I remember for few years ago, i searched for tons of part time jobs, i made CV and Resume, I sent emails to companies that said that they needed employers for part time jobs.
And often i didn't get any answers.
Only time i got one, was hearing of my siblings that someone needed a workers at a boat, i called them, and wouldn't you know, i got the job.
Didn't even have to fill out a resume.
When it comes to searching job on net, its just teasing you from my experience.
Are you willing to take minimum wage to clean shit and puke out of a public bathroom? Do you have a criminal background? Will you submit to a drug test, do you think that you are "above" doing crap labor? Guess what...you'll stay unemployed. The longest I've ever been unemployed is 2 weeks, and that was when the economy was worse than it is now. I'm tired of hearing these B.S. sob stories from a bunch of slackers who think they are above all others because they have a so-called "education".
The worst of it is I send out resumes, the supervisor calls me in for an interview, then after he wastes my time and gas money to get there; he proceeds to tell me there are no openings! But it gets worse..I was actually hired by one of these jerks! I left the interview , he calls me a hour after I got home , told me I had the job and I was to start in one week! I was 10 feet off the ground that day, slept good for 3 nights! On the fourth day he calls me to tell me he can't hire me.
The recession is hurting a lot of people finanicially. Hey but if you're able to take no sometimes and are hard working, with videos you can earn some additional income part time of full time. But you'll need a system to follow to do so
Part 3: We must change and part of that involves paying the true costs for products and services. Forget cheap. Cheap has got us to where we are today with few or no job opportunities, overweight and houses full of materialistic things which most of us will never use. If we all support local businesses we will create more opportunities for local employment. Come-on lets start a REVOLUTION and start taking control.
Part 2: It's time to start a REVOLUTION, it's time to start our own businesses and run them like cooperatives where all members/employees will benefit and not feel like they are being taken for fools by being offered poor wages and no bonuses and then after years of service and helping to build up the companies being told your employment is over.
PART 1: We can blame so called illegals all we want but the truth is we get what we pay for and generally we want CHEAP! My heart goes out to the man in the video and the thousands more just like him who want to work but either cannot gain employment, with or without experience, or who cannot survive on the poultry wage being offered (even though we know that many companies are making millions in profit each year).
Every Job I apply for I have to register on some board and spend two hours filling out the same information over and over. All of this information is clearly stated on my resume and in my cover letter. For some reason I have to spend two hours filling out a profile knowing I will never get a response. If your going to ignore my resume would you at least be considerate enough to let me just email it to you without wasting two hours of my time.
Americans will always hire the cheaper labor. Its obvious so therefore the Mexicans will ALWAYS get all the jobs cause they work for less than minimum wage and they DONT COMPLAIN ABOUT IT, where an American would never work for dirt cheap. America buys and gets other countries to make its stuff for them cause its cheaper than getting an American company to make it. Unless this bullshit changes for the US, there will always be a recession. I see no hope for this country, its fucked
yeah this fucking western world sucks atm too much immigration god damn it if u let too many people in what the fucking are they gonna do they saturate the market with unwanted parasitic vermin that cant speak a word of the countries language. it makes me sick how usa and uk cant even look after there own people its outrageous this is not the world my grandparents spilt blood for THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!
i'm 18 and have applied for around 15 jobs now... i've followed up on every single one and they all have said no. this completely sucks, I have no idea what to do.
In times of economic hardship we need to step out of our comfort zone and even our experience in order to find employment. I don't necessarily want to flip hamburgers but I will. Just an example. It shows the employer that you are dedicated to your own cause and that makes you valuable. However it also puts you in the risk category because you will, when the economy rises, seek employment elsewhere.
I've gotten rejected from Greggs, Tesco, Sainsburys, three garden centres, Martin McColls, Boots, Herdsman job (milking cows), Next and Claires Accessories on the basis of 'a lack of experience'.
I'm 18 too, and took a gap year out to earn some money for uni while gathering work experience in agriculture. Worked for free for 12 weeks on a farm and have only secured one job in Shoezone (which lasted for only a month). Since then...nothing
My husband is 52, his company closed, & it has been almost a yr now & he stll has no job. He has only had a few interviews. My sister got a degree in teaching & can`t get a job. For one position, she said the room is filled w/job hunters. I know a man 60 & his company routinely fires ppl right before retirement. He also got fired but to fight it costs $ & he has bills to pay & kids at home. He`s looking for another job. Head hunters tell my husband just to start his own business. It`s hard.
To the gentleman in the video. Yes you are employable & useful. The country is going through a sad state right now & folks need to wake up; and start putting people before the almighty dollar.
The situation you're in is not your fault. I hope things turn around for the better.
My father worked for a company which let go of all employees over the age of 50.
I took a Human Resources class at a community college which taught students how to not hire "older applicants" without breaking the law & risking a law suit. The textbook actually explained how to look at the applicant's H.S. Graduation year to make sure they were not "too old."
This is sickening. The gentleman in the video did nothing wrong & deserves a chance.
This is why more then ever I want to start my own business but probem is it cost money to start any business and I dont have any. I have been a nanny for 10 yrs and I just tried to do something different this yr and had had some pretty crappy jobs the last few months. I have a job as a telemarketer and get yelled at all day, hate it but its a job. I am going to try and go back to being a nanny, But even that is getting very competitive!
Jamie may I offer advise? Use the references you have developed over the 10 years of being a Nanny and introduce yourself to prospective clients as a non-affiliated independent. You can then charge the clients the same or less (your option) as the agency charges and get all the benefits. You will need to apply for and carry a small business license and build from there. It is an excellent start and a job that will always have a need.
I've been unemployed since july this year...just running with unemployment until that runs out...Cant seem to find a drafting job anywhere, I had a job for 3 years then I was laid off do to lack of work at my company...Suddenly I have rent and a car payment that I wont be able to afford when unemployment runs out.
I just saw your video and I fully understand which are going through. I'm 54 years old and then out of work since march 09. I think what we really have to understand here is that companies have taken advantage of the economic situation to discard older employees. Our government is pretty much doing the same thing.
I am in the same boat. been out of work 6 months applied at many places, however i havent found one yet that gave me the courtesy of at least saying NO! application after application and havent heard a response from any of them. It's a scary scenario, the real shity thing about it is I was never the one that was stupid enough to do do one of these ARM loans and get my house REPOed. Which somewhat started it all. The govenment will continue digging us all into an unrecoverable state of debt.
im 25 and have been unemployed for a year....cant find work anywhere....never thought i would be in this situation when i graduated high school....all i want to do is work...real depressing.....
I'm 25 and I just graduated with an associates degree. Not only can I not find work in my field, but I cant even find work at a local coffee shop... Out of 17 places so far, I've only gotten 1 interview, and that didn't work out. Next month is my last month for being able to pay rent. Guess I'm putting in a 30 day notice on my place...
Tell me about it. I'm in the same situation you are in, and it's very difficult to find a way out. I also have an associate degree, and I even have work experience related to my field, and it's very difficult for me to find a job.
I was layed off from my last job due to downsizing, and it's been very difficult to get interviews at all. Most of the places I see are recruits, which put your name on a list, and hardly ever call you for a job. IT just sucks very bad.
I hear you man. I'm 32, a college grad with a degree in business and I can't find a job either. I'm willing to take anything, If I got a job paying 9.00 bucks an hour I'd be overjoyed. My bank account is almost empty and I'm scared.
I have been unemployed since October, and living in a very uncomfortable family setting right now. I'm going to college, and re-tooling my skill set, but I'm being turned down for the most entry level jobs. I have a great resume but mainly in an industry that has been bankrupted by the recession. Plus I'm in Oregon. We're usually the first ones in and the last ones out.
i think im just going join the Military because i dont know what else to do maybe Army or air force or marines oh wait i cant because they dont take people who has bad allergys

I am sorry to hear that you are at your wit's end trying to find work. I have found a job that barely pays my bills, but there is opportunity if I stick it out. I was hired for a manager's position but there were none available at the time of hire. They asked if I would work with them and learn their procedures. I will be there 6 months in Feb. I hope you find an answer to your troubles very soon. I do agree with you we (America)are swirling the bowl and about to slip down the drain.
im a highly qaulified security officer i have Israeli hand to hand combat certification im certified with Firearms and with first aid i have a D&G licence and ive been trained with mace and a retractable wand and Handcuff im 24 yrs old i have 6yrs work exsperence but yet they will hire a security officer with none of these skill named off they would rather hire some old man that can barley fucking walk or some fat basterd that is 500 pounds that barley fucking walk let alone chase someone down
Joeyal123, don't feel bad, sometime they hire pregnant ladies as security persons too. One time I went to Target and I saw a pregnant security gurard I almost died of laughter. She was very very pregnant.
like the vid but i have a way for all the cons to make honest living. great opportunities await any con clicking on my page and watching my vids. thanks
Are you serious? Blaming it on illegals! WOW! So when the world ends... it'll be all on the illegals too? This comment says a lot you! I hate no one! NO HUMAN is illegal. I have been out of a job for 2 months and NO LUCK! But I still have my head up high and hoping for the best. Good luck.
Lets say your a contractor and you put in a bid of 5,000 to build a house.
Then lets say your competitor who hires illegals puts in a bid of 2,500 because he illegally doesn't pay any taxes, licensing fees or insurance on his illegal workers.
How do you expect to compete? America is about competing FAIRLY. Not winning by cheating.
You have never been out to california have you. First they were working jobs nobody wanted. Picking fruit. Then factory work, contruction. They keep coming and taking jobs. And Im getting sick of being called a racist for speaking the truth on what I am seeing.
LIKE I SAID YOU CAN'T BLAME THEM!! for working cheaper!! your acting as if they are the ones who RUN THE CORPORATION!! quit buying the products that support illegal alien work. SIMPLE ECONOMICS 101
I have a BS degree in Management, a Masters degree in Information Systems, and years of experience at IBM. I haven't been able to find anything for over the past 2 years, outside of 20-30 hours over a 3 week period in May of this year. I am curious how exactly illegal aliens are costing me work.
I don`t blame illegals. They just want to wk like other ppl too but the one`s hiring them are the bad ones. My sis. lives in TX & she was fired from a job so her boss could let her illegal friend have her hospital job! We think the illegals are just getting cheap seasonal fruit picking jobs but they aren`t. They are getting good, full benefits, US citizens jobs.
If YOU cannot out-compete a Illegal, can't speak english, no social skill, very little cultural understanding Immigrant to get a basic part-time job, it says a lot about you. With all due respect, stop whining and blaming immigrants for your lack of competence...SIR. If you REALLY had the DRIVE, Passion, and motive, you will find a job, end of story. I am tired of people whining about life by blaming external circumstances. Remember, at the end of the day, you are the captain of your ship.
Your accusations have no bearing on reality. How can you compete for a wage with immigrants whom work under the table and allow the employer to pay no taxes. America is all about competition; but don't mistake getting gaining an edge by breaking laws as superiority.
It has to do with how valuable you are to the marketplace. (Freemarket System) This is what happens when you put your future/destiny in the hands of some company. IE: You don't see neurosurgeons in Beverly hills complaining about how they are loosing their precious jobs to some illegal immigrant with minimal communications skills.
The foundation of a free market economy is laws that allow competition. Competition cannot exist in a place where there is not a high level of law and order. By that tenet you cannot proceed to comparing competitiveness.
I'll give you an example: Lets say your x computer manufacturer and you save money by illegally dumping mercury in a pond behind your factory. You save money but is that competitive compared to companies that need to pay for toxic items to be disposed of? No it's not.
I am very pleased that your life has taken a change, life always does and that is what always keeps it interesting, sometimes it takes a long time sometimes it is quick. I have been feeling a little trapped myself and waiting for that to change, waiting is all we can do as I have learned that I cannot force change, I can always change myself yet I would rather others change instead as I think I have it figured out, it is others who just selfishly get in the way of my personal happiness.
I haven't found work in three months and I'm depressed and miserable. I've sent out zillions of resumes and the interviews have been minimal. I've NEVER had such a frustrating situation with finding work before. Damn politicians ruining our lives.
I am a math graduate from best university in Canada. I have 3 years of analyst experience in the army. I am 23, young and healthy. I have been looking for work for 4 months now. This is still very depressing.
I know exactly what you're going through. I'm an eighteen year old female from NYC. Its so hard to find work. Just finished H.S. I can't even get a waitress job! Im serious. Whats going on? Cant get ANY work, and this shit is pissing me off. Im going broke cause of it and my mom has to work so hard. I hate it cause i cant even contribute yet. This country gets on my fucking nerves. Fuck American.
wow im in the exact same situation as you ..im also living in the city and i even have my associates degree..my mom is working crazy hard and its killing me..wtf!
I came home today after filling out apps and thought to myself, maybe companies are not really hiring and the job ads are to keep up appearances for the American economy. You know they cook the books anyway. It is very upsetting to be qualified for many positions
and have the company not respond or tell you we hired all we are going to. What are we to do?
I am in the same boat, looking for 6 months. I am 40 with tons of experience. I was so pleased to find you and see that it is not just me. I found a video on here check it out.
yea. I cant find a job either. Its ridiculous, i worked through manpower for two weeks until my assignment ended. Ive been looking for 7 months. Starting to lose hope.
I am having trouble as well. I have a college degree and am young 29 years old but unable to find a job. I am working only part time retail. But only pays minimum wage and I still have to live with my parents, it really sucks going to job interview after interview and still not finding anything.
That is such a shame in our country!I applaud the fact you wish to find a job instead of being like the lazy generation(18-30)keeping you from finding work and complaining all the time about how rough their job is.Best Wishes to you sir and i dearly hope you get what you are looking for!

I hope you find an answer to your troubles very soon. I do agree with you we (America)are swirling the bowl and about to slip down the drain.

Joeyal123, don't feel bad, sometime they hire pregnant ladies as security persons too. One time I went to Target and I saw a pregnant security gurard I almost died of laughter. She was very very pregnant.

Good luck.

Illegals are a problem.

Blame both of them. They illegally came, employers illegally hired them
TheNuReturn 2 years ago

I am curious how exactly illegal aliens are costing me work.
richardhutnik 2 years ago

America is all about competition; but don't mistake getting gaining an edge by breaking laws as superiority.
drealm 2 years ago
@drealm
It has to do with how valuable you are to the marketplace. (Freemarket System) This is what happens when you put your future/destiny in the hands of some company. IE: You don't see neurosurgeons in Beverly hills complaining about how they are loosing their precious jobs to some illegal immigrant with minimal communications skills.
alanbrit 2 years ago

I came home today after filling out apps and thought to myself, maybe companies are not really hiring and the job ads are to keep up appearances for the American economy. You know they cook the books anyway. It is very upsetting to be qualified for many positions
and have the company not respond or tell you we hired all we are going to. What are we to do?
speciesamused 3 years ago 13
I am in the same boat, looking for 6 months. I am 40 with tons of experience. I was so pleased to find you and see that it is not just me. I found a video on here check it out.

jpeters455 3 years ago 4
That is such a shame in our country!I applaud the fact you wish to find a job instead of being like the lazy generation(18-30)keeping you from finding work and complaining all the time about how rough their job is.Best Wishes to you sir and i dearly hope you get what you are looking for!
