It would have been a better record with real strings instead of a synthesizer. Typical tho for Arrows. For example, The Walker Brothers got real strings, a full orchestra on their records, and the Arrows get a cheesy synthesizer simulating strings . The vocals are ace.
thanks to The Arrows for sending me this link, had the lyrics running in my head for years - found them on myspace, really lovely guys - thanks boys x
It's hard to believe that this is the same band that recorded the first version of I love rock n roll a year earlier in 1975. What the heck happened to these guys? Sedatives?
One of my favourites. brings back teenage memories of sneaking out of my bedroom window on to Arrows concerts! worth being grounded for! i blame arrows for my college grades but hey! they were worth it! Legend.
This peaked at number 21 on Capital Radio's Top 40 on 3/4/76.

A classic ballad , Once Upon A Time - Arrows, should have been a massive hit. always will be one of my all time top 5 tunes......

I'd forgotten this one until now. I loved Alan Merrill and The Arrows but i've always hated soppy smaltz and this comes dangerously close.
