd love it from the start.
Sure it's not as upbeat as the first albums but it's really amazing and has a mystic aura about it that i like..but hey everyone is entitled to their own opinions
@trevorgarford how can you hear this and not call it perfectly magical, its a slow song incase your ears didnt catch it the first time, not a fast song'
@trevorgarford I personally think it shows their growth as musicians and is substantial better then their albeit amazing first album, but you have already been told this and you have the right to your opinion. What is wrong and just absolutely disintergrates your credibility is the fact that you called them THE Fleet Foxes. No the, just Fleet Foxes.
@trevorgarford LOL the "feet foxes" producing a boring album? I could count on my toes the amount of discerning people on the planet that would agree with that comment. I hope I have not put my foot in it ;)
sometimes when i cant seem to find words, i love listening to music that sounds like it's searching for words too. like we understand one another.

@trevorgarford Fuck you asshole. The fleetfoxes are amazing. You have no arguement. Just a pointless and unwanted opinion.
