  • If things get messed and nothing boots, you can use the Rescatux live CD too. It can restore/fix as far as I know both boot loaders, haven't tried for windows one yet. ( more Linux stuff ..! :P )

The only thing Windows are better for me now, is for PowerPoint/Word documents I must make for assignments and I have to use office ..(there's Libre and Open office, but they don't all have great compatibility BETWEEN them).

There's games too ... Best OS for that is the PS3's one in my opinion :P

    W.E.A.K ;)

  • @wannie424 Ubuntu cannot do everything. Windows has still its own place as number one (even if I don't like it) and you cannot work without windows. So you know that ... why you still say -"Ubuntu is better." Every system has its own job. Anyway Ubuntu cannot replace Windows actually in 2011. Still many many bugs and insufficient drivers.

  • @francoisgonenc UBUNTU DOES NOT HAVE ANY DRIVERS!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

  • @wannie424 really ? amazing isn't it ? No drivers in Linux ? Nice. Linux Device Drivers, by Jonathan Corbet explains that if you have a little bit time to read my friend AAAAAAhahaAhahahah sooooo...

  • @francoisgonenc lol, i didn't know that! i thought that linux has no drivers! lol

One thing: after deleting Ubuntu in my bootloader, I restarted my Win7 pc. I got a message saying the bootloader has changed and I choosed to start up "normally".

After that everything worked like it should have :-)

  • Does this work if it's installed with Wubi?

  • @Altairmonkey yes

  • thank you cousin

  • This is a great tutorial, now I finally was able to remove ubuntu. I tried to uninstall it, restarted, and nothing happened. I tried deleting the folder, but still nothing happened. Then, I searched all over Youtube, until I found this video. Easy BCD deleted ubuntu for good, I restarted, and my computer booted right back into windows.

I don't know what I would have done without this video.

    THANK YOU!!!

  • i screwed something up in ubuntu somehow and i want to uninstall it and then re install it. after doing this, can i re install it in the free disk space that i made for it?

  • Thank you for the video. Just out of curiosity how popular is Linux in Lebanon?

  • @BigBobsh2o not much :P

but its not that linux is bad or hard to work with

but the reason is that in lebanon you can buy a windows 7 DVD or any windows OS for like 2$ from any computer shop, there are no rules against piracy or maybe there is but no one knows about :P

  • Nice video. I successfully removed Ubuntu from boot manager. But now when I am re-installed it, it is not shown in the boot selection screen. Can you please tell me what options should I select to add this in the boot selector? I have installed ubuntu on a new drive (apart from Windows 7). Thank you

  • @jsjMovies yes you can

  • @TutorialsByOZ

Hey, I have the boot cd, but when I press any key to boot from CD, It brings me to ubuntu! Help Plox.

  • @jsjMovies another easy way to remove windows 7 boots is just simply going to start/ typing in msconfig and then click the boot tab... you can remove any windows boots... But linux boots wont show...

  • Wubi Ubuntu did not work good for me. When I tried to uninstall it from the Uninstall a Program Windows, It said "error executing command" with a bunch of codes. I then deleted the Ubuntu folder, but it was still there. When I entered it, my computer had an error and restarted. I deleted some files, scared that I would corrupt something, AND IT WAS STILL THERE! Finally, I got so desperate and looked on YouTube. This video showed up, I installed the program, deleted Ubuntu, and it wasn't there!

  • @standingcam im Glad it worked ;)

  • Thank you for showing me this program, I had Linux Mint dual booted with Windows 7, I got rid of Linux and kept Windows 7 but the Linux Mint option was still there when the computer started, thanks to this program this saves me boot up time

  • wow man thanks you saved my ass

  • This worked perfectly. After searching through dozens of forums the solution was right in front of me. All I did was look at the video results and Google and your video was there. Thank you!

  • Can anyone confirm if this works?

  • MrYoungEddie Please subscribe if that vid helped you

  • Hey dude, I have this huge problem, I recently installed Ubuntu on my computer, but then I accidently used all of the hard disk (my Windows was removed too), and Ubuntu was the only OS on the computer. I'm a lucky guy, that I copied all of my files to a USB Key, so I haven't lost any data. But my problem is: I can't install Windows again!

I've only seen guides how to remove your dual boot Ubuntu, but not even 1 that shows me how to remove everything. Help please, be my hero.

  • Your problem is Easy

1)Insert Windows cd or dvd and boot it up

2)when windows start up and when your prompted to the partitioning part just adjust the disk sizes the way you want

*if you want to delete Ubuntu format all the harddrive and install windows on "C" drive

  • I'm not sure you understood what I said.

When I start up my computer with my Windows cd in, it just says:

    GNU GRUB version 1.97 beta4

    Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31.15-generic-pae

    Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31.15-generic-pae (recovery mode)

    Memory test (memtest86+)

Memory test (memtest86+, serial console 115200)

Perhaps I didn't explain it right. I'm sorry, I'm from Denmark.

    Help is very appreciated. :)

  • when you start the laptop and the cd is in the drive

press esc or f8 more than one and you will enter your boot options

then chose boot from cd or dvd

    and thats it

  • You are 'da' man! Going to try it now. :)

  • Oh, when I choosed the CD it just entered Ubuntu again :'(

  • Ubuntu should go to hell, sorry, just had to say.

  • Well, never mind. I'll just buy a new hard drive, thanks for the help, at least you tried. :)

  • you dont need take your laptop or computer to anyone who has some knowledge on computers and he will help

you dont need to buy a new harddrive

  • Well, I bought the new hard drive, and .... it still didn't work. Then I went to the store with my WIndows XP CD, and asked for a new one. I got the new one, and then.... It worked!

Well, it doesn't matter I bought the new harddrive, I was going to anyways. :) Thank you for spending time helping me. :)

  • @tchunu wth, lol .. xD

Probably Cd wasn't bootable .. had similar problem when win 7 broke .. :P

You may need new one .. :/ Either download and burn iso the way it is(assuming it's a bootable iso) or use original(original should be bootable anyways). If it was original it should be bootable anyways ..(except broken)

In the end, what makes a difference is how you activate them, no matter the install Cd ..

    I know it's old comment .. But it doesn't hurt .. Might help someone too .. :)

  • Does this work with windows XP - I have grub loader and I am afraid not to load windows Vista or Windows 7 boot.ini and mess my windows xp. So does this work with windows XP?

  • according to the software site they say it does

but i havent tested it on xp

i tested it on vista and windows 7 and it worked fine

  • Perfection
