  • so Google thinks by doing the opposite of Apple is innovation?

  • nice video on your channel

  • This guy gives energetic presentations. Larry Page puts me to sleep.

  • I love U GUNDOOOOOOOTRA !

  • Android is really cool!

  • Hard-core results come from igniting the massive power of emotional commitment. Are your people committed?

Let’s get right on top of the bottom line: You must live your personal values at work. Check out slapCompany

  • Yes.

  • @k1rs3r and screw you fag.

  • Go Vic Go!!!!!!

    my main man Vic!!!

  • Say hi to the FTC for me Google!

  • Hypocrite.

  • In retrospect, of course, this is an amoral business slogan. Let's be absolutely fair: if Google wants to copy the iPhone and compete in the space that Apple developed, that's fine. But what is disgusting is the ad job they're doing to call Apple evil because their business model is different.

  • But it's "world domination" that Google is after.

  • "From now on, companies hoping to receive early access to Google’s most up-to-date software will need approval of their plans. And they will seek that approval from Andy Rubin, the head of Google’s Android group." Ops.

  • Does this mean that Google will pay? ;o

  • @poweju Google will be payable* :)

  • Czy to oznacze że google będa płatne?;o

  • I just think you're completly wrong.

  • I SAW THE CLIQ XT!!! HAHA

  • Hey it's Mr. Googly!

  • google dun like microsoft and dun like apple, but they can't work without them

  • android is a more closed system than ios..that is if you have a brain and can think about it.

  • @2008PS3 LOL are you serious? Can I get the entire source code for iOS, modify it, compile it and then install it to an iPhone? Can I install a whole system without using Apple's update format and whatever encryption/security they've implemented in order to block iOS hackers?

iOS source is not available and never will be.

iOS not only has superuser (root) disallowed, but Apple continues to try blocking hackers with more and more bullshit security.

  • @psphacker8 but Apple said it from the origin. Apple never said iOS source would be available to all. It's available to developers. Of course it is.

Instead, Google said that Android was completely open (choice, innovation, ecc) and today Google says: "You know what? You have to go for approval by Andy!" Good luck with that.

  • look at 3.35 ..u will see a mac !!!

  • @aj814 it's the point. Oooooopen source!!!!!!! virtualization

  • @jossc I support opensource............ smart answer ;)

  • @aj814 lol, ironic isn't it? :D

  • momentum, momentum, momentum, momentum!!!

  • Go Android!

  • i like the turn by turn nav.. tough i have to download the map as i go.. that costs.. why cant i store the parts of the map that i've been on?

at home i have wireless.. but on a trip i dont.. and carriers take a lot for DL

  • @RicardoLima1992

    symbian!

  • What's hilarious is that they harp on Apple so much yet almost all the users at their headquarters have an Apple laptop...LOL, that's hilarious!

  • @The1andonlyBYack It's so weird, I don't know why the hell do so many Google employees use Macs! I know Mac OS X is based on Unix, but why won't they use Linux?

It's because Google decided to eliminate all Windows systems in their campus after an attack on their network (or something like that, I don't remember). They gave their employees two options: Mac OS X or Linux. I have NO idea why so many of them picked Mac.

  • All the Thumbs down must be Mac people

  • At 3:36 he walks past a MacBook Pro. Hmm... there using there enemies product! Cool?

  • @TheLifeofphi.....GREAT POINT!!!!! Many people criticize Apple but you cannot be mad at them for starting the madness. It was a great and creative idea that others wish they would have thought of first.

  • Scroll to 2:45...... You should like it!

  • Funny how this dude is advocating for a less draconian future while walking past a macbook pro (3:38). Ideology fail.

  • @TheLifeofphi Eat a dick.

  • i got my droid device because of the fact that its made by made scientist

people buy iphone just because everyone else has it

  • Now blablabla... Now blablabla... Now blablabla... I'm sure you're gonna love it...

    Jobs !

  • Very, very good device. I have an Android phone too.

  • the problem with Android is they ever compare with iPhone. iPhone ever wins because the other ones compare..... all the long way. [[ so iPhone is a standard every one want to be like Apple ]] Some people to win need push down the others to be more tall (Google, Microsoft, Adobe) and some people push up they selfs to be just better(Apple)

  • GOOOO ANDROID!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • While I love Android, and choose it over the iphone, google needs someone who can make their products more appetizing like Jobs does. They should use words like chromey, wonderful, creamy, delicious, etc etc.

Oh and the apple computer does not help their case.

Still, Iphone 4 the Droids will have their revenge!! (edit in transforming noises)

  • Okay, the big Phone event of the year is upon us, showtime is at 10:00AM - California Time - the full video will be posted later in the afternoon.

Engadget does such a reliable job of realtime text and photos... so join in the fun as the future is released to developers. We should see the iPhone HD, which will knock out all competitors forever. Here is a good link:

  • i hate google, they are all big fat smelly smellies

  • what a fag LOL!!!!!

  • iPhone OS is Pravda. Android is the Internet.

  • Wow, awesome.

  • shut your hole, Apple fagboy

  • 3:38

  • @ghostsonic the FAG HOG hahahahahaahhahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahaahhahahahahahahhaha

  • @Igotthatfire123 I didn't even know an operating system could talk.

  • I think you should all calm down. The world is big enough for both an iPhone and all the google / Android phones. Only development and innovation of each of these two opposing phone OSs will sustain them into the future. It would be a bad thing for either of them to seek "world domination" as that would prevent them from developing to their full potential.

There is so much in this world that needs to be fixed e.g. AIDS and world poverty... keep it in perspective folks !

  • @imperialdalek No it's not.

  • @imperialdalek Your comment might seem sane, but we are talking about something very important here. The evolution and freedom of technology is threatened by the giant called Apple. The worst part is that Apple's fans NEVER argue sanely - they argue as people who are religious extremists do. There is absolutely no reason to choose an iPhone over Android, other than perhaps liking the design, or the new "retina" screen, wich has been beaten by the Samsung galaxy s. The iPhone(s) are inferior.

  • @imperialdalek shut up u retard

  • YUP BUT I BET JOBS WOULD GIVE ME A HIGH5

  • @Igotthatfire123 you do apple fans a disservice by existing.

  • @Igotthatfire123 I've used a Mac since the early 90's and now own a Mac Pro but I also use a G1smart-phone and it's great. I didn't want the iPhone because the phone part of it is unreliable and often loses signal which is not good for business. I have now ordered the HTC Desire which is a fantastic smart-phone but if you are happy with the iPhone what's the problem?

  • @Igotthatfire123 Are you on your period?

  • @Igotthatfire123 You have serious issues and should seek help.

  • 60 devices and not one of them worth half an iPhone. Enjoy your 3 months boys. When Verizon get's the iPhone it's going to be so long Google.

  • @danielmhertlein In your opinion.

  • @JRRFAGGET THE PLANS YOU DUMMY ! I HAD A G1 AND MY TOUCH AND BOTH PHONES CRASHED LIKE PCs LMFAO

  • Look google is great but i think there taking things just a little to far. I hate when good companies ruin a good thing! I wonder why the dropped there "do no evil" slogan. I really wanted to get rid of my crappy iphone but not for android. I would much rather go windows mobile at this point. (Antitrust Monopoly)

  • @Igotthatfire123 iphones aren't even more expensive than many android phones wtf lol. I have a feeling you've never used an android phone or developed for one.

  • 2:50 ;)

  • I guess you've got to slap Apple around like Apple's been slapping Microsoft for years... now that Apple is very successful, making products people love, smashing the competition. You've got to behave like the underdog to be loved like the underdog, and Android is without a doubt an underdog in this battle.

I'm all for the competition, I think both platforms will get better as a result and the consumer will be the ultimate winner.

  • Vic is da bomb!

  • Please, iPhone is a proposition, just like Google/Android. You can buy Nokia, RIM, Android etc. Sounds like this guy is the next version of Bill Gates. By not having tight integration between hardware/software, means compromise. Android would be better if it was more focused in it's hardware pairings. I will keep my iPhone thanks.

  • Apples iPhone makes people want an android

  • @man316420

Apple's policies around iPhone might drive people to Android. You have to admit that Apple invented the winning form factor, in general, with the big multi-touch capable screen.

Innovation hasn't really happened in mobile phones too much since then, at least in the user interface.

  • This is not about Google preventing Apple from creating a walled garden. This is about Google creating their own walled garden. This is what publicly traded corporations do. Google is going to do their best to elbow Apple out of the top spot. They are not doing this because of some notion of open and free(as in speech), but as a corporation seeking profit and dominant market share. Google wears the sheep mantle very well. Google is just as much a wolf as any other for profit corporation.

  • I like how there's an apple laptop on the desk at 3:38.

  • at 3:22 he stop BSing

i want my 3 minutes back

  • The "one man, one company, one provider" thing is nonsense. There is so much choice for mobile phones and networks. It's just that the iPhone turns out to be the most popular smartphone, which is okay. The only reason to add another mobile OS is to get a share and make more money. The open source model is unfair competition and leads to huge fragmentation.

  • Google I/O 2010 - Keynote Day 2 Android Demo, pt. 1

  • I don't have a problem with such a successful company ruling the world, it would be good thing!

  • Google are taking over the must be stopped!

  • @DragonicArbalist why would u want to stop them? they're making the best products out. stop the people (ahem, person) who's hindering innovation

  • @3:03: Its kind of scary that Google will actually be the ones creating our technological future now. They will be in our computers, mobile phones, our televisions - basically in every gadget we use. But nobody else seems to be able to deliver what people want. Everybody else wants to lock consumers in.

  • @Uberware Yeah. "Don't be evil" actually seems to get good results. It's textbook capitalism in action: you do good, the customers like you, your business grows. I think it seems strange to us because it's rare for big businesses to actually follow that plan. Most corporations start to think in terms of screwing competitors over as their main strategy. It's the "if the customers have no other choices, they'll have to choose us" approach. Thank you Google for continuing to follow plan A.

  • @fennecfanatic

@videomissionary just had his mind blown

  • Can android sync with my adress book, ical, iphoto and itunes apps? For a mac user, there's no question about what smartphone to buy.

  • @videomissionary Actually, yes, it can.

  • @videomissionary

lol, so as android can sync with google mail, google calendar, google contacts and picasa...

  • lol, I can't watch these....they're too long. Could you tell your employees just to cut to the chase rather than waste our time? Please?

  • @KyleWebs Um... This is a developer event. If you want something cut down for general consumption, why not read about the event after the fact in one of the hundreds of thousands of blogs that are regurgitating information every day?

  • He like to hear people applauding.

  • why is is to hard to find the next video in the series. Why is this divided into chunks at all???. That is so Google - sometimes they just don't get it.

  • Will this update be available on any phones with HTC Sense on them? Also, if there are any future updates to Android, will they all be available for phones running HTC Sense? Plz answer, thanks.

  • Authoritarian not Draconian!!!! der

  • "We did not enter the search business. They entered the phone business," Jobs reportedly said. "Make no mistake, Google wants to kill the iPhone. We won't let them." - Big Brother

Apple is insanely power mad and completely out of control. In just a few years they have robbed their users of nearly all choice and customization. They have shut out all innovation and competition and have doomed their iPhone / iPads to the same fate that the mac suffered. Thank you Android, I await your PDAs!

  • @moofassa22 The free market will determine if you're correct or not about Apple's decisions. Your comparison of Apple to an all encompassing state is a poor illustration. All wel-run capitalistic companies, google included, take chances with their strategies. Look how being controlling has failed Microsoft.

  • @hegor

Only the blindest of Apple users would state that they have complete freedom over their device. In fact they like it because the opposite is true. To the tens of millions of iPhone users, Apple is a totalitarian state. Why do you think the hack to gain control of your iPhone is called "jailbreak".

Powerful advertisting can defeat all free market principles, and Apple is an example of that. The inferior product, when well advertised defeats the better one.

  • muy bueno

  • This keynote is so boring. No one can ever pull off a Steve Jobs keynote!

  • Yes very nice, but what an obviously contrived speech full of the most obvious falsehood, seemingly based loosely on a Steve Jobs speech.

  • interesting stuff in you're doing a lot of sm via your mobile.

  • Weird

Vic Gundota talks about that the open standards brings innovation.

    - Why Google didn't invent the Android BEFORE Apple?

    - Why Google didn't invent the iPad BEFORE Apple?

To me Google's innovation means take something already in the market, copying it and giving it away for free.

Unless I am missing something, that kills innovation.

  • @peppeddu and you realy think apple came with computer,mp3 player, cellphone and tablet first ?

  • @imsmegghead lol owned

  • @imsmegghead Everything is an evolution. Galileo invented the telescope using the microscope idea invented 19 years before.

IMHO innovation is doing a screen phone with multitouch, accelerometer, compass GPS and unlimited data plan when the other players laughed at you. (S. Ballmer did.)

To me, taking the iPhone, copying the OS, tweaking it a little bit, and giving it away for free in order to sell some ads, doesn't fall into the category of innovation.

What's next Android for tablets with ads?

  • @peppeddu then do not use Apple and MS products they stole everything from others.

  • @peppeddu You are missing something. An open market creates challenge. That means the businesses have to fight more for their customers. That brings innovation..

  • We are happy to announce that Vic should get a thesaurus.

  • 5 pillars? remind you of another mobile phone company's keynote?

  • Google implying Apple is cornering/controlling a market, that's RICH!

  • SHIT'S WEAK!

    WIZEAK

  • They are saying that apple is gonna turn into a abounded company -_- and wdf they showed a grid saying android is more than iphone LMFAO that is such a lie, google is trying to destroy apple... but it's not going to happen

Why not just all get along and make something like the United Nations, but for computer/internet companies and Microsoft, Adobe, Google, Apple would be in it and they would have a secret meeting every year.

  • What the heck, you open the comments and the video restarts. You start your comment and the video restarts. I was gonna write something but forget about it, just fix this, Google, then go back to working on the Android.

  • Empressive but i cant wait until june 7 at the apple keynote and see how google will fail yet again to the beat the iphone os... Android OS is hot and it blows the iphone 3gs out of the water, matter of fact im thinking of getting an evo but i have to wait until the new iphone is revealed... As a consumer im loving it coz it brings out the best of apple and im dead sure the so called A+ upgrade of the iphone will be the best one out there...

  • go Google!!! and android........

  • welcome back :)

  • ANDROID FTW!!!

  • Comment removed

  • opies,

    fluite i think

  • ... not choice... but control of every aspect of usage...

  • If only I could get non-sh*t android phones in canada, I would...

  • Google advertising on youtube, because they own it = thumbs down

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom

At the very least they didn't block the comments, unlike Apple (afraid of the criticism, eh?)

  • 3:36

  • I SEE AN APPLE COMPUTER! LOL

  • @MySecretOtakuLife Doesn't mean there is an Apple OS on it...

  • @MySecretOtakuLife So? Google is for all platforms, and the truth is, some things just work better on a PC and some run better on a Mac.

  • @MySecretOtakuLife Google are open minded and open source, except more than just an apple computer

  • obviously taken many ideas from apple, but they have much improved the platform and if apple was the only company making software like this they would become a monopoly. Go Android!

  • I have the same shirt that is on the indian guy, it's $78

  • its also stupid that he says people dont want a one system world when what is google trying to do? create an android only world. doesnt make sense

  • dont you think its kind of sad the Google the owner of youtube cant even upload a 1080p video

  • @btvbrndn

    your a fucking flut bag!!

  • can you say apple copycats

  • @btvbrndn lol apple copied Microsoft

  • @Krieger91 They didn't copy microsoft, microsoft helped apple in the past, they are partners... Jobs and Gates are friends... but they may not have the same ideas, but they still get along so can Adobe and Apple can get along, in a few years, flash will be on the iphone, because adobe said they won't give up on the iphone os, Adobe recently put a message on their site, can't wait for 2012 LOL

  • @UltimatePenguinTeam Do me a favor and type "steve jobs hates adobe" into google, then tell me why Jobs would let them put flash on his iphones?

  • @Krieger91 He never said he hated Adobe, he said how adobe was lazy and that flash is shit. Adobe is working on flash to meet steve's terms, just because it says it on the internet doesn't mean it's true.

  • @UltimatePenguinTeam He said flash is not the future, nothing from adobe is the future. He wants to move to HTML 5, and as far as I know... adobe is not making that. End.

  • @Krieger91 yes fot that they have flash 10.1 on froyo... lol

  • great

  • I don't know why people hate Apple running their own software on their own device on a carrier they support. It's their PRODUCT and they can do whatever the hell they want to do with it. Don't like it? don't buy it! Oh, but why people do buy it? Because it is the best overall Mobile OS. Android is good, not the best. Apple gave us a CHOICE in both Mobile OS and Computer OS, that no one else could. Which still are largely controlled by Nokia and Microsoft. So how is Apple Big Brother?

  • @007ishan007 Apple don't give the "best" product but does the best marketing, simple features like copy paste came in version 3.1 of the OS, and multi tasking - which was from years in other OS'es is coming in 4th version, and it is not even true multi tasking. People buy it cause its popular, great marketing, and lot of eye-candy and the annoying habit of Steve Jobs calling each Apple product a "Revolutionary product of your dreams", you were not able to even change background till version 4..

  • why the steve jobs approach?

  • @walltowall5

You think Jobs came up with that format?

  • Try to find the hidden message in the video on my channel, you'll never get it

  • Funny, i can say exactly the same thing about google a search on web, or maps, or even video web stream. Not being critic, but the best will win, i would rather go wit iPhone Os for now, but i wish good luck for google.

  • when Google told me to purchase a DROID from Verizon I gave up..I just hope they reinvent whatever they created and try again

  • android rockssssssss

  • Vote for Hakun Abdir Jobs the google Steve Jobs

  • This nerd is driving me nuts....

  • this guy is talking shit about Apple but still uses a macbook pro.. 3:36

  • @mastibusiness I don't really know where he was talking "shit" about Apple. He spoke the truth.. and him using a macbook just proves he's not bias.

  • @mastibusiness That's not talking shit, that's their company thinking. You know, 10 years ago Apple was telling the same thing about Microsoft and desktop computers, criticizing their monopoly. The point of any company in a capitalist system is to optimize income, and monopoly is the best possible way to achieve that.. so whatever they blab about in this fashion is quite the bullshitting.
