My son Rick was born a year and a half after the death of Harry, but grew up listening to his music, thank's to me...lol, I think in his own way, he can and does undrstand great music when he hears it. Cat's in the Cradle is his favorite, because he can relate to it.
Wonderful !! I would've given a major organ or walked on broken glass to have seen it in person.
Harry deserved more recognition, unlike the flash - in - the pan, flavor - of - the - month " celebrities " we have now, who are big news for about a year or so, then forgotten shortly after.
I saw Harry Chapin twice in concert. It was about the lonliest part of my life but his music made me feel like I was not alone. He expresses alot on the emotions of life. The ups and downs. This song I remember he played at the end of each concert. He was fantastic person and this song really make me miss him. Some times you have tough times and I think his music helps you understand yourself.

I published a poem about Harry titled Harry C. It basically told a story of how
the great Big John Wallace was discovered at Grace church and how
Harry sang for "those where the gardens are just dirty and dry" etc. Anyway, the
tribute is a treasure in so many ways
