  • @RCguy171 Yarbles to you! Great bolshy yarblockos!!

  • @DankTendencies love that movie lol now im goin to hang with my droogs

  • @DankTendencies I love you.

  • @RCguy171 That's nice. Play with your remote control cars, now, and leave the art discussion and appreciation to grown-ups.

  • a song about me ... old me rather :o

  • I LOVE Elliott Smith, but from 2:18 its nearly the exact same as the end of 'Miss Misery'. Might sound petty, but just noticed there.

  • @hanusanus666 The tempo and phrasing are similar, but the melody and progression differ a bit. With any musician - even classical composers - you'll find repeating motiffs and similar passages. The example I always give is the film scores of John Williams. If you listen, even though melodically they differ greatly, there are some little tendencies he employs in virtually every one of his compositions. It's usually not intentional imo when musicians do this though. Consider it stylistic tendency.

  • @hanusanus666 I always thought parts of Junk Bond Trader and King's Crossing sounded similar

  • That is haunting me that song.

  • @WinstonLights87 he took a way out, I doubt it was easy......but what's really easy?

  • @maclennan73 subjectivity

  • @WinstonLights87 Yeah, being miserable enough to commit suicide is REAL easy.

  • i was used

  • simply beautiful!!! .Like many other fans I need to hear Elliot Smith songs every day ,RIP Elliot. He never saw his potential realised in his lifetime .

  • Tragic. What a magnificent musician.

  • "The invisible man who's always changing clothes. . . "

    DAMN, he was brilliant.

  • think elliott s had an emotional honesty that is beyond most artists, precisely because he WAS an artist and not a careerist and i make no apologies if that sounds naive...seems like he couldn't do anything but what he did, maybe not the smartest for him mentally but he was driven to channel the feelings 10,000 loose stooges could never manage. I never feel sad listenining to the tunes, but it is uplifting, it does help and i wish he was still here.

  • @1969chrisso well said sir

  • Beautiful.

  • Beautiful.

  • His bitterness is beautiful.

  • this song came up in iTunes and it made me cry. just the music itself did the trick; I didn't even have thoughts in my head really

  • Not my favorite of his songs,

I personally LOVE his live performances ,

    their just so pure,

    his voice was/ IS amazing,

Elliott Smith is better than any drug,

The first time I ever heard "The Biggest Lie" I balled,

    that song hits hard.

    <3 you Elliott RIP.

  • How does one discern one song being better than another one? Couldn't someone easily say this is the best song created in the universe and it would stand true to them?

  • this man is a genius, or was... sadly!!

  • I like Elliot Smith but this song is ok, not one of his best by any means.

  • Yea, this is my song, from 4th grade, it's just a song god damnit.

  • @nocrazyyou

Its a great record all the way through

  • my first elliott smith song was stupidity tries and that was years ago and my 2 one was every thing means nuthing to me

  • This is my favorite song to listen to in my apartment while I'm self medicating. My fate is becoming more transparent.....

  • finally found a song about me. Very real.

  • pathetic really...how shallow a human being can be..

  • @gvlarchnili

    Hey this is my song

  • This song is the embodiment of perfection

  • im learning this song now and although i know the tuning is DGCFAC im not sure if its a semi or full tone down..... anyone?

  • @stonerwes The majority of his songs, certainly pre-Figure 8, seem to be a full step down. DGCFAC is more than a step down. That C on the end should be a D for it to be so, I think.

  • oh yeah i know i have his sheetmusic in front of me and its either a full or semi tone down and the high e is tuned down to c or c sharp . but thats where the problem lies it says tunin DGCFAC to match recording tune all down a semitone. now what im sayin is when u tune ur strings to the aforementioned way do i then drop them by a semitone?? am confused!! lol

  • @stonerwes Oh, right. They mean the same thing. It basically shows you what to tune it to and tells you what that tuning is, for future reference mainly, as far as I'm aware.

  • thanks for the help so basically its jus the highe e down to a c which is different all the other strings are a semitone down ... now to practise! ha!

  • It's a half step down from standard EADGBE. At least, that's how I play it.

  • taking a fall and how to take a fall are the greatest E Smith songs

oh and all the no name songs are fucking amazing!!

  • This is such an amazing song. I just realized how much it feels and sounds like Miss Misery but I prefer this much much more.

    Thx for posting.

  • The invisible man who's always changing clothes...

  • one of my favorite e smith songs ... coming up roses and rose parade .are second and third .

  • This is one of the first songs by him I learned to play on the guitar.

  • This is the first Elliott Smith song I ever listened to

  • @breeeegs It was my first one as well :) It got me caught in the first seconds, it still almost makes me cry.

  • @breeeegs same and it was what saved me cos at the time i just didnt realy cear to even get out of bed i thought there was only darkness left then a friend showed me this asome mans work and it helped me to cry and feal again he is the best .

  • It seems like Elliott Smith's music has helped alot of people get through dark times. I think that is because he was extremely honest and his work expressed emotions that almost anyone can relate to. So his music gave people the strength to go on even though he himself couldn't cope with depression. Beautiful music can have a very powerful effect on the soul

  • @breeeegs me too

  • @unclemeat2u I spent about 2 years completely caught on his music...Learned every song i could, lol though i cant play them all. Hes something else...i always marvel watching the live video at how effortlessly he plays...he has influenced my rhythm playing more than anyone...i will ask, does anyone know just how the hell he does tomorrow tomorrow??? cant even attempt it, its on a totally different level

  • @HyBr1dRaNg3r not gonna lie, tomorrow tomorrow took me a whole summer to get flawless...if you cant pick with three fingers , dont bother trying it , it has alot of very flamenco picking patterns ... that was the last elliott song i ever learned....moved on to my john fahey phase...

  • @HyBr1dRaNg3r there is a good tab/instruction on it. google "robby grossman tomorrow tomorrow" and it is the first result
