As an American I have spent a lot of time studying the situation in Catalonia, I've studied Catalan and I've talked to people to find WHY they want to be independent. Spain takes 10% out of every single Catalan's paycheck. At the same time in I think it was 2008, something like 86% of public works projects promised to Catalonia went uncompleted. The Spanish language is STILL forced upon the Catalans. Catalonia deserves a chance to thrive and flourish without subsidizing Spain.

I've friends in some towns that follow this idea and they did not went to vote because they say that "they're only going to vote into a real referendum" (so do not think this 75% are spanish proud people)

Making a referendum in Sant Cugat costs about 20.000€... now try to imagine how the hell has been paid all this, how could be able to pay publicity as well (or others things like that to "motivate" people to vote).
