sometimes, when I feel like a laugh, I watch these paleo/primal videos advocating consumption of high amounts of saturated fat and cholesterol and warning of the dangers of whole grains and potatoes. I can't help but feel so much pity and disgust for the people who are living this way. You make me fucking sick.
Remarkable video footage... I've been implementing DietOramy program (saw it on google) for a handful of time now and my personal overall results have actually been astonishing - I shed 9 percent of my total excess body fat during the
There is a contradiction on everything I've read on the Paleo diet, Books suggest nuts as part of the nutrition regime yet exclude legumes. Peanuts grow in roots, but many consider them nuts, so what exclusion is there?
@datzfast Written world history? Jesus man... I am talking primary sourced world history and secondary source. And even the current means of dietary sustainability. And you just got done naming all the food groups I eat, I am not sure what stance you are coming from. Why would I die? Meat is calorie dense and can sustain the world. Just like complex carbs. I do not eat complex carbs though. What is your argument here?
ltes all talk sustaible diets under a scientific standpiont. i cup of undigestible grains converted to digestable food via starch extraction, requires more caloric input in the planting, harvesting, grinding, cooking , than can be stored in that same cup of grains. untill man enslaved other humans or animals grains could not be eaten. sustainability? end of fuckin story lads.
once upon a time in a land far away two brothers were trying to bribe a politician , one gave a burnt offering of meat, the other tried to fudge it by burning some whole grains or other shit like that. well god got royal pissed and cursed Cain and told him to get the fuck out and dont come back. well , Cain in a vegan induced dementia state, murdered his brother, who could make fine baby back ribs, but really didnt have a damn thing to do with god getting pissed of at some indigestable grains.
whole grains delay the onset of diabetes heart disease and obesity so do i get like what? five years or so.it seems to me grains in general are worthless caloric filler because i can eat more fiber in a big ass salad than a month of whole grain pancakes. and if its such great nutrition how come it always has to have added nutrients to justify its existance.
Um...Why are so many vegans here..if you are a vegetarian why would u even be looking at the caveman/paleo diet? Why do i even waste my time making clear cut common sense commets. You will never cacth me on a vegan video trying to throw my meat around. Most warm blooded mammels live on meat, and most large predators through out history evovled that way. I am not here to convice any vegan/ or veggie to become a meat eater. I could care less. I am here to learn about this diet. So annoying
@conniewalker79 Yep, it's annoying. I know because meat-eaters often come to vegan videos. And Paleo's and high-fruit(80/10/10rs) come to each others vids. That's how I heard about Paleo, and so I'm curious.
I'm surprised this video said you can eat all the fruit you want. And commenters suggesting our diet can only be meat or grain based; so meat is it, since grain is unnatual for us. But there's no fruitarian/primate people here suggesting fruit . . . . 'till now. :))
@FutureLaugh not sure if you can call it paleo when you include dairy. Dairy and Grains are the two big things this diet avoids. Nuts are fine with the diet except for peanuts which are actually legumes.
@FutureLaugh its all good dont get cuaght up in some dogma. just local, organic, whole foods. Get your dairy raw and unpasterized. From grasss fed cows. Also you can get fermented dairy like kefir which is very healthy and has no lactose. soak your nuts and beans. sprout then if you can.
YouTube Is not the best place to argue ideas like a forum. Intelligent comments get lost in the unintelligible and trolling posts. I did not base this argument to cover ALL logical fallacies and will not monitor the posts and answer questions to feed the trolls. If a matter is really pressing you shoot me a pm instead of flaming others.
Then how come all of the paleo crew like Mark Sisson and Loren Cordain tell you to buy their Primal BluePrint supplement and protein powders? I am sure they had protein powder and antioxidant supplements in primal days...NOT!
@hjillagen Lol, complete nonsense. I know guys on the paleo diet who eat only foods that were available back then. Drinking stimulants like coffee and coca cola and guzzling protein shakes doesn't belong in paleo no matter what you say. Personally, I want to see you find a wild animal in the woods and sink your teeth into its flesh or eat some roadkill. Coffee and protein shakes on a paleo diet.....what a joke.
@thespecter2 You are calling me a veg like it's supposed to be some kind of insult. I only eat fresh, ripe, organic fruits and vegetables. You eat roadkill.
@IronCobra22 No, I don't eat roadkill. Veg is an insult. It is a selfish and worldwide unsustainable diet. NO culture or society has thrived on a vegan diet, sorry. And don't bring be "China Study" science. Gain some knowledge of history. Even Asian cultures since the beginning of time have thrived on agriculture, horticulture, AND pastoralism. While I think horticulture is the best means of sustenance, even strict horticulture societies still consume at LEAST 20 percent animal based products.
@thespecter2 Veg is not an insult. Its short for vegan. LMFAO. I dont take it as an insult. Saying that we need to eat meat to thrive because all the past cultures ate meat is like saying we need to keep having war, murder, and rape because all cultures in the past have done that. Learn from past mistakes, dummy. Just because cultures in the past have done it, doesnt mean that we have to do it too simply because they did it before us. Learn to evolve. There are vegans who lived a very long life.
@IronCobra22 Yeah and vegan is insulting to the human race. Saying eating meat to thrive is nothing like saying we need war, murder, and rape still. You are comparing something that maintained our SURVIVAL as a species, and at a time was our only means of subsistence with something that degraded and killed the human species... You fool. There are people who eat shit that live very long lives as well. Veganism is selfish and senseless.
At the time of migration of cavemen, they were forced to eat meat, correct. The theory is that our brain size has grown to what it is now. (this is just a theory and not enough supporting facts to be sure). But nowadays there is absolutely no (bio)logical reason to eat meat. Eat no (or alot less) meat can give mankind alot of things: no world hunger, less cancer and heart decease, fresh water for everybody, and not to mention alot of happy (not killed) animals! peace.
@JordiSmulders So if we stop eating meat, we are going to end world hunger? I assume we will replace the meat with agricultural means such as rice, wheat, corn, potatoes, etc. Calorie and carbohydrate dense foods which are cheaply and easily mass produced. So when the meat eaters go down, so will the "raw vegans" because raw veganism is impossible on a global scale. That is why horticultural societies are so small. And even horticultural societies use at least SOME animal based products.
I have a hard time understanding you. What would be the exact reason you could not exclude meat out of a diet, or a whole production? This would be no overnight thing ofcourse, but I bet you can inform me more clearly what your point is.
@JordiSmulders Basically, I as me, could. The amount of vegetables I would have to eat in order to eat, for example, a "raw food diet" is tremendous because of how low in calories fruits and namely vegetables are. Raw food is impossible for the world or even a large population to sustain because of this. Production of low calorie foods is not long term sustenance.
@thespecter2 actually only two percent of humans are employed in agriculture globally. soon that nuber will fall to zero. i think labor wise cooperations that grow all the food can deliver any food we demand. your statment is complete nonsense. food is a cooperate product grown for profiet , no one grows food for hunger. RAW food is impossible for the world? what world is that
@datzfast Actually your statement is complete nonsense because I am not mentioning anything about employment rates. When I say agriculture, I am talking about raising of animals on farms but namely production of high crop yields... aka corn, rice, beans, potatoes. Things that feed large populations and become staple foods. The world is this world. Caloric intake for 6.8 billion people is not sustainable on a raw food diet.
@datzfast I am a lost cause? Because I studied world history and know that it is impossible to sustain such a selfish diet? Unless you are consuming calorie dense food such as meat or grains, then you are absolutely hoarding food. Hoarding fresh vegetables that are considered precious commodities in other locations. I think you are missing your head.
@the specter 2 you are studying written world history, you are ignoring the rest. so in your opinion, i, me, myself, should be eating a sub- optimal diet that will reduce my life span for your pleasue of existance? well since i dont have to do that, i wont. and to make matters worse for you, i will tell others. In fact as the demand for fruit vegatable fresh meats and nuts increase the price will rise untill one of two happen, you die or production increases. im looking foward . cheers fucker
@thespecter2 All the longest-lived populations ever studied ate starch based diets which were high-carb and low fat. The best example was the okinawans( before the 50's). Yes all the longest-lived and healthiest populations ate meat but it was a very low percentage (under 5% of total cals) and nothing like the paleo diet. Don't bring up the inuits or eskimos as they were not one of them and were shown to have atherosclerosis and the Masai had a life expectancy in the 50's.
@82Bdog I was trying to point out that you MUST have a staple crop/staple in pastoral means for a large population to sustain itself. AKA rice/beef, which are just examples. You don't need both but you do need at least one. Living off of raw-vegan vegetables is nowhere near adequate, which is my argument. I think having a mix of fat and carbs is the best idea. I do eat complex carbs in a sense, if you count sweet potatoes, root vegetables, and oats.
@JordiSmulders does a biological reason exist not to eat meat? whole grains delay the onset of diabetes heart disease and obesity so do i get like what? five years or so.it seems to me grains in general are worthless caloric filler because i can eat more fiber in a big ass salad than a month of whole grain pancakes. and if its such great nutrition how come it always has to have added nutrients to justify its existance. in short the food pyrimid you eat kills you prematurly according your own .
@smurfieboo Aztecs have not been around more than 10k years .... where are you getting that? They arived sometime in the 13th century AD. The main idea of the "Paleo" diet is to revert to a pre-agriculture diet - the "Hunter/Gatherer" diet as it also is called requires things that can be either A) hunted or B) gathered. Potatoes are part of the "nightshade" family and while it is not a strict NO on the paleo scale of things, you would be much better served to go with sweet potatoes more nutrient
s per serving. Keep in mind that the Aztecs, as well as the Incans, Myans, Egyptians, Babylonians, etc. Were very complex and organized societies that relied on farming to support the food needs of the people it was governing and as a result could free up the resources needed for hunting and gathering to more "state appropriate" needs such as war, capitalism, etc but that's another story for another time. Basically go with veggies and meats over filler and you'll be healthier 4 it
A little silly the whole paleo thing. Just because it's better than the Western diet doesn't mean it's the best diet for us. The China Study proves this I think. The best diet is probably carb-centric raw veganism :)
@hoppimike The china study has been completely decimated by many people. Denise minger from rawfoodsos has systematically dissected the china study and shown how flawed and bias the whole thing was. Dr. Loren Cordain (author of The paleo diet) also had a debate with Dr. Colin Campbell (author of the china study) about the roles of animal proteins in our diet and Cordain destroyed him... campbell did not treat the debate as a serious thing, probably because he knew he couldn't prove a point.
@BLaZeDRas LOL no it hasn't and denise minger has been debunked and even campbell responded to her. Cordain isn't on the level of campbell and denise minger is some random blogger that all you paleo crew jumped on when she really didn't debunk anything. All the longest-lived populations ate high-carb plant foods as their staples (whether it was corn, rice, potatoes, quinoa, etc)
@82Bdog Minger simply took Campbell's data and compiled them using statistics. The data are all over the place and did not show much statistic significance. I have yet to see anyone debunk her math. Not even Campbell.
if you look at the US population pyramid modern man starts dying of old age at about 50 years of age and then as predictable as rain are for the most part half dead by age 67. that life span of eighty years are for the 3 percent. so if government said you were going to live longer it was because they just wanted your income tax until your death.
@TheFavorite95 I'm serious about that i mean modern men would be better of if they would give up the meat eating then they get more gentle and that's what women deep in their hearts like more instead of men whith a lot of bravour and often misguided heroism. it's easer for the men too then they don't have to prove themself all the time or to protect themself from other men who have the same problem, or to prentend to be not afraid. many (sensetive) people feel the fear of the animals they eat
@Ineke210000 sure dude untill a cave man moves in next door and takes your woman. because cave men eat meat. and taking your woman just comes so damn easy .then next thing you know your raising a little cave man that looks just like the guy who used to live next door but has moved on.but thats ok because your newly found woman side makes it just so damn easy to raise his kids.
i9 just learned of this diet, wow in the same articles the idiot sujested eating beans and low fat dairy, what a fool, he couldnt saty focused enought to even stay on topic.
I cured SLE LUPUS via Detox & Diet all fresh fruits and vegetables and water with only 100 percent juice no high fructose corn syrup...amen for this video.
you really do have a point... as the humans learned hunting and their body adapted for almost 1 million years to a certain kind of food... no doubt.
but you miss the very point: ~16.000 years ago we mastered the agriculture... and the first human cities appeared. grain crops made our entire civilization possible! not to mention the outstanding developement of our brain... in the last 10.000 years eating grains, we managed to become evolved humans... from cavemen. doesn't this ring your bell?
Question: Why was it that "cavemen" only lived into their 60's? I'm not denying the Paleo Diet (I've actually followed for two weeks and think it's awesome), but I'm just curious as to whether "cavemen" died of health-related illness, because that might show a hole in the logic behind it.
@JMan9391 Early humans lived very dangerous lives. They hunted large dangerous animals and did not have modern medicine to nurse them back to health. However, they were very fit.
@JMan9391 let me help, cave men didnt die of heart diease or diabetes, they died of the same infections that would kill you and would kill you if you had no antibiotics. so insead of dying of infection the modern caveman could live to perhaps 100 or longer but only if he eats the paleo diet. so, what is in the paleo diet that is not in modernmans diet after all its not what that you eat that kills you, its what you dont eat, and that answer is right in your face.15 x the vitamine C and meat
@despookyhhr the reason why nuts are inflaming your divertucli (and probably microvilli) is because you may not be getting the right ratio of omega 3 and 6's. I don't know your body type or personal needs but a healthy male (say a disesase free, has eaten paleo all of his life, active etc) would have a 1:1.5 ratio of omega 3's to 6's. I honestly feel that getting the right ratio for whatever you need might do a great deal of help. Good luck to your health :)
wait, when you say no fructose, there's fructose in fruits naturally. Fruits and veggies should be our only intake of sugar right (also honey, agave nectar)?
The primal diet isn't supposed to portray that we hunt with a spear, gather our food, etc. It's a LIFESTYLE in which you decide that living a long happy and healthy life is more important than that piece of cold pizza. People like the primal diet because not only does it help them look good, but it makes them feel even better. Your body feels clean and you never feel groggy. Everyone has a right to do what they want with their body, but I for one am choosing to feel the best that I possibly can
@despookyhhr Right, Paleo is marketed as weight loss system, ,,, gluten free, ,,, you name it. Why? Cause, it's a product that needs to be sold and it appeals to what public knows and wants, - after all, who would print books, create sites for free, right? But does this alone mean that it's fad? About spear - if i can't hunt, i won't give up eating meat right? Also, Paleo is what humans have been eating 99% of their history - you just can't go wrong with that. Think about it.
@despookyhhr I think you should try it and see how you feel, if you dont like it and dont feel the benefits after 30 days then fine go back to whinging on Youtube. If however you do feel the benefits this lifestyle gives you then please continue.
pretty dumb statement people have evolved in so many ways, it only makes sense that they want tastier food, it also only makes sense that humans expeimented with food, given the fact that their is so much diff stuff eatin now a days. ya nobody ate unprocesssed food but ithey also werent driving cars watching tv or flyig to the moon....good day dummies
@loplips Actually, in the past. Everyone ate unprocessed foods, it's best to learn about how your body reacts to certain foods through experimentation and analysis of your closest relatives (mom and dad + familiy) and it wouldn't kill you to take a English writing class.
@baihbalm i know everyone ate unprocessed food, all im saying that humanity is evolved in literally everyway and got smarter on everything on this planet and even in space....so obviously theres going to people making better food and experimenting with that also. Even a caveman would rather have a mcdonalds cheeseburger over some unprocessed freshly killed meat. ANNNd what kindve nerd takes a english writing class just for the fuck of it? ill stick to eating what i want and working it off
@loplips FYI, it takes the human species approximately 2000 years or more to adapt to a new diet. So no, we haven't 'evolved' to our current diets in it's entirety. A good example is how some Europeans have adapted to drinking milk from other mammals, while most if not all native Americans (who are Asian by decent) have not = lactose intolerance. You're most likely going to be working for a nerd in the future, so please do yourself a favor and learn to write. I won't be the last to say it.
@baihbalm FYI its year 2011 idiot and by my count thats more than 2000 yrs of adaptation. OOOOO and also i wont be working for anyone especially a NERD, I never had a job and will never need one. im sure your going to start talking shit on how im lying & all this crap but sinve im native american i get paid a montly per capita! its low right now at around 5000$- 6000$ a month its usually way more...PS im only 20. hahahaha if only you knew
@loplips Wow, you're far more stupid then I previously imagined. You're 20 years of age, and write at a 3rd grade level? On top of that, you have no understanding that being a Native American; your ancestors have not had 2000 years to adapt to grains, rice, beans, or milk.... So you're point is mute. If there's anyone that deserves to get diabetes, it's you. Not to mention since you are Native American, you are much more susceptible to the disease. Good luck living in perpetual ignorance.
@loplips You stick to eating to whatever you want - nobody will tell you not to. Caveman would be likely to choose McDonalds, just like a kid would choose candy - humans are IRRATIONAL, they are after the feelings, so they want it to be "tasty", - humans smoke, humans overdrink, humans take drugs. Nothing obvious about "making better food" resulting in the progress (in fact, it's funny :-)))). So, eat what you like, nobody cares, really
@valgez1 I will!!! stick to eating what I want because that shits way tastier, I would rather live knowing i did what i want & ate what i want instead of forcing myself to eat shit that might be ok tasting & a lil more healthy for you. Damn right humans do all that I got drunk yesterday and i smoke weed everyday so thats that... but you know what i had fun! SO eat your paleo and ill eat my cold pizza!
@loplips Yeah! I too like getting drunk and high every now and then! After all, all this stuff wasn't created in the laboratory, HAHA!! And yeah, trust me, 500 grams of high grade beef or Salmon (Of course, RAW!!!) suits my body and souls needs much better than cold pizza :-)
@valgez1 I'm talking abaot the influensce eating creatures with a soul ( and a will of their own) has on the consumer, i'v come on a bit to strong. al the same i still think that it should not only be on eating what brings the nutriunts you need but that is should not come through suffering,
i also thought that you were raw meat eaters, are you or not?.
@Ineke210000 Yes, I am a raw meat eater, but that's not important. I don't deny the idea that eating other living creatures may have an effect on our souls on the high vibe level. I just don't find it applicable in my life and in the world we're leaving in. May be, in some 10,000 years people will not eat meat at all, and will have telepathic abilities, but with fragile bodies? Men have always eaten meat, i don't see reason not to, btw, my body and my soul need it.
@Ineke210000 Animals don't have human consciousnesses, we have the burden of that. Most of the empathy we feel is misplaced since we do not know what it is like to be an animal. We see similar reactions in us but we still don't know. Cut the sensitive crap too please lol.
I'm hooked on paleo-right now I don't know how to eat non-paleo way. It took me 3 times to finally give up grains but I finally did and it was the greatest change I ever did to improve my health. Another thing was giving up unhealthy plant based polyunsaturated fats and replacing them with saturated animal and coconut oils as and monounsaturated fats. It just makes sense now and I'm glad I realized it.
To work so hard to own things is a passion that comes forth from animal products, animals are being created onder force, kept as slaves, their 'kids' are being taken from them as wel as their milk, honey eggs etc. finaly they are being killed, people consume that , which thanslates itself into greed, need to posess , agression, fear, carelessness, etc.Don't you know the saying "we afe what we eat? .Animals and people have a soul (plants don't.) the soul cannot be devided. i'm sorry anyway
@Ineke210000 thats a bit extreme tho I wouldnt say youre wrong either. I am no way a christian but I was just thinking earlier how blessing and praying and showing appreciation to yourself and for staying on topics sake the food is necessary.
I assume most ppl have seen the pics of water mircoscoped after being blessed, comparing to have been cursed.
you'll have to do it yourself cus society nowadays dont promote/market the good simply because it doesnt make the value (cash. unfortunately)
@Qjemuse It's for a great deal in Karma and Ahimsa or in the christian version 'Don't do to another what you would not have them do to you' that also aplies on what we do to animals i think.
@Ineke210000 yeah... you say that, but it is genetically programmed that women want guys that treat people like crap. i am a 6'3" powerlifter, and nice to everyone, and my fiance at the time cheated on me with someone that was a total jerk, while i was working 70 hours a week to take care of her.
all right! im going to do this diet! as soon as i make a lot more money, get more time on my hands, and have it readily available.... seriously, do people prefer fast food? not really, but we live in an age where most huseholds have kids, and the parents struggle to make ends meet. Mcdonalds and taco bell make it easy, because i personally have little time to prep a meal, clean, and take care of my family. i do exercise though. anyone else feel this way?
@spidanez course we all do man I wish you all the best you seem a genuinely nice guy. Im just getting into weight liftings and this diet seems a good place to start.
@TheFavorite95 It is possible, as the video says it is very affordable in the long term. Eventually, the decrease in all the diseases associated with non Paleo diets, cardiovascular diseases etc and obesity would rapidly drop reducing healthcare costs. So there would be a huge return on the investment into caveman foods.
@TheFavorite95 - Yes, but I am on fish, nuts, meat, veggies and berries. The whole point of fatty meat is that i reduce the carbs, do not have grain/beans and I need an alternative energy source.
@Catherine8raw - New Zealand mince lamb, grass fed/forage fed organic Beef from tesco (don't offer this all year around). Wild duck (skinny!) Pheasant from waitrose. I completely agree with you, it is hard to find some decent meat, especially fatty and tasty, like venison/goose in the winter. For most of the year in the UK, the meat is not fatty it is skinny, hunter gatherers must of been getting their fatty meat in an ice age. Wild meat is lower in saturated fat & omega6 and high omega 3.
Interesting that the video mentions mass starvation if we eliminate grains but doesn't answer how to make the paleo diet work on a large scale. The answer is, that it can't. If you turn all the fields of grain into pasture for cattle, bison, ect, you will not be able to feed the world's current population. I admit that organic foods and grass-fed meats are better, but high-yield grains are the only way to (barely) feed 6.5 billion people.
@BigPoppaChump with respect to your opinion , this is mine. if everyone in the us stopped being over eaters and did portion control, it is possiblenot to mention very cheap at the suppermarket. but, i dont think it is realistic because you swear people will lay off on fast food.
Almost all the gmo soy is cattlefood for one pound of meat 3 upto 18 pounds of GMO soy is being used, you fourage in nature you steel the food of the animals in the wild, and they already have so little left.
besides i'm not to scared of gmo soy, it only ruins the enveroment because it is made to take survive more poison, of cause i'm against GMO too, but that is to be able to harvest more because the meat production is so wastfull!
Listen we can't go back in time, and don't have to, here's hardly any hard labour anymore The production of 1 pound of meat takes 3 to 18 pounds of vegetable food, and 50 to a 100 times more water. and produces aprox. 25%of greenhouse gasses comes from cattlefarming Besides eating vegan is far more healthy and delicious! We need more land for food and to create vegetable plastics. since were running out of mineral oil i'm not out to insult anyone, i mean it well
@Ineke210000 How does that make any sense? I'm pretty sure you can't define a "real man" based on what they eat. Humans have eaten meat forever and will continue to do so. You can't live off of GMO soy. :o)
"All unprocessed meats" - and at least 1/3 shown are salamis, sausages and bacon? (Salt, nitrates, nitrites, lactose ingredients did not exist in the paleo diet). Just $0.02.
I am gluten intolerant. Paleo works perfectly for me. I can see and feel the difference. I have a farmers market nearby and Whole Foods sells meat and eggs for local farmers, grass fed.

It does sound like the Atkins diet repackaged and marketed. But hey, if it works then do be it.
tatsumakisempyukaku 5 days ago
It's only similarities to Atkins are that it's not low-fat.
It's quite more restrictive than Atkins. Meats should come from pasture-raised/grass-fed organic sources, no dairy, no processed meats, etc.
It's not like Atkins at all if you look at it. saying it is, tecnolover2642, makes me think you're likely a anti-paleo or vegan troll...

And you just got done naming all the food groups I eat, I am not sure what stance you are coming from. Why would I die? Meat is calorie dense and can sustain the world. Just like complex carbs. I do not eat complex carbs though. What is your argument here?
thespecter2 3 months ago
ltes all talk sustaible diets under a scientific standpiont. i cup of undigestible grains converted to digestable food via starch extraction, requires more caloric input in the planting, harvesting, grinding, cooking , than can be stored in that same cup of grains. untill man enslaved other humans or animals grains could not be eaten. sustainability? end of fuckin story lads.
datzfast 3 months ago
once upon a time in a land far away two brothers were trying to bribe a politician , one gave a burnt offering of meat, the other tried to fudge it by burning some whole grains or other shit like that. well god got royal pissed and cursed Cain and told him to get the fuck out and dont come back. well , Cain in a vegan induced dementia state, murdered his brother, who could make fine baby back ribs, but really didnt have a damn thing to do with god getting pissed of at some indigestable grains.
datzfast 3 months ago
whole grains delay the onset of diabetes heart disease and obesity so do i get like what? five years or so.it seems to me grains in general are worthless caloric filler because i can eat more fiber in a big ass salad than a month of whole grain pancakes. and if its such great nutrition how come it always has to have added nutrients to justify its existance.
datzfast 3 months ago
Um...Why are so many vegans here..if you are a vegetarian why would u even be looking at the caveman/paleo diet? Why do i even waste my time making clear cut common sense commets. You will never cacth me on a vegan video trying to throw my meat around. Most warm blooded mammels live on meat, and most large predators through out history evovled that way. I am not here to convice any vegan/ or veggie to become a meat eater. I could care less. I am here to learn about this diet. So annoying
conniewalker79 3 months ago
@conniewalker79 Yep, it's annoying. I know because meat-eaters often come to vegan videos. And Paleo's and high-fruit(80/10/10rs) come to each others vids. That's how I heard about Paleo, and so I'm curious.
I'm surprised this video said you can eat all the fruit you want. And commenters suggesting our diet can only be meat or grain based; so meat is it, since grain is unnatual for us. But there's no fruitarian/primate people here suggesting fruit . . . . 'till now. :))

YouTube Is not the best place to argue ideas like a forum. Intelligent comments get lost in the unintelligible and trolling posts. I did not base this argument to cover ALL logical fallacies and will not monitor the posts and answer questions to feed the trolls. That is all.

Then how come all of the paleo crew like Mark Sisson and Loren Cordain tell you to buy their Primal BluePrint supplement and protein powders? I am sure they had protein powder and antioxidant supplements in primal days...NOT!
IronCobra22 4 months ago
@IronCobra22 stop trolling! the paleo diet isn't to eat EXACTLY what our paleolithic ancestors did, but is inspired from it
hjillagen 4 months ago
@hjillagen Lol, complete nonsense. I know guys on the paleo diet who eat only foods that were available back then. Drinking stimulants like coffee and coca cola and guzzling protein shakes doesn't belong in paleo no matter what you say. Personally, I want to see you find a wild animal in the woods and sink your teeth into its flesh or eat some roadkill. Coffee and protein shakes on a paleo diet.....what a joke.
IronCobra22 4 months ago
@IronCobra22 Go eat some rotting vegetables than, you veg.
thespecter2 4 months ago
@thespecter2 You are calling me a veg like it's supposed to be some kind of insult. I only eat fresh, ripe, organic fruits and vegetables. You eat roadkill.
IronCobra22 4 months ago
@IronCobra22 No, I don't eat roadkill. Veg is an insult. It is a selfish and worldwide unsustainable diet. NO culture or society has thrived on a vegan diet, sorry. And don't bring be "China Study" science. Gain some knowledge of history. Even Asian cultures since the beginning of time have thrived on agriculture, horticulture, AND pastoralism. While I think horticulture is the best means of sustenance, even strict horticulture societies still consume at LEAST 20 percent animal based products.
thespecter2 4 months ago
@thespecter2 Veg is not an insult. Its short for vegan. LMFAO. I dont take it as an insult. Saying that we need to eat meat to thrive because all the past cultures ate meat is like saying we need to keep having war, murder, and rape because all cultures in the past have done that. Learn from past mistakes, dummy. Just because cultures in the past have done it, doesnt mean that we have to do it too simply because they did it before us. Learn to evolve. There are vegans who lived a very long life.
IronCobra22 4 months ago
@IronCobra22 Yeah and vegan is insulting to the human race. Saying eating meat to thrive is nothing like saying we need war, murder, and rape still. You are comparing something that maintained our SURVIVAL as a species, and at a time was our only means of subsistence with something that degraded and killed the human species... You fool. There are people who eat shit that live very long lives as well. Veganism is selfish and senseless.
thespecter2 4 months ago
@thespecter2
At the time of migration of cavemen, they were forced to eat meat, correct. The theory is that our brain size has grown to what it is now. (this is just a theory and not enough supporting facts to be sure). But nowadays there is absolutely no (bio)logical reason to eat meat. Eat no (or alot less) meat can give mankind alot of things: no world hunger, less cancer and heart decease, fresh water for everybody, and not to mention alot of happy (not killed) animals! peace.
JordiSmulders 4 months ago
@JordiSmulders So if we stop eating meat, we are going to end world hunger? I assume we will replace the meat with agricultural means such as rice, wheat, corn, potatoes, etc. Calorie and carbohydrate dense foods which are cheaply and easily mass produced. So when the meat eaters go down, so will the "raw vegans" because raw veganism is impossible on a global scale. That is why horticultural societies are so small. And even horticultural societies use at least SOME animal based products.
thespecter2 4 months ago
@thespecter2
I have a hard time understanding you. What would be the exact reason you could not exclude meat out of a diet, or a whole production? This would be no overnight thing ofcourse, but I bet you can inform me more clearly what your point is.
JordiSmulders 4 months ago
@JordiSmulders Basically, I as me, could. The amount of vegetables I would have to eat in order to eat, for example, a "raw food diet" is tremendous because of how low in calories fruits and namely vegetables are. Raw food is impossible for the world or even a large population to sustain because of this. Production of low calorie foods is not long term sustenance.
thespecter2 4 months ago
@thespecter2 actually only two percent of humans are employed in agriculture globally. soon that nuber will fall to zero. i think labor wise cooperations that grow all the food can deliver any food we demand. your statment is complete nonsense. food is a cooperate product grown for profiet , no one grows food for hunger. RAW food is impossible for the world? what world is that
datzfast 3 months ago
@datzfast Actually your statement is complete nonsense because I am not mentioning anything about employment rates. When I say agriculture, I am talking about raising of animals on farms but namely production of high crop yields... aka corn, rice, beans, potatoes. Things that feed large populations and become staple foods. The world is this world. Caloric intake for 6.8 billion people is not sustainable on a raw food diet.
thespecter2 3 months ago
@thespecter2 what ever, you completely missed the boat. you are a lost cause.
datzfast 3 months ago
@datzfast I am a lost cause? Because I studied world history and know that it is impossible to sustain such a selfish diet? Unless you are consuming calorie dense food such as meat or grains, then you are absolutely hoarding food. Hoarding fresh vegetables that are considered precious commodities in other locations. I think you are missing your head.
thespecter2 3 months ago
@the specter 2 you are studying written world history, you are ignoring the rest. so in your opinion, i, me, myself, should be eating a sub- optimal diet that will reduce my life span for your pleasue of existance? well since i dont have to do that, i wont. and to make matters worse for you, i will tell others. In fact as the demand for fruit vegatable fresh meats and nuts increase the price will rise untill one of two happen, you die or production increases. im looking foward . cheers fucker
datzfast 3 months ago
@thespecter2 All the longest-lived populations ever studied ate starch based diets which were high-carb and low fat. The best example was the okinawans( before the 50's). Yes all the longest-lived and healthiest populations ate meat but it was a very low percentage (under 5% of total cals) and nothing like the paleo diet. Don't bring up the inuits or eskimos as they were not one of them and were shown to have atherosclerosis and the Masai had a life expectancy in the 50's.
82Bdog 3 months ago
@82Bdog I was trying to point out that you MUST have a staple crop/staple in pastoral means for a large population to sustain itself. AKA rice/beef, which are just examples. You don't need both but you do need at least one. Living off of raw-vegan vegetables is nowhere near adequate, which is my argument. I think having a mix of fat and carbs is the best idea. I do eat complex carbs in a sense, if you count sweet potatoes, root vegetables, and oats.
thespecter2 3 months ago
@JordiSmulders does a biological reason exist not to eat meat? whole grains delay the onset of diabetes heart disease and obesity so do i get like what? five years or so.it seems to me grains in general are worthless caloric filler because i can eat more fiber in a big ass salad than a month of whole grain pancakes. and if its such great nutrition how come it always has to have added nutrients to justify its existance. in short the food pyrimid you eat kills you prematurly according your own .

can someone please explain to me why potatoes are not on the paleo diet when the Aztecs were eating them more than 10k years ago?
smurfieboo 4 months ago
@smurfieboo Aztecs have not been around more than 10k years .... where are you getting that? They arived sometime in the 13th century AD. The main idea of the "Paleo" diet is to revert to a pre-agriculture diet - the "Hunter/Gatherer" diet as it also is called requires things that can be either A) hunted or B) gathered. Potatoes are part of the "nightshade" family and while it is not a strict NO on the paleo scale of things, you would be much better served to go with sweet potatoes more nutrient
falcoriscrying 4 months ago
s per serving.

The best diet is probably carb-centric raw veganism :)
hoppimike 5 months ago
@hoppimike The china study has been completely decimated by many people. Denise minger from rawfoodsos has systematically dissected the china study and shown how flawed and bias the whole thing was. Dr. Loren Cordain (author of The paleo diet) also had a debate with Dr. Colin Campbell (author of the china study) about the roles of animal proteins in our diet and Cordain destroyed him... campbell did not treat the debate as a serious thing, probably because he knew he couldn't prove a point.
BLaZeDRas 5 months ago
@BLaZeDRas So why are animal proteins superior to sources such as Spirulina? And why do people who eat less meat look healthier? At least to me...
hoppimike 5 months ago
@BLaZeDRas LOL no it hasn't and denise minger has been debunked and even campbell responded to her. Cordain isn't on the level of campbell and denise minger is some random blogger that all you paleo crew jumped on when she really didn't debunk anything. All the longest-lived populations ate high-carb plant foods as their staples (whether it was corn, rice, potatoes, quinoa, etc)
82Bdog 3 months ago
@82Bdog Minger simply took Campbell's data and compiled them using statistics. The data are all over the place and did not show much statistic significance. I have yet to see anyone debunk her math. Not even Campbell.

if you look at the US population pyramid modern man starts dying of old age at about 50 years of age and then as predictable as rain are for the most part half dead by age 67. that life span of eighty years are for the 3 percent. so if government said you were going to live longer it was because they just wanted your income tax until your death.
datzfast 6 months ago
@TheFavorite95 I'm serious about that i mean modern men would be better of if they would give up the meat eating then they get more gentle and that's what women deep in their hearts like more instead of men whith a lot of bravour and often misguided heroism. it's easer for the men too then they don't have to prove themself all the time or to protect themself from other men who have the same problem, or to prentend to be not afraid. many (sensetive) people feel the fear of the animals they eat

you really do have a point... as the humans learned hunting and their body adapted for almost 1 million years to a certain kind of food... no doubt.
but you miss the very point: ~16.000 years ago we mastered the agriculture... and the first human cities appeared. grain crops made our entire civilization possible! not to mention the outstanding developement of our brain... in the last 10.000 years eating grains, we managed to become evolved humans... from cavemen. doesn't this ring your bell?
bogdancomm 7 months ago
Question: Why was it that "cavemen" only lived into their 60's? I'm not denying the Paleo Diet (I've actually followed for two weeks and think it's awesome), but I'm just curious as to whether "cavemen" died of health-related illness, because that might show a hole in the logic behind it.
JMan9391 7 months ago
@JMan9391 Early humans lived very dangerous lives. They hunted large dangerous animals and did not have modern medicine to nurse them back to health. However, they were very fit.
trogdorfiend 6 months ago

Issaquan5 7 months ago
wait, when you say no fructose, there's fructose in fruits naturally. Fruits and veggies should be our only intake of sugar right (also honey, agave nectar)?
Issaquan5 7 months ago
The primal diet isn't supposed to portray that we hunt with a spear, gather our food, etc. It's a LIFESTYLE in which you decide that living a long happy and healthy life is more important than that piece of cold pizza. People like the primal diet because not only does it help them look good, but it makes them feel even better. Your body feels clean and you never feel groggy. Everyone has a right to do what they want with their body, but I for one am choosing to feel the best that I possibly can
SaveAnna1221 7 months ago
@despookyhhr Right, Paleo is marketed as weight loss system, ,,, gluten free, ,,, you name it. Why? Cause, it's a product that needs to be sold and it appeals to what public knows and wants, - after all, who would print books, create sites for free, right? But does this alone mean that it's fad? About spear - if i can't hunt, i won't give up eating meat right? Also, Paleo is what humans have been eating 99% of their history - you just can't go wrong with that. Think about it.
valgez1 7 months ago
@despookyhhr I think you should try it and see how you feel, if you dont like it and dont feel the benefits after 30 days then fine go back to whinging on Youtube. If however you do feel the benefits this lifestyle gives you then please continue.

pretty dumb statement people have evolved in so many ways, it only makes sense that they want tastier food, it also only makes sense that humans expeimented with food, given the fact that their is so much diff stuff eatin now a days. ya nobody ate unprocesssed food but ithey also werent driving cars watching tv or flyig to the moon....good day dummies
loplips 8 months ago
@loplips Actually, in the past. Everyone ate unprocessed foods, it's best to learn about how your body reacts to certain foods through experimentation and analysis of your closest relatives (mom and dad + familiy) and it wouldn't kill you to take a English writing class.
baihbalm 8 months ago
@baihbalm i know everyone ate unprocessed food, all im saying that humanity is evolved in literally everyway and got smarter on everything on this planet and even in space....so obviously theres going to people making better food and experimenting with that also. Even a caveman would rather have a mcdonalds cheeseburger over some unprocessed freshly killed meat. ANNNd what kindve nerd takes a english writing class just for the fuck of it? ill stick to eating what i want and working it off
loplips 8 months ago
@loplips FYI, it takes the human species approximately 2000 years or more to adapt to a new diet. So no, we haven't 'evolved' to our current diets in it's entirety. A good example is how some Europeans have adapted to drinking milk from other mammals, while most if not all native Americans (who are Asian by decent) have not = lactose intolerance. You're most likely going to be working for a nerd in the future, so please do yourself a favor and learn to write. I won't be the last to say it.
baihbalm 8 months ago
@baihbalm FYI its year 2011 idiot and by my count thats more than 2000 yrs of adaptation. OOOOO and also i wont be working for anyone especially a NERD, I never had a job and will never need one. im sure your going to start talking shit on how im lying & all this crap but sinve im native american i get paid a montly per capita! its low right now at around 5000$- 6000$ a month its usually way more...PS im only 20. hahahaha if only you knew
loplips 8 months ago
@loplips Wow, you're far more stupid then I previously imagined. You're 20 years of age, and write at a 3rd grade level? On top of that, you have no understanding that being a Native American; your ancestors have not had 2000 years to adapt to grains, rice, beans, or milk.... So you're point is mute. If there's anyone that deserves to get diabetes, it's you. Not to mention since you are Native American, you are much more susceptible to the disease. Good luck living in perpetual ignorance.
baihbalm 8 months ago
@loplips You stick to eating to whatever you want - nobody will tell you not to. Caveman would be likely to choose McDonalds, just like a kid would choose candy - humans are IRRATIONAL, they are after the feelings, so they want it to be "tasty", - humans smoke, humans overdrink, humans take drugs. Nothing obvious about "making better food" resulting in the progress (in fact, it's funny :-)))). So, eat what you like, nobody cares, really
valgez1 7 months ago
@valgez1 I will!!! stick to eating what I want because that shits way tastier, I would rather live knowing i did what i want & ate what i want instead of forcing myself to eat shit that might be ok tasting & a lil more healthy for you.

@TheFavorite95 It is possible, as the video says it is very affordable in the long term. Eventually, the decrease in all the diseases associated with non Paleo diets, cardiovascular diseases etc and obesity would rapidly drop reducing healthcare costs.

Just $0.02.
