Mosque desicion is Americans own desicion but , about the name "Cordoba". Cordoba was one of the islamic city in spain and achieved great cultural and scientifical succeses. I've been trying to look up a translation or definition of Cordoba/Qurtuba but have been unsuccessful. Probably not too significant, since it seems to be a common place name, but would be interesting to know more about it. From what I can tell, it is most famously the name of a mosque and city in Spain, but does the word have meaning itself?

I don't know enough about Islamic culture, but I'm sure Paladino is an expert, that is is a lasting symbol of conquest. According to the Spanish when I was actually at the mosque, once the Spaniards pushed out the Moors they destroyed most of the Mosques, but this one was too beautiful and spectacular to destroy so they left it and have used it for various purposes for centuries.

I don't know enough about Islamic culture, but I'm sure Paladino is an expert, that is is a lasting symbol of conquest. According to the Spanish when I was actually at the mosque, once the Spaniards pushed out the Moors they destroyed most of the Mosques, but this one was too beautiful and spectacular to destroy so they left it and have used it for various purposes for centuries.

What the team bringing the mosque prepares in a statement is irrelevant as it follows the same format as every radical Islamist prior to this.
